Where Every Kitty Feels at Home <3

Hi! I'm Rachel, a dedicated pet caregiver with a lifelong love for cats and a professional background in healthcare and grooming. I’ve proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aerospace Medical Technician, where I developed skills in patient care, attention to detail, and calm under pressure, all of which I bring into my work with animals. As a licensed esthetician, I also offer gentle, effective grooming services with a soothing touch. I understand feline behavior, body language, and how to keep even the most anxious cats calm and comfortable. With five cats of my own, some of whom I’ve rescued, I truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your fur baby. What sets me apart is my unique blend of professional medical experience, customer service, and true compassion for animals, especially rescue and senior cats. I'm also familiar with TNR (trap-neuter-return) practices and plan to pursue certification soon to deepen my commitment to rescue work. I’m also home majority of the time as I attend school fully online. Whether it’s caring for shy seniors, grooming long-haired cats with matted coats, or simply offering a calm and cozy boarding space, I treat every cat like family. You can count on me to provide not just care, but comfort, safety, and lots of love.

Rachel was excellent with our cat while we were out of town. It was nice to enjoy the trip without having to worry about him. Drop off and pickup was easy and the cat had a nice place to stay. Rachel communicated with us daily and provided pictures of the cat enjoying his space and getting plenty of attention.

She was perfect. I was happy that Peeve got to interact with other cats only under direct supervision. Made my travel plans so much easier!

Schedule

I'm available most of the day to care for my kitties and YOURS! :) Caring for animals is already a big part of my everyday life. As a proud cat mom to four, my daily routine includes feeding, cleaning, playtime, grooming, and giving each of my cats the individual attention they need. I’ve naturally built my home and schedule around making animals feel safe, calm, and loved. Because I work from home and have a flexible schedule, I’m able to dedicate focused time to pet care without distractions. Whether it’s administering medications, grooming a long-haired cat, or providing overnight care in a quiet, cozy room, I can fully commit to the needs of each pet I care for. Pet care isn’t just something I do—it’s part of who I am. From my background in healthcare and esthetics to my passion for rescue and feline behavior, I truly love creating a routine that supports the physical and emotional wellbeing of animals. Every day, I find joy in it.

Safety, trust & environment

I offer a spacious 10 ft x 7.5 ft private cat suite designed for comfort, quiet, and enrichment, PURRfect for stress-free stays, bonded pairs, or special-needs kitties who deserve a home-like experience. Creating a safe, stress-free environment is at the heart of how I care for every pet. Whether I’m welcoming a cat into my own home or caring for one in their familiar space, I take extra steps to ensure their comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing. In my home, I have a dedicated, quiet room for boarding, separate from my resident cats if needed, where visiting cats can settle in without feeling overwhelmed. It’s cozy, clean, and designed with cat-friendly furniture, enrichment toys, and soft bedding. I follow strict hygiene protocols and introduce any changes slowly, especially for nervous or first-time boarders. I also make sure the space is escape-proof and free of hazards, with lots of vertical space and hiding spots. In clients' homes, I maintain their pet’s regular routine as closely as possible to reduce stress. I take time to build trust with the cat through calm, gentle interactions, and I always communicate openly with owners through updates, photos, and notes about how their pet is doing. If a cat has special needs, like medication, dietary restrictions, or behavioral quirks, I follow instructions to the letter. Whether at my place or yours, pets in my care are always treated with patience, respect, and love, just like my own.

Pets

A typical day

Every pet in my care is treated like family, and I make sure their day is filled with comfort, enrichment, and plenty of affection. Whether I’m watching a cat in my home or visiting them in theirs, I tailor each day to match their personality and routine. Morning: We start with a calm, quiet morning, fresh food, clean water, and litter box care. I take time to check in on how they’re feeling, especially for shy or senior cats. If they’re playful, we enjoy wand toys or puzzle feeders to get them moving and thinking. Midday: After a cozy nap, it’s time for some one-on-one attention. This might mean brushing for long-haired cats, lap time for snuggly ones, or gentle socializing for those still warming up. I also do a quick health check to look for anything unusual. Afternoon & Evening: We wind down with more interactive play or enrichment: think tunnels, toys, and even relaxing music or cat TV. I keep everything low-stress and flexible, so each cat feels safe and loved. At night, it’s all about comfort: soft bedding, calm vibes, and one last cuddle or treat before lights out. Throughout the day, I send pet parents thoughtful updates and photos so they know their baby is happy, healthy, and in good hands.

To give your cat (or other pet) the best care possible, I always like to learn a few key things ahead of time: Personality & Temperament: Are they shy or social? Do they like to be held or prefer space? Any quirks I should know? Health Needs: Do they take medication? Have any allergies, medical conditions, or dietary restrictions? Feeding Routine: What do they eat, how much, and when? Litter Box Habits: Do they have a preferred type of litter or box style? Any history of accidents or special needs? Grooming Preferences: Are they used to brushing or bathing? Any areas they don’t like touched? Triggers or Fears: Loud noises, strangers, other animals, etc. anything that makes them nervous? Other Pets in the Home: Will I be caring for other animals too? How do they all get along? Emergency Contact & Vet Info: Just in case: your preferred vet and backup contact. Every cat is unique, and the more I know, the more I can make their stay (or visit) feel like home.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
