Nathan is great, he watched my pup and house sat for 4 days. He took her for walks and sent me updates with pictures daily. My pup seemed very happy when I got home. I would definitely rebook with him again!

About: I’ve lived with and looked after many pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals. I regularly look after my friends dogs, cats and other small pets. I have a passion for dogs and although I don’t currently have my own I regularly walk dogs daily with friends and/or family. I’ve helped train puppies and also spent time caring for elder dogs. I currently work for a company that produces smart devices for pets so I am very familiar with animals and the wants and needs required to look after them and their welfare. I work fully remote for a pet device company and regularly spend my spare time with my friends and families pets. I’m active and love walking, I have completed the Camino de Santiago and enjoyed every step. Although I don’t currently have a pet of my own I have pet beds, bowls and other toys etc as I regularly look after dogs at my house. I make sure my house is pet friendly and love to get to know every animal I pet sit. A part of forming a bond and making sure they are cared for is understanding the behaviours and habits they already have and keeping as routine as you can to keep them safe and happy. I’ve regularly pet sat at friends homes and always treat their animals and homes with love and care.

About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover and understand just how important pets are as part of the family. Growing up, I had six cats and a Golden Labrador, and I now have a lovely Cocker Spaniel of my own, so I’m experienced with both cats and dogs and comfortable caring for pets of different ages and personalities. I work full-time as a Cardiac Physiologist at West Suffolk Hospital, and in my free time I enjoy taking my Cocker Spaniel on long walks, spending time in the garden, and being outdoors. I’m available for pet care in the mornings and evenings before and after work, as well as throughout the weekend. I can also offer overnight pet sitting when needed. If you’re looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced pet lover to look after your furry family members, I’d be delighted to help whenever I’m available. Please feel free to send me a message — I’d love to hear from you! 🙂 I work Monday - Friday 8-17:00 at West Suffolk Hospital, so am available mornings and evenings. I also have full availability on weekends, so please message me to find out more info. 🙂 I know how important it is to have someone reliable looking after your pets, and I’ll treat your cat with the same care and attention I’d give my own. Whether your cat loves cuddles and company or prefers their space, I’m happy to adapt to their personality and routine.

Taylor is an amazing pet sitter and we couldn’t be happier with the care she gives our Frenchies, Remi and Buster. She is very friendly, caring, and pays so much attention to our babies. She spends time playing with them, keeps them happy, and she is always there for them. You can really see that Taylor is a true animal lover. When we come home, Remi and Buster are calm, relaxed, happy ,and clearly feel comfortable and loved. We really appreciate everything she does and we feel very lucky to have someone like her looking after them. Thank you so much, Taylor ! 🐾 🐾

About: I have worked in the veterinary profession since the early 90's and have experience of large and small animals. I have trained veterinary nurses, run puppy classes, taught basic dog training, qualified in common dog and cat behaviour problems, provided pet behaviour counselling and owned 3 dogs and multiple cats over the years. I would say that cats are my speciality as I worked at Cambridge Cat Clinic for 3 years and perfected my feline nursing skills. I am able to administer oral medications to all species and also injections if required, such as insulin. I am currently completing my training to become a counsellor (for humans) so I will be able to care for your pets around my studies and seeing my human clients. This allows me to be very flexible with regards to length of time needed to be with your pets. I will follow whatever routine has been established for your pets with regards to feeding, exercise, cuddles, grooming and any medication needed. I will have absolute respect for your wishes regarding where you want you pets to go i.e. indoors only, garden, park etc. I can provide regular updates about your pets while you are away to put your mind at rest.

Susan is a very calm and personable lady who looked after our 14 year old dog Archie for a long day whilst we attended an event. We have a large fenced in garden with lots of hiding places where Archie often sleeps but she kept a very close eye on him throughout the day. Archie took to her immediately and when we arrived home, it was clear he had enjoyed the day with her. Will definitely book Susan again and can certainly recommend her.

About: I provide reliable, attentive cat sitting with a strong focus on each pet’s individual needs and routine. What sets me apart is my calm, patient approach, which helps even shy or anxious cats feel comfortable in their own home. I have experience caring for kittens, including supporting feeding schedules and early socialisation, as well as senior cats who may need extra attention, medication administration, or gentle handling. I always prioritise your cat’s wellbeing, keeping their environment clean, maintaining their routine, and providing regular updates so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. Working from home allows me to offer a high level of flexibility and reliability when it comes to caring for your cat. I’m able to adjust my schedule to suit your needs, whether that’s early morning visits, daytime check-ins, or evening care. Because I’m not tied to a fixed workplace, I can also respond quickly to last-minute requests or changes, giving you extra peace of mind. This flexibility means your cat can enjoy consistent attention, regular feeding times, and plenty of companionship throughout the day, helping them feel relaxed and secure while you’re away I provide attentive, tailored care depending on whether I’m looking after your cat in your home or hosting them in mine. In a pet owner’s home, I focus on maintaining your cat’s usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. This includes feeding at their regular times, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, and spending quality time with them through play, grooming, or simply keeping them company. I also keep your home tidy, can bring in post, and provide regular updates so you know your cat is happy and well cared for.

