About: I have been dog, cat, and house sitting since childhood! I have volunteered at SPCA and have always found or adopted my pets. I grew up with a golden retriever and several cats. My schedule is very flexible right now, as I recently relocated to bury st Edmund's. Hoping to make the most of my time by helping out others and getting to spend time with their furry family. I have spent many years caring for pets of friends and family in their homes. I've always felt that it's easier to keep them in their home where they are familiar and comfortable and I am the one who is in their space. They are already missing their parents (owners) no need to add more stress.

Jack was really good with my 2 dogs, Bess and Bramley. He came twice in the day and they seemed very happy on my return. Jack let me know when he was there and it was just as we’d planned so I was so pleased. Really kind, thoughtful and efficient.

About: I have plenty of time and love to give to your dogs. I have lots of experience with caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. I am confident and comfortable with all different dog personalities. I also have experience with senior dogs, dogs with medical conditions and young puppies. Just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate their needs. I have had my own dog for the past decade, a Jack Russell who I rescued in America who has now sadly passed and now we have a lovely ex-racing greyhound. I truly understand the importance of your dogs and that dogs are a member of your family. Please read my recent reviews. Here is a link for £15 off your first Rover booking https://www.rover.com/sit/jd37374 I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of time and attention throughout the day. If your dog is staying with us then I will ensure I am at home all day, so they get the attention they need, with the exception if I need to run short errands of less than an hour (quick trip to supermarket etc). I absolutely love walking dogs and spending time outside. I have experience caring for dogs of many breeds and sizes. I live in a detached home in a quiet area with a large secure fully fenced garden (7ft fence). Your dog will have access to the garden whenever they need. There are lots of nice places to walk near my house including fields, woods and walking trails. Your dog can have the entire run of the downstairs of our home while they are here. We also have a dog gate for the kitchen door to ensure safety at night. Our dog, Coco, likes spending time with other dogs. When I’m caring for pets, their safety and comfort always come first. During walks, I make sure each dog is securely leashed with properly fitted gear, and I stick to safe, familiar routes. I pay close attention to their behaviour and surroundings to help keep them calm and happy at all times. For drop-in visits and dog sitting in your home, I follow the owner’s routine closely from feeding and playtime to any special instructions or medications. I always make sure pets feel comfortable in their own environment, keeping things tidy and ensuring they have fresh water and lots of affection before I leave. Communication and trust are key, so I keep owners updated with photos and messages after and during visits if requested. Please note for walks during hot weather, if it is too hot to safely walk your dog I will switch their walk to a drop-in visit (if required) where I take them out for a toilet break/let them out into the garden, spend time with them and ensure their water/food is topped up. That way they are still comfortable and have their basic needs met whilst you are out of the house.

About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover and understand just how important pets are as part of the family. Growing up, I had six cats and a Golden Labrador, and I now have a lovely Cocker Spaniel of my own, so I’m experienced with both cats and dogs and comfortable caring for pets of different ages and personalities. I work full-time as a Cardiac Physiologist at West Suffolk Hospital, and in my free time I enjoy taking my Cocker Spaniel on long walks, spending time in the garden, and being outdoors. I’m available for pet care in the mornings and evenings before and after work, as well as throughout the weekend. I can also offer overnight pet sitting when needed. If you’re looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced pet lover to look after your furry family members, I’d be delighted to help whenever I’m available. Please feel free to send me a message — I’d love to hear from you! 🙂 I work Monday - Friday 8-17:00 at West Suffolk Hospital, so am available mornings and evenings. I also have full availability on weekends, so please message me to find out more info. 🙂 I know how important it is to have someone reliable looking after your pets, and I’ll treat your cat with the same care and attention I’d give my own. Whether your cat loves cuddles and company or prefers their space, I’m happy to adapt to their personality and routine.

