We came home to two very happy, well taken care of kitties after Libby’s sit! She’s super responsive during the booking process and leaves plenty of pictures and updates while you’re away. We’d absolutely love to have her sit for our girls again in the future!

About: My beloved pet Cookie just passed away at age 18. I gave her plenty of love and care and will do the same for your dog/s. Can’t wait to snuggle with your pet and treat him or her like Family. I live in the Garnet Valley School District and have lots of time to give your dog happy hellos, soft snuggles and loyal Friendship. I have experience in letting dogs out from at their home and taking dogs for walks when owners are away on vacation. I love making dogs happy with kind words, food/treats, sitting next to them and rubbing their belly. My home is perfect for boarding because I live in a quiet, traffic free area and it safe to walk or board your adorable pet. I also have a gated deck to enjoy fresh air when the weather is nice. If your preference is to leave your furry friend in your home, I would gladly come out to your home to look after your pet/s in their familiar environment.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals for about 10 years now. I have worked with some police officers and with world famous dog trainers. I love animals of all shapes and sizes and will be more than happy to spend time with yours. I love to play and go on long walks. I am more than happy and willing to spend time with your pet all day. I can provide great references as well. I work full time hours but I only work 14 days a month so I have plenty of free time to spend with your pets! I couldn't have chosen a better sitter than Margo! She was so wonderful with my senior cat. She went above and beyond, cleaning up her after her and even taking out her litter bags to the trash. I will definitely hire Margo again whenever I need someone I trust to take care of my girl.

About: As long as I can remember I've been an animal lover. I grew up riding horses, working on farms, + living with no less than 3 dogs at a time in my house. As a kid I dreamed of being a veterinarian. I took in all sorts of animals that needed to be nursed back to health from birds + snakes to donkeys + kittens. It was a little like living in a zoo + I loved every second! I rode + trained horses competitively in high school. At 16, I qualified for the junior Olympic team in equestrian eventing. I’m now a mom, my own son is 16, and I own my own photography business capturing families + pets spreading joy + gratitude. Rover is a welcome addition to that career. I absolutely LOVE what I do + am thankful to have the opportunity to support myself + my son serving other animal loving families like us. I work remotely Mondays and Fridays. Tuesday through Thursday I’m in the office 8-5pm in King of Prussia. I’m typically available most weekends but can occasionally offer weekday evening bookings. Safety is a priority for me. I aim to keep your pets routine stable and comfortable so we stick with what they know and don’t try new things until trust has been built.

Liz was amazing!! During the meet/greet, she was very personable, very interested in the dogs, and very patient in letting the dogs acquaint to her. She was reliable and dependable regarding times set up for visits. The reports were very thorough and detailed, along with great pictures. It was our first time using a dog sitter and I feel we got the best one on the first try. Nothing was more comforting know she was there for them and took great and gentle care. We could tell from the pictures how happy and content they were. We will MOST DEFINITELY use Liz again.

About: I provide reliable dog walking and drop-in visits with a focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and happy. During walks, I make sure dogs get the exercise, attention, and fresh air they need while following their usual routines. For drop-in visits, I can feed pets, refresh water, give potty breaks, play with them, and provide plenty of affection and companionship. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable while keeping owners updated with photos and visit notes. I am currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to work around a schedule that works best for your pet. I love to be outside and exercise is something that is very important to well-being. I am up early and available at night as well. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would my own. During walks and drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s routine, provide attentive care, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m also neat, tidy, and conscientious in your home—cleaning up after pets, keeping spaces organized, and leaving everything just as I found it. You’ll receive updates and photos after each visit so you can feel confident your pet and home are in good hands.

Nicole exceeded my expectations for taking care of my cats. She is incredibly reliable, quick to respond to messages or questions, and sent me the best pictures of the cats every day. I had several last minute changes with my arrangements and instructions, and she did an excellent job adapting to the circumstances professionally and helpfully. She gave me great peace of mind while I was away. I will definitely book her for sitting again!

