About: I have a wealth of experience in pet care, primarily dogs, from my own pets to volunteer and foster experience with Austin Pets Alive. For younger pups, training and repetition is absolutely key to making those teenagers thrive! I have always trained my own dogs and have worked with APA's certified trainers to build my knowledge and understanding of dog behavior to work with shelter and rescue dogs find the comfort in routine. About: I’ve spent my whole life around all kinds of animals and can’t imagine my life without them! About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I had a black miniature schnauzer and my grandma had a very small Yorkshire Terrier. I always took them for walks, fed them, bathed them and also cared for my neighbors and friend’s dogs. This summer I’m staying in Austin with occasional visits to Houston (my hometown). My address changes between both cities and sometimes I forget to change it but just shoot me a message to check where I’m at! Over previous years I went back to Houston and I watched 10 dogs throughout that time and it was such a great experience seeing how different breeds act. About: Hi there! I'm Janet and finally back on Rover! I work from home and love being outdoors. I've been the go-to sitter for my friends and family members' pets for years and love all dogs and cats and pets generally. I have a 12-y-o rescue who loves other dogs, and I regularly care for dogs with special needs, high activity levels, and more. Because I work from home, I take lots of breaks to play with dog in the backyard. We go on long walks in the morning and evening and have a consistent, reliable (boring?) schedule in the evenings. I love to pet, play with, and engage your dog on their own terms. If your pup wants space, that's ok too! I live in a house with a fenced backyard, and I also have a calm and dog-friendly (non-reactive) mixed breed rescue who makes other dogs feel welcome. I feed and provide snacks and medications following your instructions and have space to crate a dog indoors (though I do not own a crate).

About: I'm an experienced pet owner and sitter. I love both cats and dogs to death and would do anything to spend a little time with them! I've raised three cats from kittens and am comfortable with the disgusting ins and outs of pet caretaking, including vomit, hairballs, and unsightly poop textures! I really don't mind getting my hands dirty. I even volunteer at cat shelters, and was recently named volunteer of the month at the Stray Cat Alliance. In terms of pet care, I'm a graduate student so I have plenty of flexibility in my schedule to make sure your pet gets the care they need. With indoor cats, I really try to prioritize stimulation through playtime (if they're comfortable). I'm comfortable delivering medicine to cats orally and am pretty experienced in reading cat body language (if they want more or less attention, if they're not feeling well, etc). I'm also taking on these pet jobs primarily because I really like spending time with cats and dogs, so I really look forward to just hanging with them, if that's what they want. Drop in visits: For a drop in visit, what I'll typically do is change out litter (once a day), feed the kitty, and hang out / snuggle / play for the remainder of the time (30 minutes to an hour). You'll get picture updates each time I drop in. Drop-in visits will be timed so that the cat is alone for the least amount of time possible between visits! I'm very easy to reach throughout the day so will be available for questions / concerns about your pet while you're away. I'm a graduate student so I have plenty of time to care for your pets, whether that means housesitting or dropping by to check in on them while you're at work or on a trip. Throughout the rest of this year, I'm available anytime during the week except for some short periods during the day on Mondays and Wednesdays. I like to think I'm a trustworthy and dependable person to have in your home for catcare! I'm a pretty thorough person as well, so anything you tell me about specifics of caring for your cat within your home, I'll take care to abide by.

About: Do you have a dachshund that you’re nervous to leave in someone else’s care because of how unique they are? I completely understand. I was the same way with mine. Dachshunds have their own little quirks, and their backs require some extra care. I know how important it is to have someone who understands how to properly pick them up and why you don’t want them constantly jumping off beds or couches. My home has stairs leading up to both, so they can get where they want to go without putting unnecessary stress on their backs.
