About: I grew up with six cats and have always love their silly and sly ways. I then started dog sitting 5 years ago and completely fell in love with dogs. I am now a dog mum to a gorgeous mini schnauzer! Animals make me so happy and I thought this would be a great way to spend more time with furry friends. My partner Ben is also a huge animal lover (possibly even more than me) so between us your furry family members will be truly spoilt. I work remotely Monday-Thursday so can spend time with nervous doggies in their own homes to make them as comfortable as possible or keep cats company during the day too. I am also around on weekends and evenings for feeding, playing and walking. I can also have them in my own home as long as they are happy to be with other dogs and get along with our schnauzer as I live with her and my partner (who also works from home and is a huge animal lover). Our home is very dog friendly with sofas and beds being very welcoming of dogs and the house of muddy and sandy paws generally. We have a fully fenced garden which dogs are welcomed to roam freely. Our girl gets 2 hours of walking every day so we can take other dogs to join on her walk or take them separately. We are very flexible with timings both working from home and understand our furry creatures like their routines.
“Birdie seemed to make herself at home with Sophie, We got regular updates and photos and had zero issues, we would highly recommend Sophie to any looking for someone easygoing and responsible”

“This was the first time we have left Otto and Finn with a home boarder and it’s been a very positive experience. Conny obviously loves dogs and they went into her house wagging their tails. We got regular updates and photos which enabled us to have a relaxing couple of nights away. Otto can be wary of strangers so to get sent a photo of him enjoying a belly rub was very reassuring and showed he was a very relaxed dog. Hope we will be able to book Conny again!”

“Thank you Harriet for an amazing time. Bronte loved being with lots of other dogs and was so well stimulated that she slept til 8:30 this morning! Definitely recommend”

About: Born into a veterinary household, I grew up caring for every type of animal — from hamsters and tortoises to lambs, cats and dogs. As an adult, I’ve always shared my home with dogs, from tiny Shih Tzu puppies to giant Newfoundlands. This lifelong experience has given me a natural instinct for understanding what every dog needs to feel safe and loved. At the points of life where Iv been able to live with animals such a university or housing restrictions I have volunteered at either a dog walking charity or a small grooming business. Currently taking a break from cardiac Nursing, as youngest child is in their first year of school. Once school run is done we will either head to Trevaunance Cove, Portreath beach, Idless woods. Whichever you your pup would prefer. Then home for a snack & snooze, while I complete chores Then again after school pick up have a fun run down Coosebean woods/ cycle track just at the back of my home. I have a large garden that has some holes in the hedge-line, however your dog will be supervised while outside. No toxic plants. Always have access to fresh water, inside and outside
“Laura, her husband and their lovely dog looked after my Cavapoo as if he was part of their own family. From the moment we left him, we felt completely reassured that he was in safe, caring hands. Laura was incredibly attentive throughout the day and kept us updated with lots of lovely photos and videos, which made such a difference. We could see him out enjoying walks, playing happily with their dog, relaxing around the house, and curled up comfortably on the sofa. It was clear he had settled in so well and was having a brilliant time. After his overnight stay, he was completely zonked out in bed, which said it all. He had obviously been well cared for, entertained, and made to feel right at home. We would highly recommend Laura. She made the whole experience feel easy and reassuring, and we were so pleased to see how happy and relaxed he was. Next time we are in that part of the world, we will definitely be saying hello to Laura and her family again.”

About: Hi, I'm Leo and I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I like to get out and about so I'm always walking my dog Bruce, he comes with me everywhere I go! I have experience caring for senior pets also and have a qualification in canine first aid. I understand that all dogs are different and need different breed specific stimulation to be happy and healthy and I will always try to weave some training in with all the playtime and walks! I'm currently available full-time with availability Mon-Fri and Saturday if required. I am able to be flexible to suit your requirements and meet the needs of your pet. I live in close proximity to woodland, open fields and enclosed paddocks. I also have access to an unfenced garden in my home. I have a 18 month old Sprocker Spaniel and an elderly cat at home to keep your best friend company.
“Wow I was so impressed with Mads!! From the get go it was clear she was the right person to take care of my baby while I was away!! Lots of pertinent questions when we first met and great communication while I was away! Upon my return it was so clear that lady had the best time staying with her, with lots of walks and having fun on the beach! Mads is so friendly and great, clearly a massive dog lover and if I ever need to head away again she'll be my first choice 100% Thank you again for everything!!”

“Monika is the first person to ever look after Monty and it was his first time not staying at our house. We were nervous about how he would be but it’s very obvious that he had a fantastic time away! She kept us very informed on how he was doing and I think the chance to spend time with another bigger dog in the house has really improved his behaviour. Super happy with the whole experience and would absolutely recommend Monika to look after your pup!”

“Clarrissa was the best dog sitter you could ask for! She made time to meet boe before we went away! She took her on 6km run! And she was amazing with boe’s behaviours, boe can be reactive to other dogs and Clarissa was amazing at adapting to this making sure boe kept safe at all times! She kept us updated all the time through photos and messages! YOU COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER DOG SITTER 1000% WOULD RECOMMEND!!”

“Willow had a great stay with Michelle overnight whilst we were at Eden. I met Michelle for a virtual meet and greet before booking and knew immediately that Willow would be in great hands. We came back to a very happy doggy, and it was clear she’d been really well looked after and had a lovely stay. I’d definitely recommend Michelle and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again next time we're in the area 😊”

“Lucky had a brilliant stay with Sascha and her lovely family. He enjoyed long countryside walks, ball games and cuddles. Sascha was fantastic with Lucky, very patient and caring. He had a big smile on his face when we picked him up and keep coming back to her for cuddles 🥰 We will definitely book again!”

“I cannot rate Callan highly enough. He asked sensible questions in advance, gave clear information about his set up at home, and when they met he and Dexy seemed to get on like a house on fire. We were able to relax and be dog-free for 24 hours knowing that Dex was in good hands. Thank you so much Callan!”

“I've found the perfect dog sitter! Lianne is both professional and friendly. She is clearly passionate and experienced with dogs, and her lovely home is ideal, being safe and comfortable. Albert and Ernie loved their stay with her, and Chloe the chilled resident dog. They got on like long term friends, and came back very relaxed and happy. I have no hesitation recommending Lianne to look after your loved ones, and will be a return customer for years to come.”

“Indy had a lovely time with Lee, her son, and their little dog Buddy. She was so exhausted she didn't make a peep all the way home. Lee kept us up to date with daily pictures and videos too. Thank you 😊”

“Abi is an excellent dog sitter. Both of our dogs adore her! They were so excited when she arrived to look after them for the weekend, it was wonderful to see. I had no concerns leaving them in her care, and revived regular pictures and updates; they had a fabulous time and I'm sure Abi will become a regular in their lives whenever we are away.”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