About: Growing up in a house full of rescue cats and dogs ignited my passion for animal welfare, which goes above and beyond in both my professional and personal life. I understand how daunting it can be leaving your furry one in someone else’s hands and I ensure the best quality care catering to any specific needs, and guaranteed photos of your pet so rest assured you know they’re having fun. I’m able to be flexible working with your house sitting and home boarding needs. At home, I live with both a very friendly dog and loving cat, so your pet would have to be okay with this, otherwise I’m happy to house sit! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions 🤗 I'm experienced in walking dogs of all sizes, chihuahuas to great danes, and can promise walking routes and lengths dependant on your dog's requirements. I'm experienced in house sitting for both dogs and cats, and to ensure your mind is at ease, I keep in full contact with photos of your loved ones throughout time away from them.

About: I’m a 33 year old female living in a flat in Bury St Edmunds. I have a marketing job with 9-5:30 flexible hours and I’m currently working from home and free on the weekends. In my spare time I love to go out on long walks & adventures and enjoy them so much better with a dog. I don’t have a dog myself but I have house sat and boarded a range of gorgeous different types of dog on this app and we had great walks together to different parks. I’d love to help people in the area with walks or boarding / looking after their dog whenever needed :). I’d be so excited to look after anyone’s animal/s in general and to help anyone out :). I’m very independent and live by myself but I am very close to my parents in south Cambridge where we all love to go on walks together too. Please message me if you would like to know anything more or require any further information :). I work from home so I am able to offer daycare during these times and I also offer boarding and house sitting. My partner Laurie also likes to help out and is usually around when I board dogs at my place. He enjoys joining us for walks and playing with the dogs. For house sitting Laurie will also join me so your pets get all the extra attention and love. We are always happy to come by for a meet up/ introduction beforehand so you get to meet us both. I have a shared garden for regular smaller walk/ toilet breaks but during your dogs stay I will also venture out for longer walks. I’ll make sure your dog gets all the exercise, love & attention they need! Please note that I do live in a flat/apartment where there are always neighbours coming/going at different times in the area. I am aware that sometimes seeing/hearing strangers can make a dog anxious/ bark a lot. Please consider this before booking :) many thanks. Pet care fits into my routine easily, as I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to give dogs the attention, walks, and care they need throughout the day. I prioritize a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment by following each pet’s routine, keeping spaces secure, and always treating them with patience and kindness. Whether in my home or the owner’s, I maintain trust by respecting their rules, providing updates, and ensuring the pets feel comfortable and cared for.

About: My name is Hayley, I have had dogs since I was 15. I absolutely love all dogs, although bulldogs have a very special place in my heart! We have a 5 year old resident French bulldog who is extremely sociable and absolutely adores making new friends, we take lots of very enrichment filled walks along rivers, fields and woodlands. We hire enclosed fields with swimming facilities for warmer days. We have cooling mats and paddling pools in the garden along with lots of enrichment toys and activities, our evenings are usually spent snuggled together on the sofa after a fun filled day of exploring. I work from home on a very flexible schedule so your dogs will have someone with them 24/7. We have a resident French bulldog who adores all dogs. We take daily walks through the woods and along the river, with plenty of sniffing breaks. We also visit the enclosed field regularly for a well earned strech of the legs and run for the more athletic dogs, I tailor the dogs care fully to their needs, we do a minimum of 2 walks a day ( weather dependent for certain breeds ) plus we have lots of enrichment activities at home for them to enjoy. I have a fully fenced garden, stair gates in place for your dogs safety, plenty of treats and space on the sofa! We are happy to tailor to your dogs needs with beds, sofa or crate sleeping, I have over 20 years experience with all different breeds of dogs.

Every pet has its own unique charms, and my extensive personal experience caring for both my own animals and others' gives me patience and understanding when getting to know them. Additionally, my part-time work is directly with pet care, giving me a wealth of professional expertise, supplemented by undertaking specialised dog first aid training. Fully DBS checked and insured. Katy looked after our Jack Russell Mazie while we were away for 3 days. Katy is professional, honest, reliable and caring. Mazie loved interacting with Katy and playing with her many tennis balls! Katy is very punctual with the drop-in service we booked so no need to worry about her turning up on time. In addition, on each drop-in we received some lovely photos of Mazie on walks and in the garden. We came home to a very happy dog. We would definitely book Katy again and highly recommend her pet care services.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Edmundsbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
