“Ashlee took such good care of my fur babies and made me feel so comfortable with leaving them in her care. She kept in touch with me throughout her stay and sent pictures as well. I will be using her again if she will be available at that time of need. Thank you again Ashlee.”
“Zoe was amazing! She was super flexible and understanding with last minute changes that happened! Our dogs were well taken care of and well loved! We will definitely be using her again when needed!”

About: Hello my name is Arianna!! I really love animals especially dogs! Currently I have a Dutch Shepherd/Jack Russel Terrier mix, her name is Dakotah. She’s such a sweet dog! I really like taking care of animals. I am honest, trustworthy, reliable, hard working, and responsible. I am big on planning ahead and making sure everything goes as planned. I know it can be scary having other people watch your pets. I can relate to that when I need someone to watch Dakotah. I will always make sure your doggy is taken care of and loved while mom/dad are away so they never feel alone!! I would love to watch your precious dogs so let’s set up a time and get this pawty started! I’m currently home full time, so all the doggies will have my full attention!! My availability is pretty much fully available. I am more of a homebody and prefer to stay home. For boarding and doggy day care, I give the dog(s) a daily walk along with spending time both indoors and outdoors. I have toys for the dog(s) to play with along with water that is always out if they need water. I can put the water up if there are any dogs that drink too much water. I like to closely follow a routine for each dog to maximize the care and comfort because the dog is in a new environment and it can be stressful for the dog. For drop-in visits, walking, or house-sitting, I like to follow the owner’s care instructions and routine since I will be dropping by their own home environment and want to continue with their own routine to maximize that dog’s security, comfort, and routine. I am very big on communication to ensure both owner and dog(s) is/are comfortable and secure in knowing that I am taking care of and loving on their furry child. Because at the end of the day that is what I am here to do: I am here to take care of and love on your furry child as if the dog is my own for the time being.

About: I’ve pay attention to dogs personalities and enjoy surrounding myself with animals. Nothing more brings me joy than a happy pet! I can teach dogs tricks especially if they’re food motivated it’s fun to see how clever they are. I’m working part-time unfortunately right now I can’t house any dogs unless they are smaller/lapdogs. I am willing to housesit and have a vehicle to provide guaranteed transport. I live next to a park that’s friendly for dogs and I’m available to walk them just about anytime. To care in your home I’m willing to go to dog parks or long walks in the neighbor to reach their needs.
About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember—starting at just 10 years old with our family pets. Growing up in a home with 7 dogs and 1 cat has given me hands-on experience with a wide range of personalities, needs, and care routines. I’ve helped raise puppies from their earliest stages all the way into adulthood. Because of this, I understand how important it is to provide pets with patience, consistency, and lots of love. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or more relaxed and routine-oriented, I’m confident in my ability to keep them safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m a full-time teacher, which means I have a structured and dependable schedule throughout the school year (Unavailable from 7am-4pm). During the summer months, I do not work, so I have much more flexibility and availability. I’m available during weekdays and Saturdays to provide any pet care assistance you may need, and I’m happy to work with your schedule to ensure your pets are well taken care of. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and comfortable as possible. I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, portion sizes, medications if needed, and preferred exercise routines. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection, while also respecting their individual personalities and energy levels.
About: Hi, I’m Audrey. I’m a dog walker and pet sitter serving the Lubbock County area and I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, pet sitting, and house sitting. I’d love to help care for your dog!! I grew up around dogs and have experience with many different breeds and backgrounds — from Chihuahuas and Basenjis to Huskies and Pitbulls. I know how to work with dogs and other animals who have special needs or sensitivities from my time helping on my grandmother’s rescue farm. I’ve also picked up grooming and basic training skills, so I can handle brushing or practice commands if that’s part of your dog’s routine. My schedule is flexible, and I focus on giving each pet the attention they need. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, or extra care for older dogs and those with special needs, I’m patient and reliable. :) People I know often trust me with their own animals, and I bring that same care to every booking. I’ll send regular photos and updates so you can feel confident your dog is happy and well looked after If you’d like, we can do a quick meet and greet first to see if it’s a good fit. Please send me any anything you’d like to inquire about! Availability: 🐾 Weekdays: Early mornings, afternoons, evenings 🐾 Weekends: Open availability Saturday, Sunday I’m happy to coordinate exact visit times based on your pet’s routine. Just let me know what works best, and I’ll do my best to make it happen! I currently attend school, work, and volunteer entirely online, which means I have a very flexible schedule and can usually accommodate short-notice bookings. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to get to know each animal’s unique needs, preferences, and boundaries so they feel secure and cared for, even when you’re not home. I’m always respectful of your space and keep things clean and tidy while house sitting or dropping in. I follow all instructions closely and ask questions if anything is unclear to make sure your pet’s routine stays consistent. I pay close attention to pet body language and behavior so I can respond calmly and appropriately in any situation. I’ll never force interaction, especially with shy or nervous pets. I’m also confident handling high-energy dogs or pets with special needs. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and honest communication so you never have to wonder how things are going. My goal is to earn your trust and make your pet feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away.
“We left our two pups with very different personalities with Paul and I cannot write enough wonderful things about the experience! Paul was very communicative, sending a ton of updates, photos, and videos. The pups always looked happy and engaged and we are so thankful they were in great hands while we were away!”

About: I have tons of experience with pets of all kinds and house sitting! I have special experience with senior dogs and handling any medications needed! I am currently working mostly weekends and some weekdays but am always off after 4 , so I can spend plenty of time with your pets! I have a fenced yard with a doggy door that my own dog uses, but I can easily let your dog out at any time!

About: I have been pet sitting for about 2 years, but it is my favorite side job! I love animals of all kinds and sizes and have been trusted to stay in homes to take care of people’s beloved family members, and their home. I’m currently an elementary school teacher at Wolffarth Elementary in North Lubbock. Depending on what area I am in, I will usually leave with enough time to get to work by 7am. I cannot leave for lunch as I sadly only have 30 minutes, but I am done by 4 every day. This makes it easy to spend the evening with them and I won’t have different hours every day - routine is great for pets! I also share holidays with students so I am pretty available for sitting jobs at those times. While my apartment is a 1 bedroom, it is cozy and great for lower energy dogs. I have plenty of space for them to lay out and they stay in the air conditioning all day. For more active pets, I live right next to a middle school with a paved track for walking, and I am close to a park for dogs who love to run and play fetch!
“Savannah was great with our girls while we are out of town! They were a little disappointed for us to come home I think ? Definitely recommended! She kept in touch with us through our trip and I was at ease knowing she was with them!”

“She did great with my dog and followed the instructions I left perfectly. I loved that she sent pictures everyday with updates at least twice a day. Will be booking again if needed.”

“David was great with Lily. The fact that she ate while we were gone is always a good sign. He sent a few pictures and videos as well which made us feel good about leaving Lily in our home.”

“Isabella took care of my cat for 5 days, and both she and her partner were incredibly kind, polite, and flexible. Whenever I asked, they sent me photos and videos of my cat and kept me updated about how he was doing. Thanks to them, I felt much more relaxed and comfortable while I was away from my little cat. I truly appreciate their care and support.”

About: I’ve taken care of multiple dogs throughout my life. When family friends have gone out of town I have watched their dog or their cat along with taking care of my dogs and cat. Pet care fits into my week well as I have the time to stop by during lunch and the late afternoon to walk, feed, or take care of a pet especially on weekends. I feed my pets, walk them, play and spend time with them, and I protect them at all costs no matter what. I make sure to spend time with them daily as they are a part of the family.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Slide on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 256 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Slide. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Slide walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Slide maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Slide choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Slide. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
