Terri was super helpful looking after our dog Coco at short notice. This included picking her up in her car, taking her for a walk on the beach, looking after Coco in her home for the day and allowing us a later pickup. Terri was good n communication, very friendly and good on animal welfare.

About: I grew up on a farm, surrounded by animals. I have owned dogs for many years, and trained my male Chocolate lab in obedience and agility and competed. I then got a female Rottweiler a few years later as a companion, who also I trained and did agility- but no competitions. After a few years without them, I got a shihtzu- moving to a small breed was very different- but amazing. Did some agility for fun only, she moved abroad with me - so I care for animals wholeheartedly. I groom her myself. I am an experienced handler and pet owner, who loves dogs all shapes and sizes. I am not working in August and part time from September, although can work from home. Therefore I am flexible with arrangements and ensure I am not away more than a few hours. I have a fenced in front garden, that is secure, as well as plenty of walkable routes around my home. I have a car to go for beach or woods walks.

Leo has been fantastic, he agreed to look after Dave on short notice. He has been really accommodating and worked around us. Dave had a wonderful time with Leo and Bruce, thoroughly enjoying himself and he came back tired, relaxed and very happy which can be a challenge at times being a working breed border collie, he has a lot of energy.

About: I moved to Cornwall for university and soon found the passion for surfing. I now live in Cornwall and have been looking after dogs for several years now. Moving to Cornwall on my own has made me very independent, but also very flexible. Which means pet care fits easily into my day to day routine. I have a few small jobs that I can schedule around the dog sitting, so I'm able to give pets plenty of time and attention. I thrive on having a routine and living an active, healthy lifestyle. When looking after pets. I understand how important routine is, including regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, especially as different breeds have different needs. With my active lifestyle, i genuinely enjoy walks, runs, and spending time outdoors, so keeping dogs happy and exercised comes naturally to me. When I'm caring for pets in their own home, I'm always respectful, tidy and minimal, making sure everything is kept just as the owners expect.

I know how important it is to leave your dog with someone you can genuinely trust, so I take the time to get to know each dog’s personality, routine and individual needs. I’m also happy to keep you updated with how they’re getting on while you’re away, including photos if you’d like. I’m based in Truro and am particularly interested in dog walking, drop-in visits and dog sitting in my spare time. I’d love to build up a small number of regular dogs and get to know them properly. We were so nervous about leaving Olive but as soon as she met Bella those nerves disappeared, we booked whilst being away on holiday during a heatwave and Olive looked like she had the time of her life! So much so she didn’t seem happy to come back 🤣 we were kept up to date with photos and Bella picked up and dropped off right on time. We will definitely use again when we come to Cornwall and I would 1000% recommended.

Was down in Newquay for a SUP Surf camp and as weather pretty warm wanted a dog sitter for during the day. Luckily Harriet was free, Agatha loved her time there, (was whining with excitement on the 2nd day as we turned down to the house). Harriet was flexible on the timings, when I ran a bit later than planned the 2nd day. Agatha had a good walk along with a chill on the sofa, would highly recommend and use again if I’m down in Newquay.

About: I have been a dog lover since before I can remember! I have been a dog mum to a beautiful girl, Vita, who I spent a long time training and adventuring with. I grew up with Staffy’s and was always keen to be involved in the care of them, with this I have developed an understanding of how to deal with strong breeds. Friends, family and neighbours have all relied on me for dog sitting over the years. I have always been a keen runner and adventurer and have experience walking dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Since moving from New Zealand, I fostered a dog from a charity, giving her the opportunity to find her feet after living on the streets. This enhanced my experience working with nervous dogs. I am currently not able to have a dog of my own and can’t wait to have the opportunity to surround myself with them again!! I’m available for boarding and dog walking from Friday through until Sunday, as well as some Thursdays. I am happy to consider other days however work full time Monday-Wednesday. I live in a flat with an unfenced garden. I would be happy to keep your dog on a lead when outside if needed. I would provide your dog with as many walks as desired! I am happy to keep your dog crated when I am out of the house

