Annabelle was an amazing sitter for Ollie. She went the extra mile to come meet us prior to the visit and make sure she was comfortable with Ollie and his routine. She was punctual and was sure to ask any questions she had, which I really appreciated. Ollie can be a bit challenging when I’m not home, but I felt extremely comfortable in Annabelle’s ability to care for him. I would definitely have Annabelle watch Ollie again.

About: I had a Jack Russel Terrier as a kid up until I was 15 years old. I haven’t had a dog since and I have never had cats but rest assured I know how to care for both! My dog died in 2018 and shortly after in 2019 I ended up getting 2 hamsters, and shortly after my animal list grew! I have 3 degus, 2 hamsters, 1 crested gecko, 1 halmahera giant gecko, 2 gerbils and 4 snails! They are all enclosed so the animals I board won’t be able to get to them! My love for animals runs deeper then most and I can assure that your pets will be in safe hands! I can walk your dogs for up to 2 hours everyday if needed! I am a high school student at the moment and graduating in 2021 so I do have school during the day but I am online and not in person so I have the time to care for your dog or cat! I live with my mom and she works from home so that’s another person in the house to help me out if I need it! I work for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services! I work 9 hour days but will be able to come back home during lunch for most house sittings, if not I will communicate that in advance. I will do whatever you need for your pets and customize my routine at your home to your liking! I live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home which has a large unfenced yard. Plenty of walking and play space and I’m able to go on daily runs/walks. There is a dog park nearby which I can go to sometimes but not daily. For house sitting I will do whatever you would like me to do for your fur babies! All I want is for them to be happy and healthy!

Aaliyah is the best and very easy to get along with! She stayed the night with my pup for two nights. She was extremely responsive and sent me regular pictures + updates. She was SO flexible with me pushing the dog sitting back one day and then later asking to extend it another day. She spent a ton of time at the house with Bowie and was intentional about giving him enrichment and playtime. She left the key exactly where I asked her to and locked all of my doors. She was respectful of our home and left it exactly how it was before she got here. She is my new go to pet sitter!

About: I have lived with dogs for 6 years. However, I have been around dogs and provided friends with walks, check-ins, and cuddle/play time for over 10 years. I have walked all sorts of dogs from large to small. I believe in letting them lead pace when it comes to introductions and follow all instructions to the letter. I believe in open communication and love to send pet parents photos of their kids on walks, during play, and lounging around. I have a rather flexible schedule, especially over the weekends and Tuesdays and Thursdays. My goal is to be available for all parents and dogs alike for whatever needs are possible. I like to keep the dogs I have lived with on a routine schedule to avoid stress or separation anxiety. If there is a pet mess I have no problem cleaning up and reaching out in a quick, efficient matter to parents. I measure out food and am good at maintaining a dogs diet and I believe whenever a dog wants belly rubs or play they should be accommodated. I am also experienced with going slow in the acclimation process and do not want to overwhelm of get in their face. I will never put a dog at risk of dangerous encounters.

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have always been the person who wants to love on every critter I meet! I have several sweet fur babies of my own and have cared for all kinds of animals over the years—from dogs and cats to horses, birds, lizards, rats, and pretty much anything else you can name. I’ve also had the opportunity to foster 3 medical puppies through LCHS, along with 1 non-medical foster dog. Fostering has given me even more experience with animals who need a little extra patience, attention, and TLC. I am also familiar and comfortable with administering medicine to cats and dogs from pills to shots and creams. I genuinely love animals and really enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and quirks. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone else, so I take their care very seriously. When your pets are with me, they’ll be treated just like my own with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles (if they’re into that, of course!). I work a full time job M-F but am able to do lunchtime potty breaks. If you are interested in booking over weekdays it would be best that your fur baby can be alone for 4 hour increments. If your pet is people/pet friendly and you approve I am able to bring dogs to my office space. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I treat every pet like my own and take the responsibility of caring for them very seriously. I’ll follow your instructions and routines closely, and make sure they’re happy, safe, and comfortable. I want you to feel completely at ease while you are gone and pride myself on sending often updates and photos of your fur babies.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs my entire life, from small breeds (Boston Terrier) to big dogs (Great Pyrenees) and have always loved caring for them. I also have years of experience fostering dogs (Golden Retrievers), which has taught me how to be patient, attentive, and adaptable to each dog’s unique personality and needs. As an FSU grad student, I’d love the opportunity to spend my free time giving dogs the exercise, attention, and companionship they deserve. Pet care has always been a natural part of my daily and weekly routine. Growing up, I fostered Golden Retrievers, which taught me a lot about caring for dogs with different personalities and needs. I’ve also had two different Great Pyrenees, so I’m very comfortable caring for large dogs and understand the importance of consistent exercise, feeding, grooming, and attention. On top of that, I’ve dog-sat for several friends’ dogs, giving me experience with different breeds, temperaments, and routines. Overall, I really enjoy being around animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. Growing up fostering Golden Retrievers gave me experience caring for dogs with different personalities and needs. I’ve also had two Great Pyrenees, so I’m comfortable with large dogs and understand the importance of proper feeding, exercise, grooming, and attention. I’ve also dog-sat for several friends, which has given me experience adapting to different dogs, routines, and household environments. In a client’s home, I would follow their specific instructions for feeding, walks, medications if needed, playtime, and other daily routines. I also make sure to give pets plenty of attention, keep their space clean, and communicate with the owner about how their pet is doing. My goal is to make each pet feel comfortable and cared for while their owner is away.

