“Cathy took fantastic care of my dog. I was given consistent updates, lots of adorable photos, and she communicated so promptly. I could tell that she treated my dog like he was her own and that helped me to not worry at all during his stay. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy person to watch their dog!”

“Lovely family - I never worried about my dog Cooper at any time. I got pictures of Cooper relaxed and happy. Yara and Angel were very knowledgeable about dogs and very complimentary about my Cooper. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST THANK YOU!!!!!”

“Megan is wonderful! My dog is a bit anxious and needs someone who can offer a lot of attention and care. Megan made me feel so at ease knowing my fur baby was in good hands! Thank you Megan!”

“She was so great! She clearly enjoyed having our dogs around and they looked like they had a blast! I highly recommend her. She was easy to communicate with and coordinate drop off/pick up.”

“Keon did a great job sitting our Cherry, sending us regular photo and video updates. We’re thrilled that Cherry felt right at home and was so happy and cheerful. Highly recommended, and we will absolutely book with him again!”

“In all my years of moving around and needing to trust a new Rover city in each town, Ashley and her family were hands down THE BEST, most compassionate and caring I have come across. We are returning upon every chance we can!!!”

“Shan Shan was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She only takes one dog at a time, so her attention is always on your dog & her one dog, so they get a lot of personalized attention. She gives regular communication, along with pics & videos, so you know how your dog is doing throughout their stay. I feel very confident & comfortable trusting Shan Shan & I will definitely use her again!”

“Ravon took fantastic care of our senior pup. She gave her so much love and attention!! She made sure to fully understand her dietary and exercise needs, which we really appreciate. Ravon definitely provided a safe, home-away-from-home for our girl. She sent us lots of pictures and updates and was very very responsive. We would absolutely book with Ravon again!”

“Polina took good care of Goldie and provided timely updates and pics. She even went an extra mile to buy him food from the store when we were out. Goldie seems happy and didn't even want to leave the house. Very happy that we found her.”

“Bella had a wonderful week-long stay with Heather. Heather was great about having a meet & greet beforehand and was very accommodating about having our adult son pick-up Bella before we returned to town. I love that Heather only takes one client at a time, has a huge fenced yard for play and took Bella on the daily walks she's accustomed to. Many thanks for loving our girl, Heather!”

“Amy is the best! My dog had a wonderful stay- he got lots of cuddles and got to play in her yard. He came back exhausted from all the fun. She sent lots of pictures and was super easy to communicate with.”

“Erin did a wonderful job watching Islay while we were out of town! I appreciated regular updates and Islay seemed very happy and well taken care of. Erin was also flexible and helpful when our flights got delayed! We would definitely book with Erin again in the future.”

“Amber and her family are amazing! They welcomed Melo in as part of the fam for a whole week and he loved it. Their place is a great escape to roam around in nature and close to home. Also chickens… so plenty of entertainment and stimulation! lol”
“Xiuli was an absolute lifesaver! She came through for me in a pinch and did an amazing job caring for my cats. From the very beginning, she was dependable, responsive, and incredibly kind. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and treated my cats with the same care and attention she would give her own. She kept me updated, gave me complete peace of mind while I was away, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Coming back to well-cared-for cats meant the world to me. I highly recommend Xiuli to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable cat sitter. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again! 🐾❤️”

“Serina was WONDERFUL with my senior pup! I was very nervous about leaving Annie somewhere she had never been before, since in the past she's only ever boarded at a familiar facility or stayed with family members. Serina was very flexible with my last-minute request and took great care of Annie. She also sent me very sweet pictures of my girl looking relaxed and happy, which helped settle my nerves. I would definitely send Annie to Serina again!”

Cathy was so patient with my anxious senior boy. She went at his pace and you could physically see in her photos how much more relaxed he was the longer he was with her. She took thorough notes and I trust her wholeheartedly with him. I will 100% be using her services again!

Amber was a GREAT sitter for my high energy Aussie. She made sure she was exercised properly at the right times of the day (because of the September heat wave) and Charlie became my dog’s new bestie. My dog didn’t want to leave when we came to pick her up! You’ll be in good, safe hands with Amber! 10/10 will be using her again in the future.

Cheri, Did a great job with Finn with a very last minute booking as the other pet sitter cancelled at the last minute because of medical issues. Finn came home very happy and Cheri kept me updated with pictures and information about Finn. I would use them again. Thanks, Cherie and family

I was so pleased with Ari. My fur babies loved her instantly and that said a lot to me. She sent updates with pics every day and I loved that about her. She came to my apartment to meet us and she also picked them up the morning of my flight and she also brought them home after we returned home. It was just so convenient and easy with her. I highly recommend her and will definitely be calling on her with all my out of town ventures!!!

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your The Downs.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