She also kept us well informed during our absence, with cat updates, and of course plenty of photos. We will definitely be asking her to sit for us again, thank you Louise :).

About: • I'm an experienced live-in dog and house sitter who offers calm, consistent care, particularly for nervous, sensitive or rescue dogs who need patience and reassurance while their owners are away. • I've gained my experience through many successful house and pet sits, both independently and through TrustedHousesitters (where owners have consistently left excellent reviews). • Some dogs make friends straight away. Others need a little more time. I enjoy getting to know each dog as an individual and helping them feel safe, comfortable and settled while you're away. • I work online (part-time), so I can fit around your dog's routine and spend much of the day at home. This is ideal for dogs who are used to having company or who need a little longer to settle. • I love being outdoors and usually walk twice a day myself. Whether your dog enjoys long adventures or prefers a gentle sniff around the neighbourhood, I'm happy to adapt to whatever suits them best. • I always stick as closely as possible to your dog's normal routine, whether that's favourite walking routes, regular mealtimes or simply having a cuddle on the sofa. • I'm based in Colchester and regularly travel throughout London and the South East, with availability across the UK for longer bookings. • I've completed Canine First Aid training and I'm continuing to learn more about canine behaviour and body language because I genuinely enjoy understanding what makes each dog tick. • One of the reasons I started house and pet sitting is that my own rescue dog had such a lasting impact on me. She taught me the value of patience and consistency. After she died, I wasn't ready for another dog of my own, and looking after other people's dogs became a way to stay connected to the animals I love. • I know it's hard leaving your dog with someone new. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout your trip, and I'll always ask how often you'd like to hear from me. * I work online, so I can fit around your dog's routine and spend much of the day at home with them. * Morning walks, longer afternoon adventures or evening strolls, I can easily adapt to whatever routine your dog is used to. * I try to keep life as familiar as possible while you're away, so I do my best to follow your dog's usual routine for walks, meals, playtime and downtime. * I offer live-in dog and house sitting for overnight stays, weekends, holidays and longer bookings throughout the year. * Before a sit, I like to arrange a quick video call so we can chat through your dog's routine and make sure you feel completely comfortable before you head away. * Before each sit, I take the time to understand your dog's usual routine, from walks and mealtimes to favourite sleeping spots and the little things that help them feel settled. * I work online part-time, so I'm able to spend much of the day at home, providing companionship and helping your dog settle into their usual routine. * I'll keep you updated with regular photos and messages while you're away. I'll also ask how often you'd like to hear from me, so you can choose the level of contact that feels right for you. * I genuinely enjoy looking after people's homes and take pride in treating every property with the same care and respect I would my own. I see myself as a temporary guardian of your home as well as your dog, and I always leave everything exactly as I found it.

Ellie was really lovely, and accommodating - doing a last minute sit for me when I was going to stay with a friend. I never met her as she had to complete her work day before coming, but she found her way in smoothly and everything went blissfully. She sent me regular updates every couple of hours - unusually frequent, and I really enjoyed seeing my two having a good time - a little tug at the heart strings and a feeling of love every time I got a new photo. I’ve asked my usual sitters to send more frequent updates now! I’d thoroughly recommend Ellie and would have her back in a heartbeat! Thank you Ellie, from Sandra, Yola and Flo ☺️🐾🐾

Tania looked after our dogs, cats and house for 3 weeks and was fantastic. We were nervous about leaving them so long but she put our worries to rest from day 1 with lots of updates, pictures and videos. Having Tania house-sit meant the dogs kept their routines and weren’t at all anxious. Think they’ll miss Tania tbh, although we will definitely be using her services again in the future. Would highly recommend.

Philippa and David looked after Eddie my anxious, sometimes reactive Labrador for 8 days in July. They were fantastic with him. They seemed to understand his needs and the unpredictability of his reactivity which can be challenging for me, let alone someone new. They kept me up to date with photos which were appreciated. I came home to a very happy Eddie who had been well looked after. They left the house spotless. I would definitely recommend David & Philippa and will certainly be using them again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Forest Heath

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Forest Heath on Rover is £42.55 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 689 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Forest Heath. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Forest Heath walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest Heath choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
