“We recommend Matt for your pet care. He took care of our 2 dogs and 2 cats while we were on vacation coming three times a day. Matt is very reliable and connected well with all of the pets.”

“Eleanor did an amazing job taking care of our cat Jax that is facing kidney issues. Jax requires multiple oral medicines as well as an IV injection daily, neither of which he is a fan of, but Eleanor was able to swaddle him, administer his medicines, and make it as painless as possible. Would definitely recommend.”

“Ariana was so sweet and responsive. She took great care of our big sweet boy. He took some pictures too which is nice. We will definitely keep using Ariana for walking Rio. Thank you so much!”

“Ami and James were lifesavers and did a great job taking care of our cat while we were away. We really appreciated all their help and communication while we were gone, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for some pet care.”

“Alex is amazing and I feel very lucky to have her care for my cat. My cat really enjoys being with her and always looks happy in the photos and videos she sends. She gives thoughtful updates after every visit and keeps me reassured when I am away. She is easy to talk to and always responsive. I would happily recommend Alex and will absolutely book with her again.”

“Margaret is great to work with. She takes great care of our kitties when we are away, and they seem well-adjusted and appropriately pampered when we get back home! We really appreciate her cat-sitting finesse!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Elizabeth! Came two days in a row with only a one-day notice. She came right on time and took great care of Bogey both days. Communication was great, she sent cute pictures/updates, and it was clear our pup was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I will definitely book with her again!”

About: Hi there! I have experience working with young puppies, adult dogs, and elderly friends. I’ve worked with both high-energy and low-energy dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs with mobility issues. I am so excited to meet your pup and help you out in the process! As a certified dog handler with my local shelter, I’ve received training for safe handling practices, especially with dogs that are new to me. You can feel confident that your furry friend is in good hands. During the summer, I typically work Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00 pm, so I am available for morning and evening drop-ins/walks only. During the school year, my schedule is more varied: Sundays - available until 11:00 am and after 7:00 pm Monday, Wednesday - available until 8:00 am and after 6:00 pm Tuesday, Thursday - available until 12:00 pm, and after 9:00 pm Friday, Saturday - available all day You can rest assured that I will take the very best care of your pup. I take safety very seriously and will do whatever you prefer for your pet’s needs and comfortability.
“Ciana did a fantastic job to care for our cats while we were away. She was always prompt each day, spent time to bond with the cats, and kept things tidy around the house and sent us pictures each day. 5 stars!”
About: I’ve been taking care of my own dog as well as family and friends dogs for about 10 years. I am able to take long walks, feed, and entertain in general. I consider myself very trustworthy as I’ve had a dog my whole life. I recently just graduated college and am back home in Langhorne so I am free on weekdays any time after 12 pm. I can walk around for some good exercise for the dog or just play in the yard. I live in a great area for nice long walks. If I’m staying at a clients home, I provide lots of cuddles inside as well as fun play time outside.
“Maya was great with our 2 dogs. She was reliable and on time for every visit. We were away for a long weekend and were very busy. Her check ins and pictures of the dogs she sent showed me they were good and well taken care of. I would highly recommend her and I will definitely ask her again.”

About: I have a lot of experience with pets, both dogs and cats from a young age. I have a five year old Boston terrier at home. I am currently working a full time job, but I would be available for drop in visits/dog walks during the week after 3pm or on the weekends either day or night time. I am currently living in a small apartment so I would not be available for boarding someone else’s dog in my own home. Thank you.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Thornton. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
