“Julie and her family were excellent with my somewhat anxious dog Sammy, and made him feel at home from the beginning. She sent daily pics/videos. Highly recommend her!”

“Colleen was a great match for our 8 month old Bernese! She was able to manage his puppy energy while having other dogs and sent daily updates while we were away! Would definitely trust Bogey to be with Colleen again ◡̈”

“Rachel & Dan are amazing! Leaving your fur baby with strangers is a HARD choice, but Rachel sent me updates and photos everyday to ease my heart and mind. I was so thankful to see her everyday. They stayed up to accomadate my late flight home and sent my girl home with the sweetest surprise. I would 100% recommend.”

“Pam and Evan were wonderful! Very welcoming and warm sitters! Louie enjoyed his time so much with them! Great photos too! We already have 2 more bookings set!”

“Keith & Rebecca took such great care of our dog Pippy! They were very easy to communicate with & sent many photos & updates, which we really appreciated! They exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend!”

“Samantha was a kind and caring sitter! She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated on how my puppy was doing. She also has 2 small and very well behaved pups and this was great for socialization. Very happy to leave my puppy with Samantha.”

“Very kind, understanding and accommodating. He will absolutely be our go to person to care for Jasper. If you want to breathe easy and know your dog is being cared for and having fun, Ben is who you want watching your dog. I loved seeing pictures of Jasper making new friends or just relaxing super close to Ben. Jasper is a very close snuggler and it was nice to see he could snuggle and be in his happy spot.”

“Great sitter. Anita is obviously an animal lover. She provided daily pictures and texts regarding Mona’s day. It was nice to know I could travel and not have to worry about how she was doing.”

“Amazing dog sitter, would highly recommend. You can really tell that she and her husband care and love the dogs so much. So glad and reassured that Miso was in their hands for a week and had so much fun. Would book again for future trips!”

“I was super nervous about leaving my puppy Simba for the first time. Zachary and his family took great care of him. I love that the backyard is fenced in and the dogs are able to run and play. When I picked my puppy up, he wasvery relaxed and calm and you can tell he had a good time I will definitely book with Zachary and his family for all of my future dog sitting needs.”

“Stacie and Doug took great care of Natty. They sent us a few pics and updates, and I could tell she felt right at home with their family and dog, Jane! We will definitely be booking again.”

“Winston had the best stay! This was my first time ever leaving him, and I was understandably nervous, but I felt completely at ease from the start. There was constant communication throughout his stay, with updates that made me feel confident he was in great hands. He was truly treated like part of their family, not just a dog they were watching. I’m so grateful for the care, attention, and love they showed Winston, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel was amazing to work with. She was very responsive and sent pictures of my dogs throughout their stay, she took them on walks, and I felt truly at ease with them at her house. Will definitely use again.”

“Archna did great with my pups (11yo lab and 1yo aussie mix). I usually board the dogs at our vet, but they were full over Christmas. I think they were much more comfortable with Archna. They got personalized attention, and she sent updates/ pictures thru the week. I would use Archna again!”
“Tom and Tolley and the whole family are great! This was our dog’s third stay (2nd boarding overnight) and we were a little apprehensive initially, because our dog has separation anxiety. Our dog did very well and was very excited to go back. Tom and Tolley were professional, reassuring, caring and receptive to our dogs needs. She was treated like one of the family and had a great time.. received daily updates (text, photo, video) with feedback during her stay. It was a very positive experience overall for us and our dog. It was nice to get away and not worry and feel comfortable that our dog was in good hands and we could trust them to provide and care for her. 100% positive experience.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Solon
Susan and Kenny are extremely professional and caring. We were very comfortable leaving our 6 yr old Bichapoo with them knowing she was being very well cared for. They are highly communicative and responsive and we were very happy with our experience. They are small dog whisperers and clearly understand how to work with and care for small dogs.

Taya & Richard were great! Our dog was very happy… & he is not good with strangers or new environments. Our cats were not happy, but they had never been away from home since we adopted them a couple years ago… They ate & used their box regularly, so no concerns health-wise. They are very happy cats back home! Thank you!
Dana was great. She did everything we asked and communicated well. She walked our dog 3 times a day and sent plenty of pictures to let us know how she was doing throughout her stay. We also had some medicine that we needed applied and she did that as well. We are going on another trip in a few weeks and we are planning on using her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
