“She is great we have 3 dog and 2 of them can be a little problematic, one is super anxious and bites when she is scared.... But for Suzanne it was just another day. Suzanne is very good a getting back to you as soon as possible, you are getting a true professional sitter vs someone who does it as a hobby. Look no further Suzanne is one of the best sitters rover has to offer!”

“Maria was great with my kitties. She was able to give them their oral meds with no problem. Great communication and attentive to the cat needs. It was nice to come back to a clean house and calm cats. Highly recommend.”

“Zana was a fantastic sitter, she sent me frequent updates and pictures. The house was left in great shape and most importantly, I know my Dottie got all the love and care she needed!”

“Amanda was awesome! She took great care of my senior dogs and left my home cleaner than it was when I left for vacation. Amanda communicated with me during my trip to let me know the pups were ok and even picked up a few toys for my sweet boy. Will definitely work with Amanda again!”

“Jackie has stayed at my home and cared for my two Tibetan Terriers on several occasions. She is always very attentive and communicative. She has a genuine connection with my dogs and goes the extra mile to learn about them and provide love and care. This time was no exception. I returned to a clean home and two very happy doggies. Without question, I will call on Jackie any time I need a sitter. She is second to none!”

“We loved having Pre stay at our home with our goldendoodle. He was happy and relaxed with her -- he even ate! We can't wait to have her hang out with Eddie again!”

“Can’t say enough positive things about Raimey! She’s taken care of my two kitties a few times now. Most recently one of my babies was a little sick and required medication two times a day. I was a bit nervous with this falling around the time I was travelling but Raimey made me feel very comfortable and handled it like a pro. She’s great with animals and gives regular updates throughout the day! I highly recommend her for your pet needs ☺️”

About: I have over 10 years of experience in pet-sitting, which means I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, cats, sick animals, and behaviorally-challenged animals. I am also a proud pet owner myself - I have a 14-year old rescue dog named Greta, and I often cared for 3 of my roommates' cats in college (Luna, Socks, and Boo Radley). What sets me apart from other sitters is that I will care for your pet like they are my own, meaning constant love and attention, as well as careful attention to detail. I take your care instructions very seriously and follow directions to a tee. Every pet has unique needs, and it is my pleasure to not only meet those needs but also to make sure they are happy and as calm as can be. Because I work remotely, I can be available to pet-sit all day if needed. If my family isn't home, I will need to return a few times a day to care for my own furry friend, but please know that being of service to you means YOUR pet is the priority! Unfortunately, my pup (Greta) is pretty antisocial, which means I am unable to host dogs at my house. Because I live with my parents, they can take care of Greta while I am gone, and I am more than happy to stay at your house as long or as often as you need. I will always make sure your pet gets fed accurately, adequately, and punctually, and always has fresh water available. I also love to play with pets and make sure they get enough outdoor time and exercise if needed! Additionally, I always clean up after myself and your pet, and I make it my goal to leave your home just as it was when I arrived, if not cleaner. If I stay overnight, I always wash the sheets and linens, as well as clean any counter or surface I use.
“Jeff was absolutely wonderful! He took such good care of Hazel and our home while we were away. He is an excellent communicator and just an all around good human. I would recommend Jeff any day of the week and will definitely book him again.”

“Asia took great care of our pup, Juniper, as well as our house. She was really helpful and responsive to our messages. Our flights kept changing and Asia was flexible and made sure Juniper wouldn’t be left alone too long waiting, especially while there were thunderstorms (which scare Juniper). We came home to a happy healthy pup!”

“Cannot recommend Courtney highly enough - she's incredibly compassionate, responsible, and reliable. Our dog got sick as we leaving town, she took excellent care of him - taking him to the vent, communicating as we were getting more information, and making sure our dog was safe and comfortable. She was incredible communicative the whole time, we never had a doubt that our dog was in excellent hands.”

