About: Born into a veterinary household, I grew up caring for every type of animal — from hamsters and tortoises to lambs, cats and dogs. As an adult, I’ve always shared my home with dogs, from tiny Shih Tzu puppies to giant Newfoundlands. This lifelong experience has given me a natural instinct for understanding what every dog needs to feel safe and loved. At the points of life where Iv been able to live with animals such a university or housing restrictions I have volunteered at either a dog walking charity or a small grooming business. Currently taking a break from cardiac Nursing, as youngest child is in their first year of school. Once school run is done we will either head to Trevaunance Cove, Portreath beach, Idless woods. Whichever you your pup would prefer. Then home for a snack & snooze, while I complete chores Then again after school pick up have a fun run down Coosebean woods/ cycle track just at the back of my home. I have a large garden that has some holes in the hedge-line, however your dog will be supervised while outside. No toxic plants. Always have access to fresh water, inside and outside
“I'm really glad I found Alison. She was really lovely with my dog Hettie, who can be very nervous in certain situations. I think Hettie really enjoyed the quiet countryside set up and it was a lovely chilled retreat for her.”

“Conny was an incredible dog sitter. Communicative, caring and gave our dogs the best weekend ever. Full of different walks, lots of play time and plenty of snuggles. We loved our updates and always knew they were in the best hands - which was amazing during our wedding weekend. Thank you Conny!”

“Monika is the first person to ever look after Monty and it was his first time not staying at our house. We were nervous about how he would be but it’s very obvious that he had a fantastic time away! She kept us very informed on how he was doing and I think the chance to spend time with another bigger dog in the house has really improved his behaviour. Super happy with the whole experience and would absolutely recommend Monika to look after your pup!”

“Ashley was amazing from start to finish! I have never left my 10 year old Jug before with anyone other than family and Ashley was undoubtedly the best choice. She has a lovely home and was very welcoming, I recieved photos and could see in these photos my Reggie was happy and loved whilst we were away. I would highly recommend Ashley and I will use her again.”

“Alex was absolutely brilliant. Showed Rocco a great time on walks - and he came back healthy and happy and well cared for. Great comms, good vibes, super easy and welcoming. Would totally rebook sometime 🙌 Big thanks again Alex 🙏”

“Sacha and her family were so welcoming and accommodating given the short notice in arranging my booking. They were thoughtful and went above and beyond what I could have expected. Regular walks each day through to her husband sleeping downstairs with Truff during the first night when he was still clearly agitated and restless exempify the care and consideration shown. Sacha and her family were unfussy about their floors getting dirty from his muddy paws after walks and allowed Truff to cuddle up on the chairs, sofa and beds. None of her house or garden were out-of-bounds to him. I will definitely use Sacha again, if timings work out; particularly now that Truff has become so settled and content in her rural, family home.”

About: Worked with dogs in the Singapore zoo, with an adoption programme with local SPCA to help rescues to get adopted and running an educational talks about adopting pets instead of buying them. Have experience in training dogs for obedience, but also fun tricks and sniffing out pythons the zoo as it’s located in a forest. Very good with senior dogs, have also worked in various shelters. I have also administered injection and oral medication for both cats and dogs. I’m currently working part-time 3 days a week, so am perfect for dog walking services or happy to take care of pets or do boarding! I love the outdoors and happy to go on adventure walks with dogs and offer lots of TLC! This can be happily adjusted for special needs or senior dogs too :) Able to give services to shower dogs and grooming if the dog will be alright with other people other than its owner doing so. Will be attentive, feeding schedule, walking schedule and also offer enrichment using treats to offer good stimulation so dogs will not be bored, and also plenty of rest as per each dog’s requirement
About: I have always loved animals and feel calm and comfortable around both dogs and cats. I grew up around dogs, as my grandparents had a German Shepherd, so I understand how loyal, sensitive and individual they can be. Most of my personal experience is with cats, and I really enjoy caring for them, understanding their personalities and giving them space, patience and attention when they need it. I also worked with cows and calves for almost two years, which taught me a lot about patience, routine, animal behaviour and staying calm around animals of different sizes and temperaments. My partner also has many years of experience with dogs, including caring for a Jack Russell and a Beagle for around 14 years, so dogs are very welcome in our home too. I am self-employed and work flexibly, which means I can give pets plenty of attention, comfort and care during their stay. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, rest, basic cleaning and photo updates. I am self-employed and have a flexible schedule, so pet care can fit well into my daily routine. I’m usually available for boarding and day care on selected days, and I can give pets regular attention, toilet breaks, walks, feeding and quiet rest time throughout the day. I provide a calm, safe and homely environment in a quiet countryside area. We have a semi-enclosed outdoor space and are surrounded by fields, including a beautiful daffodil field nearby. The garden is not fully fenced, so pets are always supervised when outside. I take extra care with young dogs, nervous dogs or dogs who may try to escape, and I will always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. We have a cat who spends most of his time outdoors, and I only accept pets that are comfortable or manageable around cats. I always manage space and introductions carefully to keep everyone safe and relaxed.
“Wow I was so impressed with Mads!! From the get go it was clear she was the right person to take care of my baby while I was away!! Lots of pertinent questions when we first met and great communication while I was away! Upon my return it was so clear that lady had the best time staying with her, with lots of walks and having fun on the beach! Mads is so friendly and great, clearly a massive dog lover and if I ever need to head away again she'll be my first choice 100% Thank you again for everything!!”

