“I can honestly say Louise is the loveliest person. She looked after my little pug Winnie with so much love and care. I felt so reassured that she was being looked after properly. I got regular photos and updates of Winnie which was lovely. I can’t thank her enough. I hope Winnie can stay with her again.”

“Louie had a fantastic time with Lesley , having never been left with anyone but family , I was worried he might not settle , but from the moment he walked through the door , he was at home and welcomed. With regular updates and pictures we were able to enjoy a family wedding and holiday knowing Louie was in the best hands. Thank you so much for having him and taking such good care of him. We would love to book him in again if needed. Would highly recommend”

“Chrissy has been amazing looking after our doggo for 6 nights. She kept us updated daily with photos and we returned to a relaxed and very at home pup when we went to pick her up. Would use again and can highly recommend.”

“Thank you for looking after Bowser for a week. I really appreciated the updates and the gorgeous photos. He looked so happy and content. He has had the best holiday with you and Daisy. To know he was safe and relaxed with you, made my holiday even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Katie to look after anyones precious dogs. Everything is just perfect. Thank you again. See you soon x”

“We approached Vanessa at late notice ass our usual sitter cancelled and I was going to be in town for work so needed Gary cared for. They have a lovely home and were super welcoming when I arrived after a long drive. I would really recommend and will be using Vanessa whenever I am in town. The constant pictures and videos of our happy little boy showed their family offered him nothing but love over the 3 nights he was there.”

“Cariana was again so understanding for Tsubasa’s needs and gave him tender care and lots of love. Tsubasa is very lucky to have her so close. We will definitely go back for another holiday booking!”

