About: I moved to Cornwall for university and soon found the passion for surfing. I now live in Cornwall and have been looking after dogs for several years now. Moving to Cornwall on my own has made me very independent, but also very flexible. Which means pet care fits easily into my day to day routine. I have a few small jobs that I can schedule around the dog sitting, so I'm able to give pets plenty of time and attention. I thrive on having a routine and living an active, healthy lifestyle. When looking after pets. I understand how important routine is, including regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention, especially as different breeds have different needs. With my active lifestyle, i genuinely enjoy walks, runs, and spending time outdoors, so keeping dogs happy and exercised comes naturally to me. When I'm caring for pets in their own home, I'm always respectful, tidy and minimal, making sure everything is kept just as the owners expect.

“Isie was great with my cats (I've got one shy one and one grumpy one and she won them both over!). The daily updates were much appreciated. I'd definitely book her again (thank you Isie). ”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with about 3 years of professional dog caring experience and many more years at home. I grew up with dogs and really miss my own since moving, so caring for dogs is a real joy for me. I’m confident with all kinds of dogs, including those who are nervous or shy—I always take a calm, gentle approach and move at their pace. Whether your dog needs a fun, active walk or just some quiet companionship, I’ll make sure they feel safe, cared for, and happy. Reliable, friendly, and fully focused on your dog’s needs. My schedule is very flexible and I’m happy to accommodate most times! I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I’ll do my best to keep my calendar updated regularly. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. While I’m unable to host dogs in my own home, I’m more than happy to walk or care for them at your home. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust, especially with anxious or sensitive dogs, so I always take a calm, patient approach and follow any specific routines or instructions you provide. I’ll make sure your dog feels secure in their own familiar environment, and I’m always happy to send updates, photos, or messages during visits or walks. You can count on me to be reliable, respectful of your space, and completely focused on your dog’s wellbeing.

“Jenny was great! My cat Bruce seemed to settle in really well with her visiting and was very happy when I got back. The overall communication was great, will definitely be going back to her again the next time I’m away!”

“Wow. These sitters were EXACTLY what Fearn needed. They were so attentive with her that when she realised it was me that was back home and not another visit with Callum & Jazz, I could sense the disappointment that it wasn’t them! They bought additional treats, they bought poo bags when I had ran out. They even did a little TLC on my home when fearn had an unfortunate accident. I honestly cannot fault these lovely people and hope that they’ll look after fearn again. Total peace of mind, and lots and lots of love + updates on fearn. 6* should be an option.”

“Elisha came for a pre visit and we spoke of the requirements of our 2 cats, Daisy and Diesel, their feed schedule, their dietary requirements and cleaning up of their litter box. Whilst we were away, Elisha took care of them, giving us excellent updates on their activities and what they had eaten etc.”

About: I have always loved animals and feel calm and comfortable around both dogs and cats. I grew up around dogs, as my grandparents had a German Shepherd, so I understand how loyal, sensitive and individual they can be. Most of my personal experience is with cats, and I really enjoy caring for them, understanding their personalities and giving them space, patience and attention when they need it. I also worked with cows and calves for almost two years, which taught me a lot about patience, routine, animal behaviour and staying calm around animals of different sizes and temperaments. My partner also has many years of experience with dogs, including caring for a Jack Russell and a Beagle for around 14 years, so dogs are very welcome in our home too. I am self-employed and work flexibly, which means I can give pets plenty of attention, comfort and care during their stay. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, rest, basic cleaning and photo updates. I am self-employed and have a flexible schedule, so pet care can fit well into my daily routine. I’m usually available for boarding and day care on selected days, and I can give pets regular attention, toilet breaks, walks, feeding and quiet rest time throughout the day. I provide a calm, safe and homely environment in a quiet countryside area. We have a semi-enclosed outdoor space and are surrounded by fields, including a beautiful daffodil field nearby. The garden is not fully fenced, so pets are always supervised when outside. I take extra care with young dogs, nervous dogs or dogs who may try to escape, and I will always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. We have a cat who spends most of his time outdoors, and I only accept pets that are comfortable or manageable around cats. I always manage space and introductions carefully to keep everyone safe and relaxed.

Pet care is a core part of my daily and weekly routine — not just a job, but a lifestyle I truly love. Each day is planned around the needs of the pets I care for, whether that’s morning walks along the Cornish coast, midday pop-in visits, or evening cuddles for pets staying with me overnight. I build my schedule with plenty of time and flexibility to give every animal my full attention and care. No two days are the same, which is what I enjoy most. From active dogs needing long countryside walks, to older pets who prefer a slower pace and some quiet companionship, I make sure each pet gets the right level of care, stimulation, and love. Weekly, I also spend time checking in with pet owners, updating care plans, and continuing my learning in animal behaviour and first aid. Being fully committed to this work means pets are never an afterthought — they’re at the heart of how I organise my life. Whether pets are staying in my home or I’m caring for them in theirs, safety, comfort, and trust are at the heart of everything I do. In My Home: I create a calm, secure, and loving environment where pets feel like part of the family. I follow their usual routines as closely as possible to reduce stress — from feeding and sleeping schedules to playtime and quiet moments. My home is pet-safe, with secure outdoor space, and I only board a small number of animals at once to ensure individual attention and a peaceful atmosphere. I also carry out careful meet-and-greets beforehand to make sure each pet is a good fit for the home environment. In the Pet Owner’s Home: When visiting or staying in a pet’s own home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would my own. I stick to the owner’s instructions closely, ensuring pets feel safe and relaxed in their familiar surroundings. I always take time to build trust with the animals I care for, using gentle, positive approaches to make each interaction reassuring and enjoyable. In both settings, I’m fully insured, DBS checked, and trained in pet first aid. I keep open communication with pet owners through regular updates, photos, and check-ins — so they feel confident and reassured while they’re away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
