“Nathan is great, he watched my pup and house sat for 4 days. He took her for walks and sent me updates with pictures daily. My pup seemed very happy when I got home. I would definitely rebook with him again!”

“I could not recommend Susanna enough! Mature beyond her years, she was fantastic with our 10 month old puppy, such as making sure to keep up our puppy’s training when out on her walks. Our dog is sadly struggling with health problems at the moment and Susanna made sure we were regularly kept updated on how she was doing, alongside keeping a keen eye on our pup to make sure she didn’t need her pain medication. Our pup fell in love with Susana and we are already looking at ways she can stay over with her again!”

“Charlie stayed at my house with my 9 yr old pup for 4 days and took her for walks! He also sent pictures everyday and my dog seemed very happy when I got home. Would definitely rebook again. Highly recommend!”

“Philippa and David looked after Eddie my anxious, sometimes reactive Labrador for 8 days in July. They were fantastic with him. They seemed to understand his needs and the unpredictability of his reactivity which can be challenging for me, let alone someone new. They kept me up to date with photos which were appreciated. I came home to a very happy Eddie who had been well looked after. They left the house spotless. I would definitely recommend David & Philippa and will certainly be using them again.”

“Ellie was really lovely, and accommodating - doing a last minute sit for me when I was going to stay with a friend. I never met her as she had to complete her work day before coming, but she found her way in smoothly and everything went blissfully. She sent me regular updates every couple of hours - unusually frequent, and I really enjoyed seeing my two having a good time - a little tug at the heart strings and a feeling of love every time I got a new photo. I’ve asked my usual sitters to send more frequent updates now! I’d thoroughly recommend Ellie and would have her back in a heartbeat! Thank you Ellie, from Sandra, Yola and Flo ☺️🐾🐾”

“Sophie has been great looking after Laszlo for the day! Always staying in touch and meeting up before hand. Everything has been so smooth and easy to sort out! I hope we can book in again for sure. Highly recommend :)”

“Eli was fantastic. Summer took to her very quickly (which is very rare). Summer was having a hard time with the original schedule we had set up so Eli quickly adapted the timings and even stayed the night because my pup was having a hard time alone overnight. I will be using her in the future as long as she is available.”

“Stacey-Leigh was absolutely fantastic, took her time to really understand what all animals needed and sent us lots of pictures throughout her time with them. We found it really reassuring and will absolutely be working with Stacey-Leigh again, she had such a way with animals 🤩”

“Natalie arrived on the arranged time and was very good at communicating once she had settled in and greeted the dogs. I received photos and updates during her stay Natalie was great with my gang, and they were very settled with her. I would recommend Natalie to anyone looking, personally would happily use again. Thank you Natalie 😊”

“Kai came to our rescue and looked after our pets ( including my sisters dog ) for the Easter weekend, I cannot recommend Kai more highly, you can tell he loves animals, he was very intuitive and empathetic with our doggies ( who can be slightly neurotic !) and as soon as he walked in they came to him and then wouldn't leave him alone ! He's a kind, calm and gentle soul and he also looked after the cottage very well, sent us regular pics and updates so we could relax knowing the pets were ok and he had things under control. We wholeheartedly recommend Kai and will definitely be booking him again. Thanks Kai ... you are a superstar 🌟”

“Excellent communicater. Sent lovely photos of Dot while I was away. I wasn't able to contact her much, but she was great. Very respectful of my flat, inwoyldnt know she was there. Dots very happy. I would highly recommend.”

About: I go for a 1-1.5hr walk every day and thought it would be nice to have a walking companion that also allows the dogs to get out and enjoy the fresh air. I have grown up around dogs. When I was a baby, our family had a springer spaniel that was with us for 13 years. After that, we adopted a Weimaraner (Murphy) who was a loving part of our family for a long time. Murphy was a dog with some behavioural issues which gave me an education in dealing with dogs of different temperaments - and sizes! I now live on my own and while work doesn’t enable me to properly look after my own dog, I saw this app as an opportunity to still be able to be around them. I have also looked after friends dogs in the past with breeds ranging from Malinois and German Shepherds to Rottweilers and English Bulldogs. Currently self-employed before moving back home to Bermuda at the end of this year. My average day involves waking up, going to the gym, cooking lunch, doing some work at my computer for a couple hours, before going for a 1-1.5hr walk/jog every day. I would be more than capable of looking after a dog between 12 and 5 every day, including taking your dog along for the walk/jog. I currently live in a house-share and while I wouldn’t be able to look after your pet overnight in my own home. I would be capable of looking after them in your home. I believe in leaving things how I find them and would be happy to also assist with minor tasks around the house. For example, unloading a dishwasher, hanging clothes to dry, dusting or vacuuming. I like to stay active and would enjoy playing fetch, tug of war, or any activity with any pet, as long as they were up for it!

Alongside many other beloved babies over these many years. There would be a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each of your cherished pets , much like adjusting walking or sitting styles for different breeds and temperaments, physically active and capable of managing high-energy breeds in all weather. . Which of course means I am available 7 days a week. Looking after your four legged friends is about fitting into your routine and theirs. I live next to the River Cam, which makes me nearby to all the local commons for your furry friends to run and have space. I also have a fenced and gated back garden for security and welfare of our fur babies. I do also own a cage should that be the way your pet is accustomed, nevertheless everything else would have to be provided by you and the way your babies are cared for is customized by how you/they like it. Unless emergency care/ last minute, I recommend/prefer a meet and greet before any decisions are made, to see how we fit.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Cambridgeshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