“Joanne was amazing! We were a bit nervous at first about using a pet sitter, but Joanne arranged a meeting in a nice neutral space and I could tell from her interactions with my dog that she cared about dogs and we left her with our beloved little girl. While away, Joanne sent lots of videos and from the videos we could tell that our dog was really being looked after well - the dog was really relaxed in the videos, was being played with, and looked very very comfortable with Joanne. So comfortable in fact that we were a little worried our dog would want to stay with her when we came back, as our dog was definitely being pampered! We will definitely use Joanne again when we next go on holiday, so please don't pick her for the same week as we want! (just kidding).”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for most of my life. Growing up, my family had a female Pomeranian who was with us for over 10 years, followed by a female Husky. Caring for them gave me experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities. Now I live with my partner and our spayed female Cockapoo, Loopy. Looking after her has taught me the importance of understanding each dog’s individual needs, routine and personality. I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs, including a large Old English Sheepdog, whom I bathed and cared for, as well as several Cockapoos. One of my friend’s Cockapoos even stayed overnight in our home for a week, so I’m experienced in helping dogs settle into a new environment and feel comfortable. I genuinely love spending time with dogs. I enjoy taking them for walks, visiting parks and going on countryside walks together. I always pay close attention to their behaviour, comfort and wellbeing, and I’ll care for your dog with the same love and attention that I give my own. As a freelancer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs plenty of time, attention and companionship throughout the day. Caring for dogs is already a big part of my daily life, as I share my home with my partner and our lovely Cockapoo, Loopy. As a Cockapoo owner myself, I understand the energy, affection and attention this breed needs, and I’m always happy to adapt to each dog’s own routine and personality. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved and at home. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always come first. I have a friendly, spayed female Cockapoo who enjoys the company of other dogs. I introduce dogs gradually and never leave them together unsupervised until I’m confident they’re comfortable with each other. I’ll carefully follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, medication (if needed) and any special instructions. Every dog is different, so I take the time to understand their personality and make sure they feel relaxed and secure. My goal is for your dog to enjoy their stay just as much as you enjoy your time away.
“Angelina is absolutely fantastic and I could not recommend her more highly! She accommodated a very last minute request and was so helpful. Betty absolutely loved staying and was very comfortable around Angelina so we will definitely be booking again. Thank you!”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to chickens, horses, and even a rescue fawn! Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, including spending time in New Zealand where I was fortunate enough to house-sit and care for some wonderful dogs. I’ve also built up experience through TrustedHousesitters, looking after pets in their own homes and making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m very happy to provide references from my TrustedHousesitters stays if you’d like to hear about my experience from previous pet owners. Now that I’m back in the UK and settled in York, I’d love to continue doing what I enjoy and help care for your pets. While I’m not currently able to have a dog of my own, this gives me the perfect opportunity to enjoy plenty of walks, playtime and cuddles with yours! I’ll always treat your pets as if they were my own, taking the time to understand their individual personalities, routines and needs. Whether your dog loves long walks and adventures, a good game of fetch, or simply curling up on the sofa for some company, I’m here to make sure they feel happy, comfortable and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to leave your pet in someone you can trust, and I’ll do everything I can to give you peace of mind while they’re in my care. I’m primarily available for house-sitting and dog walks at weekends, as I work full-time during the week. Depending on the location, I may also be able to offer midday dog walks during the week, so please feel free to get in touch and I can see what might work. I’d also be happy to consider boarding, although as I live in a flat, this would depend on the size, temperament and individual needs of your pet. I’m always happy to have a chat beforehand to make sure I can provide a comfortable and suitable environment for them. I live in a flat in the city centre, and although I don’t have a garden, I’m a very outdoorsy person and love getting out for walks. I’m often down by the river exploring the local area, usually with a coffee stop at one of the many lovely cafés along the way — so there’s no shortage of opportunities for walks and adventures! When house-sitting, I’m very happy to follow your usual routines and instructions closely. I know every pet is different, so I’ll take the time to understand their individual needs and make sure they feel comfortable, happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“My two dogs have clearly been loved and very well looked after whilst with Emma. They were a little sad to come home! Highly recommended and will always be my first port of call when looking for a safe place for my dogs. Thank you so much Emma x”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jane looked after my dog, Kobe, for two full days and one night. I couldn’t be happier with the care she gave him. From the moment we met, she was friendly, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. Kobe was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after when I picked him up. He had an enjoyable time with her very well behaved two dogs and cat, gizmo. It was obvious that Jane genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and I really appreciated the updates and the attention she gave him. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Kobe with her again and would highly recommend Jane to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Thank you Jane, you are fantastic!”
“We were so happy with our decision to have Gregory board with Jennifer and her family. Shortly after making the booking, Jennifer reached out and we planned a short pre-meet before so that Gregory and her lovely dog Coco could meet, and we could share some information about them both. It was clear immediately that Jennifer and her family very much cared about making sure Gregory was going to have a comfortable stay with them, and he definitely did. During the boarding, Jennifer kept us updated with pictures of Gregory doing all his favourite things and he looked to be having an absolute splendid time, seemingly as comfortable as he would be in his own home! We will definitely be asking Jennifer to look after Gregory again in the future! 5 stars.”

“Sofie looked after our two young cats for the second time, and we were so happy to have her look after them again. She kept us updated, did everything we asked and took great care of them. “What an amazing experience! Johnny looked after our cat for a week while we were in Morocco- we came back to a happy shiny cat and a pristine house. He is respectful, thoughtful and very friendly. Luna has the best time and I can’t recommend her new friend Johnny highly enough! Brilliant service!”

“Ewa is an excellent cat sitter! She was very organised and great at communicating with us, the cat seemed very happy to see her and was in great form when we returned and the house and our plants were well looked after.”

“Ciara was an amazing cat sitter. On first meeting, I knew she was right for the job - very calm and gentle. One of our cats is quite anxious about meeting new people but Ciara had obviously done her homework and read our cats' biographies as she won Peggy over with the laser pen! She sent us pictures and updates throughout our weekend away which were very comforting. The girls interacted with her far more than we expected - testament to her kind nature. We will be using her from now on and highly recommend her services.”

“Claudia was a delight to work with. My cat Helga loved her and immediately bonded with her, which is always good to see, and Claudia not only went above and beyond to accomodate my cat's slightly unusual feeding routine, but also sent wonderful updates about their interactions, accompanied by photos so I could be totally assured all was well at home.”

