About: I’ve had pups of my own my whole life. I love all animals and want to make sure your other half is cared for! I work five days a week but I am allotted an hour everyday at lunch to go provide care to your furry friend! After work I will be able to let them out and get them out for exercise ! I always ensure that the animals care is met based on their specific needs, walks are very important and making sure they have ample time to get their energy out.

“Absolutely wonderful! Our cat Moose had her first big trip outside our home since we’ve adopted her. She was very nervous yet curious about the new change for the day, but she did great with the massive help of Jennifer. Jennifer was very accommodating and helpful - she sent updates throughout the day with photos and messages of Moose’s day! I would greatly recommend Jennifer, especially for first timers who are unsure about their cat staying somewhere other than their own home.”

“We appreciated Nana taking on Mowgli for a few days. She always kept us updated and welcomed Mowgli to her home. I appreciated the pictures and detailed updates throughout his stay. Mowgli was very happy since he got to play a lot and was very well taken care of.”

“Our pup was in excellent hands with Mary! She was able to help us out with a last-minute request, and took great care of Sandy - sent us pictures & updates and was easy to communicate with. We won’t hesitate to book with her again.”

“Stephanie took care of our sassy little maltese like her own! She gave alot of updates and sent pictures/videos. It's our first time booking through rover and we will definitely book her again for our next trip. Thanks, Stephanie!”

About: I can do it all from big breeds, to small breeds; from happy breeds, to sad breeds. I’ve also got experience in tending to aggressive animals or animals who react out of fear so don’t worry! Growing up, I had an aggressive pup who people refused to come around and it made things hard on me, I want to give ALL pet parents a chance to feel safe knowing their aggressive or reactive dog is in good hands. I know the do’s and the don’t’s! Animals are a passion and if I could have every animal in the world, I would! Give me a shot to take care of your baby and you won’t regret it! I’m an active duty military member, but I work in a 24hr shop so my schedule shifts a lot. However, that is no issue for me as long as I have a heads up from my clients! I will work with them to create a schedule that best suits both me and the animals! Your animal is now a priority of mine(: I have a 6” vinyl privacy fence with a very large backyard. I have 3 dogs of my own and can accommodate some animals in my home. However, I will need to have your animals formally meet mine before making that decision so that we don’t put anyone in harms way. I will also request an updated shot record for any animals entering my home and will provide you with the same(:

“Return customer here and very happy with the way the dogs are cared for by Ashley and her family. They have a nice clean home and a large fenced backyard for the boys to play in.”

“I was so grateful to find Simone over the holidays, and even more relieved to learn she had already met my dog through her previous sitter (who was her sister). Such a small world! Simone and her family are wonderful, loving, and clearly experienced with dogs. I felt confident knowing my pup was in great hands, and she had an excellent time. Highly recommend!”

“Lucy was great! Excellent communication both before and during our dog’s stay. We highly recommend Lucy to anyone looking for a nice and comfortable place to stay in St. Louis.”

“Amy and Peter are seriously the nicest people we have ever met. They sent TONS of pictures and took great care of our pup as usual. They treated our puppy as if it was their own. They even brought him to our wedding to take photos allowing our day to be extra special. We are so grateful to have Amy and Peter in our lives as well as our pups. We look forward to using them again in the future.”

About: I’ve dog sat for family members on multiple occasions. The dogs seen in my photographs are family dogs that have stayed in my home. I will adhere to the preference of pet owners on if the pets can interact with other pets. I work full-time as a remote employee for Royal Canin. I’m actively provided breaks, lunches, and planned time that I could take out and feed pets. While my residence is unfenced, the neighborhood is very safe within a small town. The pets will be free to move about inside of the home and I can accommodate if they need to be on a leash even in the backyard.
“Sarah was an absolute pleasure to work with. My pup was in great hands and thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I was kept up to date of their adventures with texts and photos, and never doubted that my boy was in good hands. Sarah will be my first choice in the future. Im so glad to have someone to trust and rely on to take care of my pup. Thank you so much Sarah!”

“Madeline was absolutely AMAZING! Our two dogs stayed with her for 5 nights, and we received frequent updates and photos the entire time. I highly recommend her!”

“Loya was great watching our dog while we were on vacation! Milo has a separation anxiety, she took good care of him and spoil him. She sends us pictures and video daily. Will definitely ask her again to watch Milo!”
“Reba was a great sitter! Very communicative and plenty of photos to let me know how my dog was doing. Reba has a great outdoor space for the dogs and cared for mine like one of her own. Will DEFINITELY be coming back.”

“Nicole and Tim were great sitters! They were flexible, very quick to respond, and their home was very clean. They took great care of Quinn and I know she had a great time with them.”

Rachel was excellent with our cat while we were out of town. It was nice to enjoy the trip without having to worry about him. Drop off and pickup was easy and the cat had a nice place to stay. Rachel communicated with us daily and provided pictures of the cat enjoying his space and getting plenty of attention.

Hazel did an amazing job with my two cats! She provided them with excellent care and comfort during their first ever boarding experience. Hazel provided daily updates with pictures and was generally very communicative during the entire process. I absolutely recommend Hazel for sitting your cat(s). A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
