Richard is an excellent sitter. Frankie was very well looked after. She really doesn't like kennels but with Richard she was really happy. We were sent loads of pictures of Frankie out for walks, playing in the garden and relaxing in the house. She had a great time and we will be using Richard again.

We absolutely loved Conny! We felt like Cedric Brown when he found Nanny McPhee! Or the Banks’s when they hired Mary Poppins! Conny is quite literally ‘practically perfect in every way’ and always has treats in her pockets! 🐾 Our little terrier, Hector, took to her straight away and he had the most amazing holiday with her while we were away. Conny sent us so many updates and lovely pictures of Hector and his adventures with her that we didn’t worry about him at all and were able to enjoy our trip. I can’t say enough good things about Conny and would highly recommend her if you have to leave your fur baby behind while you’re travelling. We have already booked our next stay with her. 5 stars all round!

About: I am a student who has looked after dogs for all I can remember. From walking my dogs at home, to fostering medical alert puppies, and volunteering at a kennels, I love dogs. I also love a good long walk and I am missing my own dog at home at the moment and would love to get out and about with an extra friend. At home, I am involved in training my beautiful labrador who will soon be a medical alert dog for Medical Detection Dogs. I also have experience with more reactive dogs. As a student, I am free most of the time with occasional hours during the week I am busy. I am available as much as you need me. I have a fenced off garden and a few dog toys and a dog bed at home. I also have my own lead. My dog from home has stayed round before and loved it.

About: Growing up, we always had dogs at home, so I truly understand that dogs are family. Since joining Rover, I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs, including elderly dogs, nervous or anxious dogs, energetic puppies, and dogs that need medication. I’ll always treat your dog as if they were my own - with lots of love, care, and attention to their individual needs and personality. For new clients, I’ll always ensure to set up a meet & greet prior to accepting the booking, to make sure we are a good fit for each other. I work full-time in a 9–5pm office job, but I do have the flexibility to work from home. For boarding / day care and house sitting bookings, I’ll work remotely from home for the duration of the stay, so your pets will have company throughout the day. I’m also available to walk them before or after work, and/or during my lunch break. For dog walking and drop-in visits, I can usually fit these in quite easily around my work schedule - especially if you’re very local to me! Please note: some bookings may require me to put a request in with my manager to work from home. These are almost always approved, but on occasion I may be required to go into the office. For that reason, there may be some booking requests I have to decline. I’ll always double check my availability and confirm with you before accepting a booking. My rates are based on the assumption that your dog is comfortable being left for occasional short periods (e.g. 2–4 hours). Any alone time would always be based entirely on your dog’s routine, comfort and needs. We can chat about this more at a meet & greet prior to booking if needed. For dogs who cannot be left for that long (e.g. less than 2 hours), I offer constant-supervision care. This requires extra planning and time, so a small additional fee applies. I will also ensure to adhere to any requirements that you might have - this might be regarding walks, training, feeding, medication, or anything else.

About: I am a designer who works from home, after always having dogs I miss their company a lot. Instead of getting a dog I decided to host dogs in my house. I live in a cottage in St Austell, tucked away in a quiet part of this seaside town. I have a lovely big garden with sunshine and shade where they can play or potter about. The cottage is cool and quiet and has everything a doggy would need. Your dog will never be left alone as I work here too. I only take one dog at a time or dogs from the same household so they will have a really personal experience that will be tailored to them and their needs. There is a wealth of glorious beaches and river trails only minutes away for playtime, walks and relaxing. I try and make every day like a doggy holiday even if they are only staying a short time. I have owned dogs myself as well as having grown up with one always in the household. I had my last dog from a puppy and fully trained him, we did agility classes together too. I have also owned a rescue dog in the past who I worked closely with a trainer for to understand his body language and his needs so I do have experience with dog behaviour. I work from home during the week so your dog will have lots of 1:1 attention as I need to take regular breaks away from the screen. I always walk in the morning, lunchtime and the end of the day as a way to get outdoors and it’s such a treat to do that alongside a doggy friend. I can offer a pet free, smoke free house with a fenced in garden. Please do bring anything your dog likes along to make them comfortable, maybe a bed and some favourite toys for playtime