About: Hi, my name is Sophie! I’ve looked after cats my whole life, having grown up with two beautiful long-haired cats, Harry and Hermione. Alongside caring for my own pets, I’ve regularly looked after cats and dogs for friends, neighbours and family while they’re away, and I understand how important it is to keep your cat comfortable and happy in their own home. Growing up around cats has helped me understand their different behaviours, needs and personalities. Every cat is different, whether they’re confident and playful, shy and cautious, independent, affectionate, or a little bit of everything! I always take the time to get to know their individual temperament and let them set the pace, making sure they feel safe, relaxed and cared for. I’m confident with feeding, litter care, playtime, cuddles and, of course, giving out plenty of Dreamies! 🐱 I’ll make sure your cat gets lots of attention and care while you’re away, while respecting their routine and giving them space when they need it. I will always provide regular updates as part of any visit, to give you peace of mind during your time away from your furry friend. I’m predominantly available before and after work for visits, but I regularly work from home, so I have some flexibility during the day too. I am based in York and happy to reach you on foot, via bike or car. Please do reach out if you have any questions or specific requirements!

I am reliable and trustworthy and would follow the owners instructions, making sure they have a safe, clean environment.

“Marcy has looked after my cats a few times and she is fantastic. She looks after them really well and keeps me regularly updated with photos and comments on how they are. I have had both visits to my house and boarding at hers and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to someone else”

“Kelly was a fabulous sitter who took care of our cat superbly whilst we were away. She communicated regularly and sent us pictures of Tiggy’s escapades. I would thoroughly recommend her to others.”

“We have just arrived back from 10 days away. We booked Gemma to look after our two cats. We haven’t had the cats long and being rescue cats they get very stressed and upset at anything that changes their routine. Gemma called in for two drop in visits each day whilst we were away. About: I am a huge animal lover, have had dogs my whole life and currently have a 3 year old female Cockapoo who loves play dates. I also helped to care for my 2 elderly family dogs who had arthritis and hip dysplasia and needed daily medication. Having been through separation anxiety with my own dog, I know how important it is to get the best care for them, with someone you can trust. I guarantee to care for your dog as though they are my own and give them all the love and attention they need. I also know how expensive dog care can be so I aim to keep my rates low to help people with access to affordable and reliable care. I work from home so can be with your dog 24/7. I can walk them with my dog before and after work and they will have access to the garden all day. I have a completely enclosed garden and my dog Leni will keep your fur baby company. She loves to play but can also be very calm when needed and usually gets along with all dogs.

About: Having over 25 years of experience looking after and owning dogs, dog walking for senior clients and dogs would never be a problem, same with puppies. Also have 4 years of pet shop experience so I’ve seen and heard it all. I’m fully available during the week and weekends between 6am to 10pm. But more than willing to discuss what’s needed for your pet care if it falls outside those hours. Safety and respect is crucial when being in other people’s homes. How ever you would like things done is exactly how it will be done.
“The dogs had such a great time today and Octavia was a life saver for a long day in the office for us. She looked after them so well and made sure they got their treat and a full water bowl when they got back in this warm weather. Cannot recommend enough!”

About: Having grown up with different breeds and owning a three-legged rescue dog who required additional care and training, I have developed a strong understanding of the individual needs and personalities of dogs. This experience has given me patience, confidence, and the ability to adapt to different temperaments, routines, and care requirements. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and reliable environment. I can work remotely during the week and have availability over weekends, which allows me to have more flexible and cater the individual pet's needs. My priority is creating a safe, trusting environment where pets feel secure and loved. I treat every animal as an individual — paying attention to their personality, comfort levels, and any special needs. Pet parents can relax knowing their pets are cared for with patience, consistency, and genuine affection.
About: I have had pets since I was 10 years old. I have had cats, dogs and kittens and also rabbits. I have experience looking after people’s kittens/cats/senior cats and also puppies/adult dogs and senior dogs. I have medication administration experience as our old senior cat had medical conditions which required medication. I love looking after furbabies to ensure their individual needs are being met taking into consideration their different personalities. I currently work a 9-5 job Monday to Friday but I am free evenings and over the weekend. Over the weekend I am more flexible to look after pets in my own home, take them for walks and do drop in sessions. I can also offer dog walking/ drop in sessions in the evening after work hours. I have a fenced backyard for your furbaby and I am a 5 minute walk away from a field. I am available to meet up prior to a sit/walk or drop in so I am able to meet you and your furbaby so you can assess who is going to look after your family member.

