“Peter took care of our 5 yr old Husky Mix and 8 month old Labrador while we were out of town. This included house sitting. The pets got great care and play time and the house was well taken care of. Highly recommend! I hope he can pet sit for us in the future.”

“Hayden provided our two pups EXCEPTIONAL care while we were gone on a 5 day trip. Our senior dog requires medications multiple times a day, and Hayden was able to administer them all with no issue!! She kept us updated with photos throughout our whole trip, it gave us such peace of mind. I can’t recommend her enough!!! We are so grateful for her & know our pups love her just as much!”

“Jen was amazing with our dog Zoe Belle! She provided daily updates for our 5 day vacation and loved our girl as much as we do. Our house is cleaner than when we left! She vacuumed, washed the sheets from her guest bedroom, and all the towels. Will definitely use her again for any future dog/house sitting needs and will pass along her info to all of our friends and family.”

“Courtney is wonderful! My cat didn't miss me because Courtney took such good care of her. This meant a lot to me because it was one of the first times I left my cat in someone else's care. I would not hesitate to use Courtney again! Courtney is a caring, conscientious animal sitter. She clearly loves animals. She also left everything spotless! I highly recommend Courtney if you want an animal sitter you can count on to follow your instructions and is dependable, diligent and caring.”

“Sara is truly a great sitter. She took very good care of my senior dog. I told her and he showed her all of the issues that he has and she handled them with great care which put me at ease. I'll definitely be using her again.”

“Sara did a great job taking care of our toy poodles for a week! She was great about coming to meet them before we went out of town, and she texted me every day to tell me how they were doing. I will use her again!”

About: I have taken care of numerous dogs and cats. I have taken care of dogs puppy age through senior age. I have also taken care of a dog who has seizures and I administer medication to my own dog. Typically I work part-time but I’m totally flexible and willing to adjust my schedule as needed! I don’t mind coming multiple times a day or spending the night. I’m very gentle and always make sure the animal is feeling comfortable and safe. I love being active so going on walks or playing in the backyard is great! I also don’t mind just sitting on the couch to provide some company.
About: I have been taking care of my friends and families animals since I was a child. I currently have a 7 year old male Shiba Inu that I’ve raised from 9 weeks old. He’s very friendly, and potty trained. He gets tons of love all the time, along with our male 5 year old Staffordshire Pitbull Terrier named Skipper. I will be more than happy to take care of and play with your animals/babies. I keep the dogs on a close leash to me when walking. I would prefer a harness if they are not leash trained, to avoid tugging or pulling. I always keep a couple plastic bags handy for picking up poop when needed. I graduated in 2022 with a bachelors degree in Biochemistry from the University of North Florida. I am currently a full time veterinary technician at Avondale Animal Hospital and I am more than happy to help out. I keep my dogs on a daily schedule so I understand the need for routine. Currently just moved to the area and learning my way around, I’d be happy to fit you in. I prefer visits at the client’s home to ensure safety of the pet and to make sure they are not stressed from a new place.
“I highly recommend Ronda Lynne! She took amazing care of our two dogs, keeping in regular contact, sending lots of photos, and making sure they got lots of love while we were gone. It gave me such peace of mind knowing they were not only safe but truly happy. When I came home, I could tell they were relaxed and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and absolutely wonderful with pets, Ronda Lynne is the one. I’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Millie was great! Louie and Gus were well taken care of while we’re away for a week. Pups were in great spirits when we arrived back home. Communication was very good and pictures of pups were provided throughout the stay. I would definitely use Millie again.”

“LOVED LOVED LOVED Emily! She stayed at the house the entire time with our babies. Was wonderful with our elderly dog and her needs. We are already booking Emily for our next vacation and hope to keep her as our regular dog sitter!”
“Arianna is very reliable and communicative! She gave us frequent updates on our kitties and sent good photos. She also helped with information for an unexpected emergency vet visit (recurring illness with one cat) after we returned from our trip! She is friendly and helpful and a great cat sitter!”

“Although Kelli was not feeling well, she fulfilled her sitting duties for Koby. By all accounts, she didn’t miss a beat. Her dog and mine got along great. She updated us with pictures. I plan to use her again.”

About: I can't remember a time in my life I did not have my own pets. I have taken care of my own pets all of my life and am a lifelong animal caregiver. I have experience as a foster mom for an animal rescue as well and I enjoyed taking care of so many different babies and helping them find their forever homes. I have always had both cat and dog companions and have advocated and helped friends and family with their pets as well. I currently have a senior dog, a senior cat, who have both been with me for over 13 years, three cats who are two years old and a leopard gecko! I would love to meet you and help with your pet care needs! I'm currently available part-time, on Monday- Friday from 9:00 am- 1:30 pm. I would be happy to work around your schedule as much as possible! I have a fenced in yard and pets of my own. I understand each pet has their own personality and needs tailored to them. I will be an active listener and always treat and care for your pets according to your wishes!
“Autumn is great! She loved on my dog, took good care of her and sent me updates. She is communicative and caring. She asked about our dog's needs and made sure she was well taken care of!”

“Jessie was absolutely incredible while house sitting for us! She had great communication, followed our instructions, and took great care of our dogs! She really set the bar high for dog sitters, and we can’t wait to have her look after our dogs again!”

“I would highly recommend Riley. I used his services as a house sitter to take care of my Pekingese, who is very shy. She warmed up to Riley almost instantly, which is a testament to him. He left my house in the same condition as to when I left it: very clean. I greatly appreciate him taking care of my pet and my house. I would describe Riley as very friendly, honest and reliable. He's obviously a pet lover. What more can you ask for in someone to help you with your pet's needs?”

“Deby was absolutely wonderful! This was my first time using Rover, so it took a bit to get used to at first, but it was so wonderful. My partner and I usually ask our friends to watch our two kitties, but no one was available. I saw that Debt had a ton of repeat clients and great reviews and I see why! She sent videos of them every time she came over and put my mind at ease even though I desperately missed my boys. Highly recommend booking her if you want someone who is wonderful with communication and loves all animals she watches!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shannon
Courtney was as great as all of her reviews said she would be. She was extra conscientious about our senior diabetic dog, always watching his blood glucose and ensuring he was comfortable. She took great care of our home and left it sparkling clean, took in all of our mail and packages, and was communicative and responsive. There's nothing she could have done to improve!

Kelsey watched our dog Maggie (49ish pounds, anxious medium sized dog, with some puppy like behaviors), at our home for about 2.5 days, when our usual sitters were not available, and we are so glad we found her. Kelsey has a genuine desire to learn about your pet’s needs and behaviors, and she patiently heard all about Maggie’s history and health challenges. On her second interaction, she was able to get Maggie to calm down within minutes, which we found quite impressive. She went above and beyond to make Maggie eat her meals by making her little hand made meatballs of her food, when she didn’t eat eagerly. Communication was excellent. We came home to a calm and content dog. We would definitely recommend Kelsey’s services and reach out to her when traveling again.

Sarah Katherine was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our pups, cat, and home! One of our dogs had some stomach issues while we were away and Sarah Katherine went above and beyond looking after him and made sure he was okay. She was communicative and incredibly sweet. We were thankful to have to her stay with our pets!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Shannon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Shannon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Shannon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shannon. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