Wow I was so impressed with Mads!! From the get go it was clear she was the right person to take care of my baby while I was away!! Lots of pertinent questions when we first met and great communication while I was away! Upon my return it was so clear that lady had the best time staying with her, with lots of walks and having fun on the beach! Mads is so friendly and great, clearly a massive dog lover and if I ever need to head away again she'll be my first choice 100% Thank you again for everything!!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, and for the past 11 years my family and I cared for our own much‑loved Cavachon, who we sadly lost a couple of months ago. We raised her from a puppy, so I’m very familiar with early training, building routines, socialisation, and helping a young dog grow into a confident, well‑behaved companion. As she got older, we also managed her medication and adapted her routine to keep her comfortable, so I’m confident handling day‑to‑day care that needs consistency and a bit of extra attention. Over the years we’ve also looked after dogs belonging to family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. From Springer Spaniels and Dalmatians to Labradors, Cockapoos and Terriers. We have a large enclosed garden and a spacious open‑plan home where dogs can play, roam or rest depending on what they enjoy. My husband and our two children (aged 6 and 9) adore dogs. We love heading out for beach walks, woodland adventures and coastal paths together. The children are gentle, respectful and understand when dogs need quiet time and space. We aim to create a relaxed, predictable environment where dogs feel safe, settled and part of the family. Please get in touch if we can help, and feel free to share as much information as possible about feeding routines, temperament and anything else that helps us make their stay perfect. Pet care fits naturally into our weekly routine. I’m currently at home during the day, and over the school holidays I’m with my children, so there’s always company and plenty of attention for visiting dogs. My husband also works from home a lot, which means dogs are rarely left alone and can enjoy a calm, consistent environment. We’re used to planning our days around dog‑friendly activities, beach walks, coastal paths, and relaxed weekend outings, so it’s easy for us to build a dog’s routine into our own. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or just having someone around, we’re a family who genuinely enjoys making dogs feel part of our day. We have a large, fully fenced garden where they can explore and play securely, and our home is set up so dogs can be part of family life without feeling overwhelmed. Our children (aged 6 and 9) have grown up around dogs and are gentle, confident, and respectful, they love to play, but they also understand when a dog needs space or quiet time. We live close to woods, coastal paths, and dog‑friendly beaches, so walks are varied and enriching.

About: Growing up on a farm surrounded by dogs, cats, and various farm animals has instilled in me a deep love for animals. I take my responsibility as a caregiver seriously, holding myself to high standards in all aspects of animal care. I am particularly interested in understanding dog behavior, and I am skilled at recognizing signs of anxiety or discomfort. My commitment to providing a loving and attentive environment ensures that every animal I care for feels safe and valued. My part-time job as a teaching assistant in a primary school allows me a flexible schedule. My shifts typically last up to six hours, with some days being shorter. I start my day at 6 AM, giving me ample time to attend to my pets before heading to work. This routine ensures that I can provide consistent care, attention, and companionship to the animals, regardless of my work commitments. When caring for pets, whether at my home or the owner’s, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being. My approach includes: • Routine Establishment: I maintain the pet’s usual feeding and exercise schedule to ensure consistency. • Environment Familiarity: If at the owner’s home, I respect their space and routines, ensuring the pet feels secure. • Attention to Behavior: I closely observe the pet for signs of anxiety or discomfort, adjusting my approach as needed to help them feel at ease. • Engagement and Play: I provide physical and mental stimulation through playtime and interaction, keeping pets happy and healthy. • Communication: I keep the pet owner informed about their pet’s behavior, health, and any concerns that may arise. This comprehensive care approach allows me to foster a trusting relationship with the pets, ensuring they feel loved and secure.

I've found the perfect dog sitter! Lianne is both professional and friendly. She is clearly passionate and experienced with dogs, and her lovely home is ideal, being safe and comfortable. Albert and Ernie loved their stay with her, and Chloe the chilled resident dog. They got on like long term friends, and came back very relaxed and happy. I have no hesitation recommending Lianne to look after your loved ones, and will be a return customer for years to come.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