“I cannot rate Callan highly enough. He asked sensible questions in advance, gave clear information about his set up at home, and when they met he and Dexy seemed to get on like a house on fire. We were able to relax and be dog-free for 24 hours knowing that Dex was in good hands. Thank you so much Callan!”

“Thank you Harriet for an amazing time. Bronte loved being with lots of other dogs and was so well stimulated that she slept til 8:30 this morning! Definitely recommend”

“Shaun was so patient with Luna. She’s an anxious dog, super attached to her family, so it was a new experience for her. It took her a while to warm up, but she seemed very happy and content once she’d settled in. Shaun was very professional and kept me updated through regular messages and photos. It was good to see her having fun while I was away. Thanks Shaun for taking the time to settle her in and make her feel at home.”

About: Hullo! Sophie here, I'm 44 and currently based in Trewoon, near St Austell. While I am relatively new to Rover and THS, I've fair experience elsewhere. Some listed below: - THS pet- and house-sitter, 2025 - to date - I am building up my experience here, looking after dogs, cats and fish so far. In terms of special needs/breed considerations I have cared for senile cats, a large rescue dog reactive to fireworks, a retired racing greyhound, a miniature Dachshund, a large Lab/Staffie mix and a large German Shepherd (35kg). These are just the most recent dogs I have cared for. - Volunteer at Animal Army, Thailand, 2024 (approx. 40 dogs) - administered oral and topical medications to injured and sometimes traumatised dogs, administered ear powders, washed dogs, cared for elderly dogs, blind dogs and physically disabled dogs/amputees including putting dogs into 'wheelchairs' and walking locally. I would also clean kennels, wash and disinfect bowls and play with boisterous puppies. There were also four cats who I played with; - Dog-boarder and walker for Romanian rescue mixed breed ~2019; she suffered from motion sickness; - Dog-walker for the Cinnamon Trust ~ 2019; walked dogs for the homebound; - Dog-walker for 'doggy day care' in London ~2011-2012; walked dogs in Hyde Park on my lunchbreak. One terrier was muzzled due to aggressive tendencies towards other dogs but luckily I never had any issues with him, other than he could never decide where to do his pees n poos!; - Dog boarder for terrier and mixed breed medium size ~2011-2012; occasional/for friends; - Growing up; horse-grooming/mucking out at local stable, we kept a dozen hens in the 80s, family Labradors, cats, one hamster.....! - Informal; occasional house-sitting only (ie, for friends with no pets). I have recently been DBS-checked (can provide my DBS certificate upon request) and have full driver's licence although I am currently without wheels. Looking for wheels though! Pet care will obviously consist of walks, plays, cuddles or just quiet time if your pet prefers. I'm sure you'll tell me any special requirements so that our sit-time is well-spent and your pets are kept happy. I attend my office in Truro from Tuesday to Thursday inclusive. I normally live in Trewoon. My availability varies depending on the day of the week and the service you require so do please check which services i offer. On Mondays and Fridays I work remotely and will require the use of WiFi at your property. Weekends are obviously freer. I have a smoke-free, child-free, detached cottage with secure six-foot fenced rear garden. North of my property are traffic-free rural walks surrounding the Gover Valley. Feel free to direct me to your pet's favourite toys or an old shirt of yours or similar in case they find it comforting in your absence. I will assume an 'on leash' policy unless you specify otherwise. Will remove any choking hazards or non-edibles. I try to tread lightly during pet sits, behave with humility and respect, continue my learning journey, and disrupt any routine as little as possible. A video call or free meet and greet is preferred. Please also ensure any leads or harnesses are fit for purpose. If you're dropping off your pet with me please provide their food, feeding schedule and poo bags.