About: Growing up, we always had dogs at home, so I truly understand that dogs are family. Since joining Rover, I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs, including elderly dogs, nervous or anxious dogs, energetic puppies, and dogs that need medication. I’ll always treat your dog as if they were my own - with lots of love, care, and attention to their individual needs and personality. For new clients, I’ll always ensure to set up a meet & greet prior to accepting the booking, to make sure we are a good fit for each other. I work full-time in a 9–5pm office job, but I do have the flexibility to work from home. For boarding / day care and house sitting bookings, I’ll work remotely from home for the duration of the stay, so your pets will have company throughout the day. I’m also available to walk them before or after work, and/or during my lunch break. For dog walking and drop-in visits, I can usually fit these in quite easily around my work schedule - especially if you’re very local to me! Please note: some bookings may require me to put a request in with my manager to work from home. These are almost always approved, but on occasion I may be required to go into the office. For that reason, there may be some booking requests I have to decline. I’ll always double check my availability and confirm with you before accepting a booking. My rates are based on the assumption that your dog is comfortable being left for occasional short periods (e.g. 2–4 hours). Any alone time would always be based entirely on your dog’s routine, comfort and needs. We can chat about this more at a meet & greet prior to booking if needed. For dogs who cannot be left for that long (e.g. less than 2 hours), I offer constant-supervision care. This requires extra planning and time, so a small additional fee applies. I will also ensure to adhere to any requirements that you might have - this might be regarding walks, training, feeding, medication, or anything else.

About: Growing up on a farm surrounded by dogs, cats, and various farm animals has instilled in me a deep love for animals. I take my responsibility as a caregiver seriously, holding myself to high standards in all aspects of animal care. I am particularly interested in understanding dog behavior, and I am skilled at recognizing signs of anxiety or discomfort. My commitment to providing a loving and attentive environment ensures that every animal I care for feels safe and valued. My part-time job as a teaching assistant in a primary school allows me a flexible schedule. My shifts typically last up to six hours, with some days being shorter. I start my day at 6 AM, giving me ample time to attend to my pets before heading to work. This routine ensures that I can provide consistent care, attention, and companionship to the animals, regardless of my work commitments. When caring for pets, whether at my home or the owner’s, I prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being. My approach includes: • Routine Establishment: I maintain the pet’s usual feeding and exercise schedule to ensure consistency. • Environment Familiarity: If at the owner’s home, I respect their space and routines, ensuring the pet feels secure. • Attention to Behavior: I closely observe the pet for signs of anxiety or discomfort, adjusting my approach as needed to help them feel at ease. • Engagement and Play: I provide physical and mental stimulation through playtime and interaction, keeping pets happy and healthy. • Communication: I keep the pet owner informed about their pet’s behavior, health, and any concerns that may arise. This comprehensive care approach allows me to foster a trusting relationship with the pets, ensuring they feel loved and secure.

Extremely responsive and helpful on the messenger and kept me up to date with what Bonito was up to when you had him. I will definitely use you again! Thanks so much Olly! X

It was so reassuring knowing Digby was in safe hands. Eliza is lovely and a great communicator, both before and during Digby’s daycare. She offered to meet in the nearby park just to make sure Digby was super comfortable. As for Sammy the dog, he’s a gentle soul who was very affectionate with Digby. All in all, the highest of ratings for dog-sitting. 🐾 🐾

Jack and Eliza were absolutely wonderful with Nikko — I couldn’t have asked for better sitters. They took such great care of him, gave him plenty of long walks, and kept him happy throughout his stay. He was relaxed and content when I picked him up, which says it all. What meant the most was how excited he was to go back the next day — he’s completely obsessed with Eliza and barely wanted to come home! Sammy is the best boy 🐾 Such a sweet, good-natured dog and great company for Nikko. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would highly recommend them.

There are 148 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Cornwall. About 86% of Cornwall sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Cornwall commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