About: As a lifelong animal lover I started caring for dogs at age 15 when a new neighbour moved in with a beautiful black staffy. Since then I've taken any opportunity I can to walk and care for dogs. Through travel I've had the opportunity to look after dogs in various places and enjoy the companionship and home like feel that furry friends offer. From walks in nature, play sessions, and caring for their needs, every interaction I have with dogs is filled with care and attention. I've cared for dogs through their highs and lows, nurturing them back to health after surgeries and offering love and joy. I understand the reliability and trust needed when finding someone to care for your dog. I am DBS checked (certificate available to see upon request) and I offer a flexible approach and an attentive nature. I work from home and plan my own work schedule so I can be very flexible and always present when walking or caring for your pet. I have a fenced garden that's completely secure. I also have plenty of space and home comforts inside for your pet to play, lounge, sleep, or eat.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. For the past decade, I’ve owned and cared for more specialized pets like ferrets, which has given me a deep understanding of patience, attentiveness, and individualized care. I especially love dogs and have experience training puppies as well as caring for senior dogs who need a little extra gentleness and support. From high-energy youngsters to calm, elderly companions, I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s unique personality and needs. No dog feels unfamiliar to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I'm available most (if not all) days of the week currently and have plenty of time in my day to care for your loving pet. I'll care for your pet in your own home to your standards and instructions including play, treats, and meals. I can also care for them in my home, but have only a limited terraced garden space for them to play outside (my home is big for roaming, for more indoor inclined dogs).

About: Hi! My name is Meg. I’ve had pets of my own for over 20 years. I have been pet-sitting since I was 12 with a ton of different animals - dogs, cats, gerbils/ hamsters, bunnies, lizards, etc. In the past several years I have cared for my cat with chronic kidney disease and my older dog with arthritis, so I am knowledgeable on senior care & medication management. I am very flexible. I have a part time job outside of this with a schedule I can rearrange so I am available basically 7 days a week. I make sure fresh water, food (when mealtimes or as needed), a cosy spot to chill out, and company are always available. I have experience with anxious dogs and know how much a loved toy or treat can help.

I would keep a good routine, with feeding, making sure their pets food is fresh in clean bowls with access to fresh water. I would exercise them to suit their needs. I am happy to bathe, brush, clean teeth if they allow but I do not clip nails. I would give medication according to owner’s instructions. I would ensure harnesses, leads are secure before leaving on a walk and car restraints are secured before transporting. Pets are allowed on our chairs and sofas and beds and I would like them to feel safe, relaxed and comfortable. I can crate if required. I would give positive praise and fussing, helping your pet to feel at home in our home!

About: Hi! Thank you for considering me to care for your pets - I know how important they are! I’m a huge animal lover but unfortunately cannot have pets of my own right now. Therefore, petsitting/dog-walking allows me to care for animals and help out others. :-) Currently, I live just off Fulford Road right outside the city walls in a spacious three-bedroom terraced house, with an enclosed back garden. We do allow pets on our furniture, as long as that’s acceptable to their owners! I do have a full-time job, but I work from home which gives me plenty of flexibility. I can also spend all my time with your pet, which is especially helpful for ones that have a hard time being away from their owner. My husband and I are also very active and will happily take active pets out for multiple walks a day! Throughout my life, I have had a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, sugar gliders, and guinea pigs. I’ve been a dog-sitter for others (including many in the U.S.), with many repeat pets! I’m open to providing a variety of services, including day visits, walks, boarding, and more. I have experience with puppies and kittens, up through pets that are older. My care can be tailored to suit your needs, including special requests and medications. I can also pick up and drop off your pets, as long as you are located within a reasonable distance from my home. Thank you for looking, and I look forward to hearing from you! I work full time but completely remotely with a flexible schedule! This means I can cater my day to your pet’s needs, whether that’s more toilet breaks or a longer walk. I live in a spacious three bedroom terraced house with an enclosed back garden. For nice walks, we are mere steps away from a river walk and park. As to visits in the pet owner’s home, I am happy to go through any steps to ensure both your pet and home are safe while you’re away.

