“Shonte was absolutely amazing! I didn’t have to worry about my pups at all, they were definitely in great hands. She kept us updated with photos & videos throughout the day. She really went above & beyond any expectations. Great experience! I would 10/10 recommend!”

“Ashley and her family were such good hosts for my doodle, Herman. He is a 1.5 year old big baby. It was evident in the photos and correspondence while I was away that he was getting all the attention he was used to—and more! Ashley was very responsive throughout Herman’s 6 night stay. I highly recommend letting her watch and care for your fur-baby too!”

“This lovely young couple treated my Sadie as if she were their own. While I was away on my trip,I was contacted every day with a picture and a report. Sadie is 12 years old and it’s hard to leave her but I would leave her with this couple again! Thank you, Morgan and Eric appreciate it!”

“Alex and her family were amazing! She was extremely easy to work with and communicate with. I was almost afraid Cooper would want to stay with them after his two week visit. Photos came regularly. Honestly, she was the best and only rover sitter we will ever use again! Thank you, Alex!”

“Lucy was fantastic! From the start, her communication was excellent, and she kept me updated throughout my dog's stay with thoughtful messages and photos. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was in such capable hands. She was clearly experienced, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my dog was comfortable and well cared for. I felt completely confident in her abilities the entire time, which made it much easier to enjoy my trip. I would absolutely book with Lucy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional sitter. Thank you, Lucy, for taking such great care of my pup!”

About: I have taken care of pets for over 20 years for friends and family. Beau loved to have playmates and loves to have fur baby company!! My love for animals will be noticed immediately when I meet your pet!! I gravitate to them in parks, stores, neighborhood walks and they do to me! My frenchie goes most places either me including to work, stores, tennis club and even Freddy’s! Dogs are family and I will treat yours like mine! I’m available to board pets from Friday afternoon through Sunday nights or early pick up on Monday am. I provide Daycare on Tuesdays. I can often be flexible with individual needs. I have a very nice one story home in beautiful, safe neighborhood. My Frenchie welcomes your pet so he has a playmate or resting buddy. We take walks at least twice daily. House is open floor plan for plenty space to play. We spend time on my large enclosed patio to toss the ball and plenty sitting and relaxing areas. I will always be on patio with pets. They will never be left out without me as my own practice with my Frenchie. Free feeding and water all day unless you requests different. When I leave house the pets will be gated in room separated unless you request your pet crated. My frenchie will also be in separate room. Your pet will love it here with me and Beau! They will get best personal care and plenty attention.

About: I’ve dog sat for family members on multiple occasions. The dogs seen in my photographs are family dogs that have stayed in my home. I will adhere to the preference of pet owners on if the pets can interact with other pets. I work full-time as a remote employee for Royal Canin. I’m actively provided breaks, lunches, and planned time that I could take out and feed pets. While my residence is unfenced, the neighborhood is very safe within a small town. The pets will be free to move about inside of the home and I can accommodate if they need to be on a leash even in the backyard.
“We love Paula and, most importantly, our little Augie loves her, too! She takes excellent care of the dogs in her care and you can tell she really enjoys them! So glad we found her with the help of Rover!”

“Adela took amazing care of my dog Sammy during his 6‑day stay. She sent daily photo updates that gave me so much peace of mind while I was on vacation. She also paid close attention to his behavior and let me know about some anxiety signs she noticed, which will really help me prepare him for future stays in other homes. She even went above and beyond by picking Sammy up so I could finish loading my car—such a thoughtful gesture. I could tell from his photos and his happy, relaxed demeanor when I picked him up that he felt comfortable and loved in her home. Her whole family did a wonderful job caring for him. Highly recommend Adela. If they will have him Sammy will definitely be visiting again.”

“Jackie and Enoch were great with Mia! Mia had a blast with their pup, with plenty of space to run around and a cozy home to rest after all the fun. They provided plenty of pictures/updates and we're always quick to respond. We would happily have them watch Mia again!!”

“Simone was great with our pup! This was the longest we've ever left him so I was a little worried about how he'd react. She made him comfortable and he always seemed happy if every picture/video. She was always responsive, sent updates to ease my mind, and provided a safe and clean place for our furry family member. We will definitely book with Simone again and would recommend her to anyone in the area.”

“Stephanie was a wonderful sitter! She accepted a last minute booking for our two dogs and kept us updated throughout the whole time we were gone. Our dogs were very well taken care of and we will certainly be boarding with Stephanie again!”

About: Hi, thank you so much for stopping by to read through my profile. I have loved and taken care of friend’s and family’s dogs for years. Big, small, medium, even tempered, wild, mellow- I absolutely love them all. I have a 12 year old lab, who has slowed down a lot. She is my everything. I find something about raising a dog from a young pup to an aging one, so very special and rewarding. If your dog is fast paced or likes to smell every blade of grass, I’m game. Rain, shine, or snow, I’m available. I’d absolutely appreciate it if you gave me the opportunity to spoil your dog, not just walk or watch. I understand these are your babies. My house is set up well with a fenced in back yard and lots of attention and love offered. Let me know what questions or concerns you might have! I work Monday-Friday, I am usually free in the evenings and off on Thursdays typically. I’m free on most holidays(so keep that in mind).** I am free on most weekends. ** My job is flexible, 12 mins away, making it easy to drop by my house throughout the day. My house is open and I have a great fenced in area. Your dog will be spoiled rotten over here. Lots of pets and attention. I also know how important a walk is to a dog, it’s the highlight of their day! We’d make the most of it.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