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’d walk neighbours dogs growing up which gave me a strong understanding of their different personalities, needs and behaviours from an early age. In addition I’ve spend 5 years caring for exotic animals which has taught me patience, attention to detail and confidence handling a variety of temperaments. I am a proud Cavapoo owner which has deepened my understanding of daily routines, training consistency, exercise needs and the importance of trust and companionship. As a dog walker, I bring reliability, compassion and genuine enthusiasm to every walk. Whether your pup loves energetic adventures or prefers a steady, relaxed stroll, I tailor each walk to suit their individual needs. Your dog’s safety, happiness, and wellbeing are always my top priority, and I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I work full time, but I make dog care a priority in my daily routine. I’m available mornings and evenings during the week for walks, feeding, playtime and lots of love and attention. I also have the flexibility to WFH throughout the week when needed, which can absolutely be discussed prior to booking. On weekends I’m fully flexible and happy to dedicate extra time for longer walks, outings, cuddles or special care routines. Your dog’s comfort, happiness and consistency are always my top priority and I’m committed to providing a safe loving environment. I’m lucky to have a good sized garden that is fully gated and securely fenced, providing a safe space for dog’s to enjoy fresh air and outdoor time. It’s perfect for supervised play, short exercise sessions, or simply relaxing in the sunshine. Safety is always my priority so dogs are never left unattended outside and I make sure the space stays clean and secure at all times.
“Reg had the best time and Hannah and her family were so lovely. Their dog was also super friendly and Reggie seemed to love her too. Hannah sent lots of pictures and gave lots of updates which were great and if I were in Newquay again I would definitely get back in touch - thanks so much!”

“Very happy with Herbie’s care this evening. Herbie was very nervous when we arrived and I worried that he might not settle but Laura slowly won him around with her kind and gentle approach. When we went to collect him he was clearly happy and relaxed I really appreciated the photos that Laura sent through the evening which put my mind at rest. Thankyou Laura for a positive experience.”

About: I have owned dogs in the past, I trained my male Chocolate lab in obedience and agility and competed. I then got a female Rottweiler a few years later as a companion, who also I trained and did agility- but no competitions. After a few years without them, I got a shihtzu- moving to a small breed was very different- but amazing. Did some agility for fun only, she moved abroad with me - so I care for animals wholeheartedly. I groom her myself. I am an experienced handler and pet owner, who loves dogs all shapes and sizes. I am not working in August and part time from September, although can work from home. Therefore I am flexible with arrangements and ensure I am not away more than a few hours. I have a fenced in front garden, that is secure, as well as plenty of walkable routes around my home. I have a car to go for beach or woods walks.
“Alexander and Lucy were incredibly helpful in looking after our dog with quite short notice. They were very accommodating and made our weekend run very smoothly, we got pictures of Ruari during the day which put our minds at ease that he was having a good time. We would highly recommend them!”

About: I’ve grown up with pets since I was 5, and they were a huge part of my life! We bred our Bernese mountain dog and weaned 5 puppies, which was a gorgeous time and means I have experience with new born puppies, as well as big dogs. I am extremely reliable and have a great understanding of looking after dogs. Whilst I am not yet ready to commit to owning my own dog, I would love the opportunity to spend time and bond with someone else’s dog - dogs deliver the best endorphins! I work remotely 3 days a week so would be available to look after your dog within my work schedule. We have a big garden out the back of the house and lots of nice areas to walk around when we have breaks! Our home is super safe and secure, in a friendly set of flats. We have space for a bed or a crate if your dog required any extra facilities
