I understand some dogs need to go out to exercise/toilet or simply enjoy house /garden play /puppy play visits which i do daily in order to run on or off the lead and to toilet and be content until you come home .

About: I have been around dogs for most of my life and love getting out for walks and enjoy the companionship that we can give each other. I currently have my own dog, Poppy, who is nearly 12. She still loves her walks and snuggling up next to me. I have experience of looking after family and friend’s dogs in my home and in their own home. I currently work full-time Monday to Friday term time as a teaching assistant. I am available on weekends and during school holidays so have plenty of time to look after you pooch. I am more than happy to take your dog for a walk, this is something I could even fit in after work. I would like to look after your dog in my home, or in their own home, whatever is best for the dog and you. I live in a semi- detached house with a fenced garden at the back in a beautiful village. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby in local woods/ fields. I also love exploring so am more than happy to walk your dog in its own familiar area if it has a favourite place to go. I have experience of looking after family and friend’s dogs in my own home and also in their own home. I thoroughly enjoyed having the dogs in their own environment, exploring their area on walks.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to chickens, horses, and even a rescue fawn! Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, including spending time in New Zealand where I was fortunate enough to house-sit and care for some wonderful dogs. I’ve also built up experience through TrustedHousesitters, looking after pets in their own homes and making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owners are away. Now that I’m back in the UK and settled in York, I’d love to continue doing what I enjoy and help care for your pets. I’m primarily available for house-sitting and dog walks at weekends, as I work full-time during the week. I’d also be happy to consider boarding, although as I live in a flat, this would depend on the size, temperament and individual needs of your pet. I live in a flat in the city centre, and although I don’t have a garden, I’m a very outdoorsy person and love getting out for walks. I’m often down by the river exploring the local area, usually with a coffee stop at one of the many lovely cafés along the way — so there’s no shortage of opportunities for walks and adventures! When house-sitting, I’m very happy to follow your usual routines and instructions closely. I know every pet is different, so I’ll take the time to understand their individual needs and make sure they feel comfortable, happy and well cared for while you’re away.

“Maddie was super patient with our 3 month old puppy, Haribo. This was a booking made on extremely short notice due to a last minute cancellation by another sitter, and so we were extremely lucky that Maddie agreed to take him in for 2 nights. Moreover, she took the time to meet him before the booking and immediately put my and my husband's minds at ease. Haribo was definitely well-taken care of. She was very keen on sticking to his routines, was very caring and affectionate towards him. She took him to the dog park, watched Bluey with him, snuggled with him on the sofa, and took him out regularly. He had accidents but Maddie was so understanding about everything. Haribo def had the time of his life and is a happy pup 😍 we have requested another booking with her because she's amazing!”

About: I’ve taken care of numerous dogs, aging from pups to seniors. I have maintained training programmes, as well as managing nervous and aggressive dogs. My experience in care work means I am exceptionally attentive and empathetic. I have a flexible schedule as a student. I am looking for part time work, and I am happy to work around pet owners requirements. My approach differs between cats and dogs. Cats: I keep a calm, quiet environment with no loud noises or surprises. I like to give the cat the space it deserves, and allow it to approach me when ready for cuddles or playing. Dogs: My fenced garden means easy access to outside. Lots of playing, goofing around and mental stimulation.
