My dog is very timid and selective. Sarah was gentle and patient. My Quinn went with her on a walk. This was a lifesaver because I recently injured my leg. Thank you, Sarah!

About: My name is Sydney, and I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for a variety of companion animals. I offer comprehensive experience working with dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens, hamsters, rats, as well as sheep, cattle, and other species. My lifelong commitment to animal welfare is evident through my time spent with both healthy and special-needs pets, including those that are disabled or recovering from injury. I am proficient in administering medications and attentive to the specific requirements of each animal. With a deep appreciation for the distinct characteristics of every species, I am prepared to care for pets with professionalism and respect for their individual needs. I am more than willing to come over on rather short notice because your pet is important, and I'm willing to help when I can. I try to care for any client's pets as though they are my own, and their own being. Each deserves to be treated in a specific way that works for them. I will change my approach to each pet in my care. I also keep my clients' homes better than my own. This is not my home, so I take care to keep everything clean and tidy.

About: I've grown up with animals ever since I was a kid, they have always held a special place in my heart. From 3 week old puppies to senior dogs, I know how to care for all. Life happens. Whether it is work or personal, it's important to take time away from home, but now all you need to worry about is finding a trusty and reliable person to take care of your fur babies. And that's where I come in! You can count on me to provide the best care for your little creatures. Your animal is my first priority under my care. Of course I'll do all the basics in terms of feeding them, taking them out for walks, and playing with them. As a pet owner myself of a chocolate Pitty-Lab and a cat, I know what it is like to miss your baby while away. I will always provide you with good communication, updates, pictures and just overall relief knowing that your pet is safe and in good hands. I've pet sitted for family and friends for several years, and I love that I am the first one they call when they need someone to watch over their little companions. I work remotely from home for the most part (with some occasional hybrid work). Because of my schedule, I am very flexible. Watching a pet won't be any issue for me as long as I am not expected to be somewhere. I love staying active so going out for walks and being outside is very important in my everyday life. I own two pets myself, so I have relevant experience taking care of dogs and cats on a day to day basis. I understand how important it is to make time out of my day to play with them and care for them. After all, we are these animal's whole universe so they deserve all the time we can give them! I like to let out any dog I watch pretty regularly, especially if they are younger or older I know how important it is to avoid accidents in the house. Your home will look the exact same it did, meaning you don't have to worry about coming home to a mess after being away. I have also watched cats in the past too. I understand how each cat has their own unique personality and based on that I always respect their boundaries and needs. As a cat owner myself, I know how important it is to keep them mentally stimulated while also giving them the space they may need. I also live in a home with an expansive backyard. I have a chocolate pit-Lab mix who is 1 years old and is very friendly and playful with other animals. I have a cat who is very friendly and good with dogs. Communicate with me the best way to care for your animal and I will certainly follow!

About: I have had family dogs my entire life. I got my very own first pup and love 13 years ago. She unfortunately had cataracts at age 2 (had surgery and can still see now) so I am experienced in administering eye drops and oral medication on a schedule. I’m currently a stay at home mom so I will bring my son with me on drop in visits and walks. I will gladly schedule a meet and greet prior to the dates needed to make sure I am compatible with your pup and they can tolerate my little one. I am available during the day, evenings, and weekends. I am generally a very clean person so I will not make a mess in your house and will be happy to clean up after your pup if they make a mess. I have a travel carpet shampooer if any messes happen on carpet I will clean it just like I would my house. I will always let your dog come to me instead of pushing myself on to them. When they warm up to me we will be best friends!

About: Like many, I grew up with a dog. But now, I can’t imagine life without my own sweet 3yr golden retriever. I’ve worked with her to get her certified as a Canine Good Citizen. Since I know how to read dogs and work with them consistently, I always incorporate training and good habits into a walk. I currently have a repeating drop in, and a regular walk that is ending so I’d love to walk more regular puppers! Last year, I also helped care for a house with three dogs (one was a Cane Corso), a cat, an aquarium, and a bearded dragon, so multiple, even large, animals don’t throw me off. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and post-surgery. It can be hard to trust someone else to care for your furry companions, so I look forward to the opportunity to make you feel comfortable and your pets feel loved and cared for! Feel free to reach out for a meet & greet first, so I can get to know you and your furry friend. I work part time, so dog walks and drop-ins fit easily into my week. I’m currently walking for one regular client and have a lot of availability. Before I leave, I check that doors and gates are secure, confirm collar and leash fit, and make sure water is filled. I’ve worked with food motivated, play motivated, and praise motivated dogs, and adjust my approach to what works for each one. My walks stay consistent, using positive reinforcement, and allowing for plenty of “sniffari” time for enrichment. On days over 95F, I’ll swap the walk for a drop-in instead, to keep the dog safe from the heat.

I first contacted Amirah when my Pit mix underwent back to back major surgeries that left him housebound for several months. We needed help with med administration and potty breaks. Amirah proved herself remarkably reliable, competent, knowledgeable and, above all else, compassionate. She has treated my dog with genuine affection and as he heals I will continue to use Amirah his rehab needs. ( and maybe soon a fun walk in the park and squirrel intimidation!) I am grateful to Amirah for the peace of mind she has afforded me during this rough time. I would unhesitantly recommend her services.

  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