I have so many great things to say about Analia and I probably won’t fit them all in this review, but I’m going to try. My partner and I were going on a cross country road trip for two weeks and found ourselves in need of a sitter for our two dogs the day we were supposed to leave for our trip. Before we even met, Analia left an incredible impression. She was compassionate, understanding, and flexible. She agreed to watch our dogs and stop by less than 12 hours before we had to leave. Our dogs are still young and in training, and for some people they can be a bit overwhelming. Analia was not phased at all by this, and from our first interactions, I could tell she was going to give just as much love and attention as we would. She had already looked over our care instructions and remembered facts about them, but she really took it a step further by asking how she could continue their training (something that means a lot to us, but we don’t always expect of others because it can be challenging; we were floored by her thoughtfulness and generosity). We left town feeling so secure having Analia taking care of our dogs. Analia continued to exceed expectations throughout our trip. She very intentionally sent updates, photos, and videos nearly every day, was super flexible when we ran out of food because our shipment didn’t come in, and went out of her way to bring our dogs new toys. When our arrival back home was delayed, Analia was incredibly accommodating and watched the dogs for a couple extra days despite it being last minute and her already having other plans. I feel so lucky to have been connected with Analia, not only because she was a great sitter for our dogs, but because she is such a kind and compassionate person, and was someone I thoroughly enjoyed talking to throughout our trip. She truly is a gem, and someone we will continue to trust our dogs with. If you take anything away from this review, it is that you should end your search here and choose Analia, because you will not regret it.

Mckenzey is a jewel! This is our first time availing ourselves of any professional pet sitting service, so we were anxious about being away for as long as we were. However, during our trip, Mckenzey sent photos, responded to our texts right away, and apparently folded seamlessly into the lives of our pets - all this during what had to be one of the rainiest, stormiest early summers ever. We arrived to a sparkling clean home as well as clean, sweet smelling dogs. She clearly loves animals and enjoys this part of her life - we are so lucky to have found her. We recommend her without reservation and hope for her return to sit for our gang soon and often

Lacy was great to work with; understanding and was able to adjust when we had to modify our travel plans. She also did a meet and greet prior to booking. She stayed at our house while we were out of town for a little over a week, giving us peace of mind knowing that someone was here at our home looking not only over our animals, but over our property. She sent updates and pictures every day and followed our instructions for pet care well. She notified us when one of our cats got his pet tracking collar off, that a tree branch had fallen in our road, and would reach out if she had any questions about anything. Our animals really enjoyed her company and even had our more hesitant/avoidance cat eventually come around.

5 stars does not do Blakely justice. She came by days in advance to meet my dog and get familiar with her. The genuine sincerity she has not only as a dog lover but as a person was glaring from the start. I’ve booked multiple Rovers in the past few years but this one was different, it was like she was family with my dog from the start. And I thought I couldn’t be more happy with her until she actually did the sitting. She arrived when she told me she would, she went above and beyond anything I could have expected with pics, videos, and instant communication. I have never left my dog and felt so at ease (even with family) as I did leaving her with Blakley. The attention to detail and the things she did to make my dog happy and spoil her was exceptional! I can assure you, you will not find a better person (not just sitter, but person) to keep your pet, she is as good as it gets! I more than highly recommended her and I guarantee you’ll feel the same way I do. Book her now! But, only if I don’t need her (haha) because she will be my sitter and my dogs friend for as long as possible! Thank you Blakely!!! What an incredible experience and day you gave my little girl, and I could not be more appreciative!!! 🧡💙

FAQs for House Sitting - Tallahassee

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tallahassee on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 331 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tallahassee. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tallahassee walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tallahassee maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tallahassee choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
