“Highly recommend Jamie. She stepped in while I was recovering from knee surgery and walked Pippa every day. She is dependable, on time, friendly and communicates well. Pippa was always excited to see Jamie when she came.”

“Courtney was great with my furbaby. She was timely, professional, kind, dependable, and took good care of my baby on his walks. We look forward to working with her again soon. Great job!!!”

“I’m late leaving a review but this lady deserves getting a STELLAR review!! Please, please select her. Not only is she great with dogs, she comes prepared & is totally committed to the love and care for your dog. Best of all if she can’t make a walk she has her own back up!!! You don’t have to scramble to find one for a random day (which isn’t easy). If Hilda and Django were still living in my home, I would still be using her services.”

About: Hi! I’m Sara and have been taking care of animals since I was in high school. I have accumulated some awesome references through the years and would love to add you and your pet to the list! I had taken quite the hiatus from Rover while finishing up school and landing my first professional job, but would love to pick this back up again. I graduated from UAB and work in digital marketing. I work from home so I get to spend plenty of time with my dog mix Libby. We live in Bluff Park, so are surrounded by great walking trails. I have always had a special place in my heart for animals and love getting the chance to spend time with all different kinds. Libby loves having new friends come visit. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all. I work from home which allows me to spend all day with your pet. If I have to run out for an errand, chances are my husband Nicolas will be home given his flexible work schedule. We live in a very safe community with plenty of walking trails to take advantage of. I also have a 6 year old lab mix Libby that would love to keep your fur baby company.
“Gracie is a fantastic Rover! She is very pleasant to work with and even helped me out last minute for a quick drop in to feed my four legged furry friend. Doesn’t disappoint with her walks either. She goes the distance to get your dog some good exercise! Will use as long as she around!”

“Riley is a wonderful dog walker/sitter (and dog photographer)! I could tell through the many photos and when we got home that our dog was comfortable and happy throughout the day (:”

About: I know how stressful it can be to choose someone to care for your pets, and I’ve totally been there. I have two small dogs myself, and I hate leaving them behind. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets are safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’ve cared for animals my whole life, from cats, and dogs, to even an abandoned deer for two days. I’d love to be your best friend’s new best friend! Currently, I’m a stay at home dog mom. I take my boys to the Red Mountain or Vestavia Hills Dog Park almost everyday, and they couldn’t be happier! Whether your pet stays with me or I come to you, they’ll be cared for just like my own. In my home, they’ll enjoy our fully fenced, backyard, walks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles. In your home, I’ll stick to their routine so they feel happy, safe, and loved

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)
About: Not only have I been dog sitting for the last 15 years, but I also have a lot of other experience with pet care! I have worked in a pet store as well as in veterinary offices when I used to live back in Indiana so I have learned a lot about caring for animals. I attended veterinary nursing school too before I moved, but I didn’t get to finish before moving down here and am currently looking to re start schooling here in Alabama. While I there I gained even more knowledge on animal health and care. I was the kennel manager for the shelter pets that we had at the school, where I was in charge of administering oral and IV/IM pet medication. I have experience working with elderly pets with medical issues as my own fur baby who passed in 2025 suffered from CHF and she required a lot of extra care towards the end. I love all types of animals and have experience caring for not only just dogs and cats. Over the years I have owned reptiles, turtles, and currently own 2 rabbits as well as 2 cats and 1 dog! If you book with me I will treat your pet as though they were my own so you can rest easy knowing they are loved and taken care of! I only work part time, so I have a very flexible schedule. I will have plenty of time to spend time with your pet! I am not typically away from home for very long, so I will be able to regularly come to check on your pet. I have a large fenced in yard and a dog door that my two dogs go in and out of freely. I will walk or run with your dog daily. There is usually always someone in my house at home at all times, who all love to interact with dogs. I have one other dogs. She is typically nice with other dogs but can be very skittish, so they would need to be introduced prior to being watched. The safety and comfort of all of the dogs including my own are my priority, so it needs to be a good fit. My dog does love to play a lot so they usually enjoy having another furry friend to play with. My 2 cats and 2 rabbits also live in the home, but the layout of the house allows them to stay in the upstairs portion of the house and it is blocked off to allow them to be separated. They all get along, but I feel more comfortable to allow them to have their own spaces.

I have worked for pet stores and handled tons of different pets with personalities all different than the last. I have a puppy of my own whom I currently training, sit, potty training, lay, and wait. She’s currently understanding sit and stay. Great progress! Dealing with animals is healing and I try to fill my weekly schedule with caring for pets. Including after hours for my current job and to also help individuals who need assistance. I always take my time to deal with animals in their own environment. About: I had 3 cocker spaniels as a kid, separately, loved them, they loved me. Did everything together. Would love more time with dogs. Cats, too I work 5 evenings a week from 5pm-10, (shorter that overnight sleep), off Monday and Thursday. It has worked out great for both sides. Just a mile from home. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
