About: Hullo! Sophie here, I'm 44 and currently based in Truro. While I am new to Rover and THS sites, my experience is: - THS pet- and house-sitter, 2025 - to date - I am building up my experience here, looking after dogs, cats and fish so far. In terms of special needs/breed considerations I have cared for senile cats, a large rescue dog reactive to fireworks, a retired racing greyhound, a miniature Dachshund and Lab/Staffie mix. These are just the most recent dogs I have cared for. - Volunteer at Animal Army, Thailand, 2024 (approx. 40 dogs) - administered oral and topical medications to injured and sometimes traumatised dogs, administered ear powders, washed dogs, cared for elderly dogs, blind dogs and physically disabled dogs/amputees including putting dogs into 'wheelchairs' and walking locally. I would also clean kennels, wash and disinfect bowls and play with boisterous puppies. There were also four cats who I played with; - Dog-boarder and walker for Romanian rescue mixed breed ~2019; she suffered from motion sickness; - Dog-walker for the Cinnamon Trust ~ 2019; walked dogs for the homebound; - Dog-walker for 'doggy day care' in London ~2011-2012; walked dogs in Hyde Park on my lunchbreak. One terrier was muzzled due to aggressive tendencies towards other dogs but luckily I never had any issues with him, other than he could never decide where to do his pees n poos!; - Dog boarder for terrier and mixed breed medium size ~2011-2012; occasional/for friends; - Growing up; horse-grooming/mucking out at local stable, we kept a dozen hens in the 80s, family Labradors, cats, one hamster.....! - Informal; occasional house-sitting only (ie, for friends with no pets). I have recently been DBS-checked and have full driver's licence although I am currently without wheels meaning, until April at least, public transport or walking to sits. Pet care will obviously consist of walks, plays, cuddles or just quiet time if your pet prefers. I'm sure you'll tell me any special requirements so that our sit-time is well-spent and your pets are kept happy. This seems like a good spot to mention...: Until April 2026 (by which time I should have a car) my services will be mainly limited to house-sits commutable by public transport or walkable from Truro which, as a maximum, could run from Thursday evening to Monday evening. This is because I attend my office in Truro from Tuesday to Thursday inclusive. I normally live in Truro. On Mondays and Fridays I work remotely and will require the use of WiFi at your property. Weekends are obviously freer. After April 2026, I aim to have a car and a smoke-free, child-free, detached cottage with six-foot fenced rear garden. This means I should then be able to offer dog-walking and pet-boarding services in addition to pet-sitting. Hooray! Feel free to direct me to your pet's favourite toys or an old shirt of yours or similar in case they find it comforting in your absence. I will assume an 'on leash' policy unless you specify otherwise. Will remove any choking hazards or non-edibles. I try to tread lightly during pet sits, behave with humility and respect, continue my learning journey, and disrupt any routine as little as possible. A video call or free meet and greet is preferred. Please also ensure any leads or harnesses are fit for purpose.

“Another great couple of days of Kyal looking after Finn in our home so we could attend our son’s wedding. Kyal is so good with him, he can be very needy and a tad anxious but Kyal really takes the time to get to know him and work at his pace. Lovely walks and swims in the river, all recorded so that we can see where they’ve been and a trip to the beach too. Highly recommend Kyal, we had absolutely no worries about Finn the entire time we were away and our home was clean and tidy on return. Will definitely book with Kyal again. Thanks Kyal! 🤗”

“Cara completed another sit for my crazy lot (3 dogs, a cat and some pond fish), which takes a lot of patience. She looks after all the animals extreme care, and caters to there needs. Cara always goes above and beyond, and this time came to our rescue when I stupidly forgot to leave a house key out for her to gain access, which I am so very grateful for. We needn’t have stressed as she was really well taken care of while we were away and we had daily pictures of her which was really reassuring. About: Me and my partner Zak have taken care of dogs since I was around 10, helping out the neighbours on daily dogs walks! We have just finished travelling where we volunteered over the world in many shelters! Helping rescue the dogs and rehabilitating them! About: I have always loved being around animals. From growing up with pets, to helping foster dogs and eventually adopting. I believe dogs need a balanced lifestyle to flourish. Therefore dogs in my care receive plenty of exercise and stimulation, as well as lots of cuddle time and affection. The majority of my time is available to pet care. I have a very flexible schedule and therefore can adjust other work engagements to fit around caring for pets. I have a fenced in garden with grass and some border plants and bushes. It’s not the biggest garden, but I’m more than happy to take high energy dogs on nice long walks. We often have Rollie the 5 year old Labrador retriever cross who would love to keep your four legged friend company! We are within walking distance to 9 beaches and lots of green spaces.

About: I have been around animals my whole life.. My first job when I was 15 was cleaning out the kennels and walking the dogs at a local rescue centre. I have also worked at a veterinary practice and have looked after dogs in my home for the last 5 years. I have always owned dogs, I adore dogs and love being around them. I have a 1 year old Frenchie mix who loves dogs and a 8 year old son who is verry dog savvy and loves to play fetch with dogs. We live a 10 minute walk to the beach and have a fully enclosed garden with 6 ft fencing, my dog has a dog flap so has free access to the garden at all times but that would be up to your preference. I work from home a lot so the dogs are never left for more than 3 hours. We have a secure dog walking field 2 miles up the road 'presingoll dog field' so if your dog needs a run while they are with me but you are not happy with them being off the lead I can book the field which is £5 for 30 minutes. Happy to answer any questions! I am a dog walker as well as a dog sitter so we do multiple beach or beacon walks a day and so I can provide your dog with exercise tailored to their needs..active dog? Great they can come out on every walk with me..couch potato no problem they can sit one out! I am only out of the house for a maximum of 2 hours at a time and so your dog must be okay being left for that period, I am usually home all day or out on dog walks so they won't be left often. I have a 2 bed house with a small enclosed garden. I live at the start of the beacon right on top of lots of popular dog walks as well as being a 10 minute stroll to the local beach-which has the bonus of being dog friendly year round!

About: 15 Years of caring and training my own dogs, various breads including Vizla's, Beagles and Spaniels. Along side boarding for family and friends pets varying from Labs to Dachshund's. Also have 9-10 years of cat care experience along with 3 years horse care. I'm currently working from home full time 9-5, however have to take regular breaks for my own pets including lunchtime walks. Saturdays will unfortunately be unavailable throughout the summer as i am a keen cricketer. I have a fenced garden with two friendly dogs and one friendly cat. Dogs can be crated if this is required (however for a large dog, a crate will need to be supplied). Any specific instructions will be noted an followed where supplied.
