About: I stand out because I truly treat every pet like family. I have hands-on experience volunteering at animal shelters, where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments—including nervous rescues and high-energy pups. I’m patient, gentle, and quick to adapt to each pet’s unique needs. Whether it’s walking, feeding, playtime, or just providing comfort, I bring calm, consistency, and affection. I also understand the importance of routines and know how to care for senior dogs who need a little extra love and attention. I’m comfortable administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions. Your pet’s happiness and safety are my top priorities—and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and notes while you're away! Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for throughout my week. Whether it’s morning walks, afternoon play sessions, or cozy evening check-ins, I build my schedule around giving pets the attention and care they need. I’m naturally active and love being outside, so walking dogs or visiting pets is a part of my regular routine that never feels like work. Because I’ve volunteered at shelters, I’m used to working with different pet personalities and needs—from energetic puppies to older dogs who move at a slower pace. I’m flexible, dependable, and always happy to adjust my day to fit your pet’s routine so they feel safe and cared for even when you’re not home. In a client’s home, I prioritize keeping your pet comfortable by sticking closely to their usual routine—whether that means feeding schedules, walk times, or favorite spots to nap and play. I always make sure they feel safe and cared for by giving them lots of affection, positive attention, and a calm presence. I also keep your space tidy and treat your home with respect. If caring for pets in my own home, I create a peaceful, pet-friendly environment with cozy spots for rest, safe areas for play, and lots of attention throughout the day. I make sure they have everything they need—fresh water, clean feeding areas, bathroom breaks, and companionship. I send regular photo updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for. Whether I’m in your home or welcoming your pet into mine, I focus on creating a loving, stress-free experience that feels just like home.

“Melanie was wonderful. Everyone loves their pets, but I'm incredibly invested in the safety and happiness of my pups and cat. I had zero doubt of the safety and comfort of my two dogs and cat. She did great giving them the attention they needed (casual cuddles: they are so lazy) and sent multiple updates with pictures. The moment I need a sitter I will look for Melanie. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

About: My experience as a pet sitter sprouts directly from my heart! Loving your animals in addition to my reliability, communication, and responsibility is why this job was meant for me. I have been pet sitting for a very long time, and treating your pets like my own is my #1 priority. Pet care fits into my daily and weekly schedule like it’s an academic class. I am a college student at Florida State and have lots of pockets during my day to spend time with your pets! When I meet and greet I try to take in as much information about the pets and their owners as possible, so when I enter their home to care for their pets I can do everything for the pet that owners would do!

About: I’ve lived with pets my entire life, growing up surrounded by animals that truly became part of my family. Over the years, I’ve cared for five dogs and eleven cats, each with their own unique personalities and needs. I’ve handled playful puppies who get into everything, older dogs with mobility issues, and even some with more challenging, aggressive temperaments. I’ve also experienced the full range of cat behaviors—from shy and cautious to bold and mischievous. Because of this, I’ve learned how to read animals’ body language, earn their trust, and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in any environment. Pet care is already part of my everyday life, so fitting it into my routine feels completely natural. I structure my mornings and evenings around feeding, walking, and spending time with animals, and I plan my schedule to make sure I’m available for their needs. Whether that means going on regular walks, cleaning litter boxes, or playing and giving attention throughout the day, I make it a priority. Caring for pets is something I enjoy, so it never feels like a chore—it’s simply built into how I organize my time each week. I care for pets in my clients’ homes, making sure they stay comfortable in their own environment. I follow all instructions carefully—feeding routines, walk schedules, medication needs, and house rules—so pets feel secure and cared for. I always keep doors and gates secure, watch for hazards, and give plenty of attention and reassurance. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities.

Melanie H.Star Sitter

“Melanie was wonderful. Everyone loves their pets, but I'm incredibly invested in the safety and happiness of my pups and cat. I had zero doubt of the safety and comfort of my two dogs and cat. Josie K.
“I was so lucky to get connected with Josie not long after I moved to Gainesville and she is honestly worth her weight in gold! Josie is dependable, conscientious, and dedicated to the animals she cares for. She keeps in good communication and sends me pictures while I am away, a little touch that I absolutely love! My cat, Bella, was a rescue kitty and she is shy and slow to warm up to people but I can honestly say Josie is most likely her second favorite person on earth right now. I'm an indulgent cat mom, and I cannot overstate how much it means to me to know that my fur baby is in such good hands when I am gone. I am so pleased to recommend Josie to anyone who is looking for a petsitter who will treat your pets like her own. Bella would like to add meow meow purr, which I think means that she loves her Josie but is okay sharing her with other pets. 10/10 would highly recommend.”

Tallahassee pet parents share their Rover experiences
Could not recommend Emily & Dom enough to watch your pet! I recently adopted my puppy and am new to Rover and they made the first experience so wonderful. We did a meet and greet where they made sure to ask all the important questions about Bowie’s routine and took thorough notes. During the stay they made sure to send plenty of photos and videos as well as updates. You could tell Bowie was well taken care of and well loved. They also took excellent care of my home while away. Will be booking them again for future sits!

We recently moved to the area and were looking for someone trustworthy to watch our dog—I'm so glad we found Lillie! She was available to meet beforehand, which really helped ease our minds. Our dog can be a little nervous around new people in his home, but Lillie handled him with ease. Throughout the stay, she did a fantastic job. Her communication was great, and she sent plenty of photos and updates that showed our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I felt completely at ease leaving my pup in her hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

Jackson has helped me out with my dog, Frankie, and now Frankie and new addition, El. He's naturally great with my dogs, very comfortable and they like him. He's also very dependable and a nice person. I definitely recommend him for anyone needing walking, sitting, etc.

Emma is so compassionate and responsible! We have three cats, and one of them is very shy and anxious. Our anxious cat usually hides in cabinets when we’re gone in the evening. When we decided to take a two-week trip, we were really nervous—but we felt so much better after meeting Emma. Just a couple of days into our trip, we received pictures of our precious cat sitting on her lap! When we came home, all three cats were happy and relaxed, and our house was well taken care of. We even found an amazing sketch of our cat, which we’ve proudly displayed. If you're heading out on a trip, do your pets a favor and book Emma!

Olivia is so wonderful! She truly went above and beyond to make sure our dog felt comfortable and happy. She was extremely patient with his anxiety issues and quirks. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a loving, playful, and dependable sitter who will go the extra mile for your pet.

Sabrina was an amazing pup sitter for Sailor Mae. She reassured us that our young pup would get plenty of exercise and play. Sabrina was flexible with her work schedule and arrangements to make sure that sailor could split the time between homes. Thanks Sabrina!

Jourdan did an excellent job watching our senior dog. He has several eye medications that he gets multiple times a day and she was very on top of giving them to him. She was very communicative and we didn’t worry about our dog once. Would absolutely rebook with her again!

We had a wonderful experience with Nicole! She took care of our fur babies for a week and was incredibly attentive, sending regular lots of pictures, which we really appreciated. You can tell she genuinely cares—our pups were clearly happy and well loved. Highly recommend her!

Madeline was amazing. She is a natural with dogs. My 3 year old toy poodle has separation anxiety and I had to leave for an event and I must say Milo was very comfortable with Madeline and I can tell he slept through the night. She is very accommodating and I am very glad to say that I’ve come home to a happy little pup! I soo happy to finally find someone that I can trust to take care of my baby.
