“Stephanie took care of our sassy little maltese like her own! She gave alot of updates and sent pictures/videos. It's our first time booking through rover and we will definitely book her again for our next trip. Thanks, Stephanie!”

“Anthony took great care of our girl for a long weekend. He accommodated a late booking request and meet and greet when our other sitter had to cancel unexpectedly. During the stay, he communicated updates and pictures to us daily. Our pup was spoiled with multiple walks per day and given lots of attention. We will be booking stays with Anthony again!”

“We cannot begin to express how thankful we are to have found Christina and Garrett! We've never boarded our hyper, super loving, and anxiety filled pitty before and only ever done drop in visits in our own home. We wanted our girl to be able to socialize and get endless amounts of love while we were away but the anxiety/guilt we felt considering "boarding" weighed heavy on us...that is until we met Christina and Garrett!!! The initial meet and greet was extremely thorough and a control environment. Garrett even sat in the dirt with our princess to give her the love she needed to regulate while being introduced to other members. Their knowledge of training showed throughout this initial meeting. Their communication never lacked and you could see the love she received through the pictures we received daily. Our dog had so much fun, she stayed with them again for Thanksgiving! Absolutely recommend!”

“This was our 1st time using Rover and was a little nervous leaving my baby with someone i didnt know. My pup had a wonderful time, received updates and photos which helped keep my mind at ease. She was well taken care of and got to hav a vacation with other pups while we were gone. Will definitely recommend Shannon and will use her again in the future. Thank u again”

“Montarius did a fantastic job with our dog. She’s not necessarily an easy one, but she warmed up to him quickly and they spent 11 days together with no problems. I’d use him again.”

“Kayla did an awesome job. This was our first time using the Rover service and we were very pleased. Our puppy had a hard time adjusting at first but Kayla was patient with him and he had a great time for the rest of his stay. Will definitely use her again.”

“I can’t thank her enough for helping me out on such short notice! She took my dog in last minute for the weekend and made the entire process so easy and stress-free. She kept me updated, treated my dog like one of her own, and it was obvious my pup was happy and well cared for. It’s such a relief knowing I have someone I can trust when unexpected things come up. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you again!”

About: Animal lover with hands-on experience raising wildlife from a young age and a professional background as a veterinary technician. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all personalities, ages, and medical needs. What sets me apart is the calm, patient, and attentive care I provide — I treat every pet like family and focus on making them feel safe, loved, and stress-free while you’re away. Pet care naturally fits into my daily life as I’m currently home all day with a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give pets the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. I’ve raised wildlife from a young age and also have a background as a veterinary technician, so I’m comfortable with pets of all ages, personalities, and needs. My home provides a safe, calm, and loving atmosphere where pets are treated like family. I also currently volunteer at the humane society with my daughter, which reflects how important animal care and compassion are in our everyday lives. I have a fully fenced backyard, plenty of dog toys and treats, and provide a safe, loving environment for pets. We currently do two walks a day with our pup, River, so daily exercise and attention are already part of our routine. We also have two dog-friendly cats that are comfortable around other animals.
“I love that you took my baby boy in last minute and with great care. She sent pictures of him and also, let me not worried about him too much. My baby boy had issues prior to his foot, before drop off. I asked if she was ok with accommodating him and she said yes. She did an amazing job at the care and came back with no issues with his foot after. I really appreciate it. I see I have found my number 1 sitter for my out of town meetings or vacation. Thanks again for taking care of ghost for me. 😊”

“Jamie and Aaron were amazing!! Max had the best time and I think he was sad to leave. They provided pictures and video while he was there. Will definitely use them in future!!”

About: With years of experience in high-end dog training, sitting, and walking, I offer more than just pet care—I provide expert, personalized attention for your dog. I understand canine behavior on a deep level, ensuring your pup feels safe, engaged, and loved while you're away. Whether it’s reinforcing good manners, going on structured walks, or providing calm companionship, I treat every dog like my own. I currently work from home with a flex work schedule, which makes me available for pet care anytime. I can work my schedule to be tailored to your pets needs. I have a large back yard and dogs of my own to keep your fur baby company. For walks, I tailor each to your fur baby’s needs, spending more time outside with high energy dogs, and taking shorter walks for older pets. All walks and care come with the most snuggles.

About: I’ve dog sat for family members on multiple occasions. The dogs seen in my photographs are family dogs that have stayed in my home. I will adhere to the preference of pet owners on if the pets can interact with other pets. I work full-time as a remote employee for Royal Canin. I’m actively provided breaks, lunches, and planned time that I could take out and feed pets. While my residence is unfenced, the neighborhood is very safe within a small town. The pets will be free to move about inside of the home and I can accommodate if they need to be on a leash even in the backyard.
“Diane is the best sitter ever. Flexible with pick up and drop off times. She sends so many photos of your fur babies having fun. Next time I need a sitter they will be visiting their new friend Diane again!”

This was the first time we had to leave our 10 year old lab with someone other than her normal dog sitter and somewhere other than our home, so I was a little apprehensive. Matthew eased my mind tremendously! He sent wonderfully detailed updates each day along with pictures. I will definitely book him again if the need arises.

Rachel was excellent with our cat while we were out of town. It was nice to enjoy the trip without having to worry about him. Drop off and pickup was easy and the cat had a nice place to stay. Rachel communicated with us daily and provided pictures of the cat enjoying his space and getting plenty of attention.

Cassandra was an amazing sitter for Sandy! We were nervous leaving Sandy for 3 weeks but she had a great time with Cassandra and her dogs. We received regular photos and videos, and she made sure all Sandy’s needs were well taken care of. We will definitely be using Cassandra again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