Growing up with two cats and a mini schnauzer, I know the importance of knowing your pet is in safe, competent hands with somebody you can trust when you are away, and I promise to deliver excellent care while giving you that peace of mind. Whether your pet needs a walk, daily care or just some company, I'd be happy to help while keeping you updated through the process. I have enjoyed previous dog walking and cat-sitting for family and friends, and I am eager to continue this through Rover. In term time I am a university student, however I do not have many contact hours so I am very flexible in what times and days I can provide care for your pet! I will follow the instructions for your individual pet and provide them with a calm presence when I take care of them while taking notice of their body language to assess what they need. Additionally, in the case of home visits I will ensure your house is locked and secure after I leave.
About: My passion for caring for pets and ensuring they feel loved and safe is imperial. I can match the energy of your pet, whether they are calm or energetic so they feel right at home. I am currently a student and have a lot of independent study time that I can do from anywhere. I typically have Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays off, as well as the weekend. I enjoy going on walks and spending time outdoors and love the company of a pet! I will ensure your pet is safe and protected at all times. I will be sure to confirm if they can be with other animals or humans and make sure they are always comfortable. I am a very organized and clean individual and will keep your home tidy.
About: Had 4 different dogs in my lifetime, all who were loved until the age of 18, aswell as 2 cats, and have experience dealing with dogs all different natures and breeds. I love taking care of them and keeping them safe and being around animals brings me much joy. One of my current dogs being 18, and my other being 1, means I have to deal with both senior and youthful energy all the time, teaching me alot. I'm currently in my first year at York St John University, although have lots of free time all week, so I'm happy to help out during the week and on weekends! I love to spend time with animals, so I am extremely flexible, and will likely be available whenever required 😁 I'm happy to adapt in whatever scenario to care for any pets, I'm happy to feed them, play with them, chill with them, keep an eye on them, take them out for walks, smother them with love, whatever you require!
About: Hello I've been looking after dogs for around three years now and all the owners I have helped have given me great feedback on my service. Above all I am caring and professional and treat your pet as if it were my own. I work from home all day and so I can care for animals around my work schedule. I love to take dogs for walks from my home in York and am also able to stay at your home if that's of interest for you. I can happily accommodate any of your specific needs, just let me know what it is you need and we can happily have a chat in advance to allay any of your concerns.
About: I have 3 years of experience working as a kennel assistant in a veterinary practice, caring for patients and cleaning out their kennels. I regularly fed, cleaned, gave medication and walked the pets in the practice. I also helped nurses to administer injections, and help with newborn animals and end-of-life care. I grew up with cats, dogs, budgies and Guinea pigs, and both parents were vets so we regularly had overnight patients staying with us. I have more recently lived with flatmates and co-cared for their pets such as cats and dogs. I have dog- and cat-sat informally for friends and family. I love animals and know how to care for them with compassion, love, and authority where needed. I work full-time in a remote position for a sustainability initiative and have time to look after your lovely pets between 6-9am, between 12-2pm (depending on meetings) and after 6pm on weekdays. On occasion, I have to be in the office in London, or on work trips abroad which can reduce my regular availability. I live in a flat with a flatmate who is also a cat and dog lover, and can on occasion host pets there. To note, while I try to keep my availability up-to-date, the nature of my work and personal life (I am a primary carer for a cancer patient) can sometimes affect my availability, although I try to keep a consistent schedule. I live in a raised ground-floor flat near some wonderful green spaces for walking your dog. I live with a flatmate who is also a cat and dog lover, and we both grew up surrounding by large and small animals. Our home is down a cul-de-sac with little traffic, and is a generally peaceful place without much noise. Our neighbours have a dog who is very well-behaved, and pets are allowed in our building, however we do not have our own pets, nor any equipment that goes alongside that! So we would hugely appreciate it if you can bring your own bowls/beds with you when requesting overnight or daytime stays :)
“Emma is a very personable young lady who is very confident and capable with handling dogs. She has a relaxed and friendly approach with owners and has quickly achieved a happy rapport with our excitable and cuddlesome 2year old girl. Our Staffy Misty gives her a warm welcome and likes to be next to her and brings her toys for play. Most importantly Misty is comfortable with and happy to be with Emma. We will be using Emma whenever she is available and Misty needs home sitting. Emma provides a responsible and reliable able service at all times.”

