About: I first became a "dog Mum" 15 years ago to our Westie, Elland, who sadly we lost recently. I sadly was that annoying "Dog Mum" who had pictures of her on my desk and booked holiday for her birthday each year. I took voluntary redundancy nearly 6 years ago so have been fortunate to spend quality time at home with her and take her out and about on our own or with her other doggy friends. Unfortunately she lost her hearing about 3 years ago so learnt quickly how to communicate with her with some basic sign language. She also developed dry eye disease so I had to administer drops 5 times each day. Two of these were determined by time so I had to ensure I was available to give her these on time. The last 5 months of her life, her arthritis worsened so I bought a buggy to help her whilst out for daily walks/sniffs. I have also looked after family dogs whilst they have been on holiday and have accomodated raw feeding for one of family dogs. I live with my husband in a bungalow. He still works but is here in the evenings and at weekends. I work during examination periods at a local college but can accomodate pet sitting around this as dates are known well in advance. My contract with the college is ona casual basis so dog sitting will be my priority. We have used a local dog sitter who stayed in our home when we went on holiday. I therefore understand the importance of providing important information to the pet sitter when leaving the pet. When I first stopped working I volunteered for a local hospice helping support a family who used their services, by walking their dog on a weekly basis to give them some respite and also encourage the dog to socilise. I did this for 12 months. I also volunteered at Wood Green Animal Charity during Covid restrictions. Although I was there to help in the fundraising office, we often had dogs who weren't settling in kennels, come and sit with us in the office for the day. Some were quite withdrawn so I learnt how to slowly gain their trust. I am retired so home all day. My husband works full time but is home in the evenings and at weekends. I do some casual exam invigilating but I know dates for this in advance so will not take on any work if pet sitting is booked. I am happy to be led by the owners on when and what activity their dog (s) are used to so am pretty flexible. I have acess to my own car so can take the dog to any appointments if required. I have a fully fenced in garden (6ft) I live in a village with lots of access to quiet walks in the countryside if required, as well as walks within the village itself. I am happy to book out local secure dog fields if agreed with the owner but this will involve driving to nearby fields. As previously mentioned we live in a bungalow so no stairs. We are based in a quiet cul-de-sac so if your dog is reactive to traffic, should not be a problm here. I have space for a medium size crate if required.

About: I have been an animal lover my entire life and I am hoping to work with animals as a full time job in the future. I recently completed my level 3 Animal Management qualification at college and am going to be starting university in September to study Veterinary Physiotherapy, so that I can achieve my dream of helping animals. I have previous work experience at the RSPCA looking after a range of dog breeds, including larger breeds like Huskies and Cane Corsos as well as small breeds like Chihuahuas and Terriers. During this experience, I have helped to walk dogs, clean out kennels, feed and play with dogs. I have also gained experience working with cats, rabbits, birds and other small animals at the RSPCA. I currently have a dog, who is a springer spaniel x poodle called Doodle, and a cat, called Pancake. I spend much of my free time taking Doodle on walks and playing and cuddling with her and Pancake whenever they want to. I have also on many occasions looked after pets of friends and family, including labradors, spaniels, jack russells, beagles, cats and rabbits. I am currently available most of the time during the summer apart from a few days where I am away. I will be starting university in September so I won't be available then. The safety of your pets will always be my number one priority and I will ensure that I keep an eye on them so that they are safe and happy. I will listen to, follow and respect any rules or boundaries that you have when looking after your pets to keep both you and your pets happy and comfortable.

I have a Boston Terrier called Poppy who I take out 2 times a day for walks already and who would love to make new friends and play. About: I grew up with dogs. My parents managed a very successful boarding establishment which I worked in regularly and we always had dogs of our own: Rhodesian ridgebacks, rescue greyhounds, dachshunds to name a few. I've regularly looked after other people's dogs and have never had any complaints. My husband and I have a beautiful little jack russell whom we adore. My husband works from home, so is home all day to ensure that your dogs have company and I'll take responsibility for feeding and any medication required. While I work approximately 38 weeks a year, my husband works from home full time and is available to keep your pet company throughout the day. My mother, who worked with dogs for 55 years prior to retiring, also visits us regularly and is happy to help out with any dogs staying. We love heading out walks; dog walking is already part of our daily routine, with longer walks and adventures being a favourite weekend hobby. Check that they can't jump the tall fence in the garden, or are likely to dig underneath it. Lots of play time interacting with us and our jack russell, Maple. Feeding time(s) as per owners' requests. Medication administered as required. Plenty of opportunities to do the toilet (both in the garden and on walks)
“Our one year old cocker Frank recently spent a a couple of days with Claire & Ross. Frank tends to suffer from separation anxiety, however he very happily goes to Claire & Ross. We find Claire & Ross to be terrific hosts! Claire is soft & calm & Ross is jolly & commanding and very chilled, a great combination for looking after a lively anxious young dog. Ross took Frank on long walks along with his own dog & Frank had the run of the house which helped to make him feel and at home, so much better than kennels. I would definitely recommend Claire & Ross, in my opinion you won’t find better dog sitters!”
“Laura was so kind and accommodating. She met me before hand to make sure our dogs were a good fit, and we were able to take a walk together. On the day she watched my dog she was so flexible and kind. I arrived to pick up my dog late in the evening, much later than I really should have, but Laura was nothing but sweet. About: I’ve lived with and looked after many pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals. I regularly look after my friends dogs, cats and other small pets. I have a passion for dogs and although I don’t currently have my own I regularly walk dogs daily with friends and/or family. I’ve helped train puppies and also spent time caring for elder dogs. We’ve owned dogs for over 22 years, both small and medium breeds, and they have always been cherished members of our family. We have a 2 year old daughter who loves animals as well but we request that your pet also likes and is experienced with children. Poppy is also fine with cats and we have looked after cats before I am not working currently so can focus on your pet’s care. I am flexible in terms of drop off and pick up and I can walk the dog twice a day I have a big house with a fenced garden that your pet can run around and play in. Our village is very quiet and safe

About: I’ve lived with and looked after many pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals. I regularly look after my friends dogs, cats and other small pets. I have a passion for dogs and although I don’t currently have my own I regularly walk dogs daily with friends and/or family. I’ve helped train puppies and also spent time caring for elder dogs. Although I don’t currently have a pet of my own I have pet beds, bowls and other toys etc as I regularly look after dogs at my house. I make sure my house is pet friendly and love to get to know every animal I pet sit. A part of forming a bond and making sure they are cared for is understanding the behaviours and habits they already have and keeping as routine as you can to keep them safe and happy. I’ve regularly pet sat at friends homes and always treat their animals and homes with love and care.