“Lois was wonderful with our dogs and as a housesitter. It was clear to us in photos that Rosie got lots of exercise chasing balls and our older dog Lola was comfortable. We appreciated Lois visiting us for a meet and greet when we met her. She communicated with us with photos and videos often while we were away. Highly recommend.”

About: What sets me apart from other care takers is the level of care and attention I give every animal. I take the time to understand their personality and routine and I prioritize inclusion. I love to keep them active and mentally stimulated especially the ones that are ready to rock and roll! I am always available to give updates and even FaceTime so the owners have peace of mind. I would expect that from anyone taking care of my fur baby as well. I am naturally a very active person and being able to play, walk and care for animals is something I genuinely enjoy doing, so pet care fits perfectly into my routine. I provide attentive, compassionate, and reliable care for pets in my home.I respect each pet owner’s instruction's, including feeding schedules, fresh water, exercise, playtime, medication (if needed), and maintaining a clean environment. I make pets feel safe and comfortable by giving them attention, monitoring their behavior, and respecting their routines.
About: I’m currently training to be a therapist so I have a keen sense for emotions… pets included! I’ve dog sat for family numerous times and am hoping to branch out. I love being around animals, am a very easy guest, and will happily send you any pictures of your pets! I have class 1-9pm on Monday and Wednesday but am mostly free otherwise! I get up early to swim twice a week (Fri and Sat), but can go straight back if needed. I don’t do much, so I’m pretty open! I’m willing to do whatever I can to help the pet feel safe and welcomed. Whether they want to play, rest, eat, or walk, I’m happy to help them out!
“SJ was a super sitter for Mazie! They sent frequent updates and pics, many with her sprawled on their lap. I will definitely request SJ's services again!!”

“Karenna did a great job sitting and walking our high energy shepherd while we were in the area for a wedding. Very communicative and responsible and sent lots of photo updates. Was conscious of keeping our dog safe and happy and we never needed to worry.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Towson
Maria takes such great care of our crew every time she is here. We could tell when we got home that they were so loved and well cared for by her! They were excited to see us, but we know that they were happy and content the entire time Maria was with them. We cannot recommend Maria enough—she has become our go-to sitter for our boys. Thank you, Maria!

I had Mitchell house sit my 120-130lb bernese, Disco, for an overnight while my wife and I were part of a wedding which would really occupy most of our attention. Mitchell is a guy that's easy to trust, easy going, and follows directions well. Disco loved him and seemed to have a great time because hes very tired today. Mitchell took him for several walks through the woods in our property, including down to the stream where disco likes to drink the majority of his water like a camel. We got photos of their adventure all day and while I didn't have time to respond it was good to look at my phone and know hes having a good time instead of just laying by the door waiting for us to come home. I would absolutely recommend Mitchell to other people and hope to book him again when we need him.

Emma was amazing with our very anxious and reactive pup. She replied immediately to a last minute house sitting request, came right over to get the lowdown, was great at keeping Bruno calm, and took great care of him! He developed a little eye irritation while she was with him. She did an excellent job letting us know about it while also conveying that she wasn’t particularly concerned.

Jeff has already been a great dog and house sitter for our neighbors and now we are glad to use his services. He checked in with us and made sure we knew the dogs were being taken care of and he was responsive to request to check on things around the house when it stormed while we were away. He did a nice job tidying up. Jeff also communicated well before our departure to clarify different things.

She is great we have 3 dog and 2 of them can be a little problematic, one is super anxious and bites when she is scared.... But for Suzanne it was just another day. Suzanne is very good a getting back to you as soon as possible, you are getting a true professional sitter vs someone who does it as a hobby. We had Mia watch our pets while we were out of the country which makes for more anxious separation. Mia was great about checking in and giving status reports and pictures. Very comforting. We would definitely recommend Mia as she checked all the expectation boxes and then some!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Towson on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,408 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Towson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Towson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Towson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Towson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