About: Hi, I’m Matt. I love dogs and enjoy giving them a calm, comfortable place to stay while their owners are away. I grew up with dogs and have often helped care for my parents’ and sister’s dogs, so I know how important it is to have someone dependable who treats your dog like part of the family. I work from home in health IT consulting, which allows me to be present during the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, and general companionship. I only take one client at a time, so your dog will get plenty of individual attention and will not be in a crowded boarding environment. I live in a quiet, owner-occupied apartment in West Chester with no children and no other pets. My home is best for small or mid-sized dogs who are comfortable in an apartment setting. While I do not have a fenced yard, I take dogs out for supervised leash walks, and the neighborhood has grassy areas and light local traffic. I’m happy to provide daily exercise, potty breaks every 2–4 hours, and oral medication administration if needed. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and bed if that is what they are used to at home. For safety and comfort, I always like to do a meet and greet before confirming a stay to make sure it is a good fit for your dog, your expectations, and my home environment. I can also provide recommendations/references from people whose dogs I have cared for. I currently accept dogs over 1 year old, crate-trained dogs only, and no females in heat. I’m especially a good fit for dogs who do well in a quieter home and enjoy walks, attention, and a predictable routine. Overnight boarding is based on Rover’s 24-hour booking period. I’m always happy to clarify drop-off and pick-up timing before a stay so there are no surprises. I look forward to helping your dog feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I work from home in health IT consulting and have flexibility throughout the day. I’m usually home during the workday, which allows me to provide regular attention, potty breaks, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. During a typical day, I can take dogs out for potty breaks every 2–4 hours and provide walks or exercise based on the dog’s needs, energy level, and the weather. I also build in time for play, rest, and keeping the dog comfortable in a calm home environment. Because I only take one client at a time, I’m able to keep the schedule focused on that dog’s normal routine as much as possible. I ask owners to share feeding times, walk preferences, medication needs, crate routines, and any special instructions so I can keep their dog’s care consistent and predictable while they are away. I provide a calm, safe, and attentive environment for dogs in my home. I live in a quiet, owner-occupied apartment with no children and no other pets, and I only take one client at a time so each dog receives individual attention. Before confirming a stay, I always prefer to do a meet and greet to make sure your dog is comfortable with me, my home, and the overall environment. I want both the owner and the dog to feel confident that it is a good fit. During a stay, I follow the owner’s care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medication needs, crate routines, walking preferences, and any behavioral or comfort needs. I provide regular potty breaks every 2–4 hours, supervised leashed walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Since I work from home, I am usually able to give dogs attention and supervision during the day. Dogs are welcome on furniture and the bed if that matches their routine at home. I do not have a fenced yard, so all outdoor time is supervised and on leash. My neighborhood has grassy areas and light local traffic, which makes it a good setting for regular walks. For safety and comfort, I currently accept dogs over 1 year old, crate-trained dogs only, and no females in heat. I can also provide oral medication administration when needed. I’m happy to send updates and photos so owners know their dog is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they are away.

About: I grew up having pets since I was born, including dogs, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs and others. My daughters and I have taken care of our neighbors and friends dogs, and we have experience interacting with cats from my brothers and friends. We have a cat named Pumpkin and a guinea pig named Cozy, but my daughters are longing for any dog-sitting especially, so we have plenty of space, love and affection to spare, if needed. I am a teacher with my summers off. My daughters are in camps periodically, but we are largely staying local throughout the rest of the summer, and I have a number of house projects that will keep me based at home for most days. I have a pet-friendly townhouse community that I live in. Safe, slow-moving cars, dog-walking areas with doggie bag stations, coupled with open grassy areas, and conveniently located near several close-by parks and even a dog park 10 minutes way. Other dogs are leashed in the community. If needed, your dog can be kept in our finished basement, with plenty of space to move around. In your home, if you prefer to have the dog walked nearby and/or caged at night, that will not be a problem.

About: I have a lot of experience with pets, both dogs and cats from a young age. I have a five year old Boston terrier at home. I am currently working a full time job, but I would be available for drop in visits/dog walks during the week after 3pm or on the weekends either day or night time. I am currently living in a small apartment so I would not be available for boarding someone else’s dog in my own home. Thank you.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Thornton stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Thornton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Thornton with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Thornton. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