Thank you!”

“My two dogs have clearly been loved and very well looked after whilst with Emma. They were a little sad to come home! Highly recommended and will always be my first port of call when looking for a safe place for my dogs. Thank you so much Emma x”

“Nathan was absolutely amazing and Meg loved boarding with him. Nathan was very flexible with times and catered well to Meg's care needs. I'd definitely recommend his services! I was regularly updated and sent photos of how Meg was doing too. Nathan has a lovely personality and is really professional. We shall see you in the near future x”

“Jaye and Johnny put us at ease with our elderly miniature schnauzer Salt from the moment we met them. Warm, kind and attentive with a clear love for canine family members we were confident Salt was going to fit right in and they would take care of our old guy who had a few are related health issues. They sent several photos of their time caring for him over the 3 nights he stayed with them and Jaye gave us assurances he was doing just great. They bonded so quickly with him and great they live so conveniently close by to us too so that was a bonus. Would whole heartedly recommend Jaye and Johnny to others looking for a canine home away from home ! Thanks again”

“Ewan was great and Dexter took to him straight away on the meet and greet. So much so that he didn't even look back when I dropped him off. He was very contented on his return and Ewan gave regular updates and pics which were reassuring. We will definitely be sending Dexter to visit again. Thank you Ewan!”

“Our first time using Helen and she was fantastic; her communication and professionalism were apparent from the outset, as was her warmth and caring nature. Our retriever was grumpy when he got home which shows he’d rather have stayed with her 🤣”

“Rasa looked after our 3 cocker spaniels for 2 weeks in October 2025 - we striggled to find anyone who would take all 3 dogs but we immediately felt at ease with Rasa and our girls looked very happy. She followed our feeding instructions clearly and gave them a warm and relaxing home with lots of cuddles and lots of walks. She kept us updated with photos whilst we were away and our girls seemed very happy when we collected them - Nellie didn't really look as though she wanted to come home! Would highly recommend.”

About: I've loved and taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember, part of a dog loving family and after looking for a pet sitter for our dog and not finding someone who truly loved and cared for him Like an dog mama and not just a pet sitter, I decided this was the calling for me. I am the type of person who would greet the dog before the owner! My promise is to love and care for your dog like its my own fur baby making him or her feel spoilt and truly cared for. No morning is better than waking up to dog kisses!! I currently work part time but your dog will never be left any longer than 4hrs in total. Well walked before I go to work and well walked after I come home, I will leave licky mats and Kong toys to play with while I am gone. I have a secure fenced garden with a beautiful friendly cocker spaniel named Albie. We have lots of walks around our home with being on the outskirts of York in a little village. All dogs are allowed full run of the house with access to the sofas and the beds!! Sleeping on the beds is always allowed.

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals since been born and looked after different species of dogs and cats since they were young. I’ve helped train and teach them on what to do. I’ve helped more in the past few years with been older and sitting my families animals when they are away I am currently at uni where I’m there 2 days a week but varies all the time, and I also work part time at a pharmacy which I am changing my hours soon to fit around university. I have a fenced off garden space which is fine to allow dogs in for the toilet. There is a big downstairs space which is enough to allow the animals in and run about and sleep.
“Melanie’s partner Lewis looked after my dog for the week and he was attentive, professional and very communicative. I got a good amount of updates with photos that really reassured me and I wouldn’t wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone.”
