“Sarah was really terrific with our pup and was very communicative! We tend to get nervous with our pup as he can get overstimulated in new environments, but he handled it great and we know Sarah had a lot to do with that and making him feel comfortable. We'd definitely recommend Sarah!”

“Kai did an excellent job communicating and sharing updates. It was so wonderful and relieving to know that Sushi was having a good time. I will 100% ask Kai again when I need a sitter for my pup!”

“Rose was an excellent sitter for Quoia! Playing in the backyard & exploring the hood during her stay. Q was super excited to arrive the next morning & we were both surprised by a very, very thoughtful touch day 2 when Rose laid out little rugs for Q having noticed she can be hesitant on wood floors - so sweet! Would gladly pick Rose again when we need another sitter. Thx! - Tori & Matt”

“Hang took wonderful care of my dog and kept me updated throughout the day. She had a fun time playing with Hang’s dogs and her family and looked very happy and relaxed. Will definitely book again!”

“I think my Freya (1.5 year old Malamute) loved being part of Joanna’s family for a few days! My friend who was housesitting with Freya had long shifts at work, and I was worried she would get bored and anxious being left at home each day. I am very happy to have found Joanna and grateful she was able to fit around the different daily schedules we had. Before booking we had a meet and greet with Freya and Joanna’s Maui and they played well together, both young female dogs who like to play a little rough. I was hoping they would be good company in down time too (time with other dogs for her is normally all play) which it seems they did and I was happy to see photos of them laying together with their chew toys. I received lots of photos of Freya looking happy in the house and on walks, and updates on how she was doing and I couldn’t ask for more :)”

“My pup had some hesitations with going to daycare. William did a great job connecting with her. Now, she goes without any resistance. At the end of the day she’s relaxed and happy. Thank you William for your great service!!”

About: I have owned and loved both cats and dogs my entire life, never being without a fur baby (or three!) in my life. I am a mature, responsible adult of over 50 years who enjoys spending time with animals and helping people feel safe and comfortable leaving their pets at home. You deserve to have your mind on whatever takes you away, I am here to make sure you can. I am a freelancer in charge of her destiny! I can accommodate any pet care need you have, often with same-day notice, and can do overnights at your home or mine. When caring for pets in your home, I will follow the guidelines set by you to a tee. In my home, while I don't have a fenced yard, I live very close to Lake WA BLVD where my dog and I walk daily, and a fenced off-leash park that features a section for small and more timid dogs in addition to the larger open space for the big guys and the unafraid.
About: I've had and cared for dogs all my life and currently am a pet mom to my own ball of love, Noodles for the past five years. Side hobby - I work full time so would be happy to help take care of your fur baby while working from home and in my free time on nights and weekends. I have a dog-friendly home and take daily walks and trips to the local park. I am very attentive and can adapt care style to the dog's needs.
About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.

About: **Note: We request a 3-night minimum stay for first-time guests. This helps us really get to know you dog, minimize disruptions to our household (transitions are the toughest part of a stay for both pups and people), and supports our financial stability. Thank you!** Hello! I've been caring for dogs personally and professionally for 30 years. Professional Experience: - I’ve had the privilege of caring for dogs through Rover and Trusted House Sitters for 5 years. - I worked at a boarding facility called Ruffin' It Resort in Madison, WI for three months following college and was responsible for walking, feeding, bathing, exercising, and cleaning up after dozens of dogs. I also got to work the overnight shift which was surprisingly fun! Personal & Volunteer Experience I’ve cared for dogs since I was eight years old - feeding, walking, grooming, and cleaning up the yard. As an adult, I've volunteered with two animal shelters, one in Seattle, and one in Paintsville, KY to foster dogs of all breeds and sizes. Outside of Rover, I’ve also done short- and long-term dog sitting for friends and family. The two long term experiences were for a Blue Heeler puppy in Alaska (her mom was a salmon fisherwoman who needed to be out on the boat all summer), and two young Pitbull pups in Puerto Rico (their mom was a ranger at El Yunque National Forest and needed to travel back state side for a month). I am currently on a sabbatical from work, so I am home 100% of the time and always available for pets, play, and potty breaks. We don't have kids and our hobbies are home-based (lots of gardening & cooking), so we are most often at home and excited to romp, walk, hike, or snuggle with your pup. Depending on your preference, we can either just play and exercise them in the yard, or take walks in the neighborhood. Or, if you're comfortable with it, we regularly use SniffSpot to visit a 2.5 acre private dog park (no other dogs) and would be happy to take your dog for an outing. The cost for a private dog park visit is $16 (Rover won't let me include the link, but if you go to the Sniff Spot website and search "Preeti's 2.5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Renton" you can check out the spot we visit.) *We also live 2 blocks from a public dog park, but I am very aware that public dog parks are NOT good settings for many dogs. I don't take guest dogs to the public dog park unless their parent specifically requests it and we do a trial trip together first. Safety and comfort are our top concerns. It can be stressful and scary (for both dogs and their humans) to be in a new place. Especially if your dog is a sensitive soul and/or likes to go adventuring. That's why we are hyper vigilant with things like securely closing gates and making sure leashes are attached to the sturdy ring and not that flimsy ring that affixes the tag to the larger ring. The way our house and yard are set up, it makes it very easy for your dog(s) to have a large comfortable space to relax in. In summer, they can sun themselves on the back deck or retreat inside to enjoy the AC. In winter, we have multiple gas stoves to curl up in front of. A note on play styles & energy levels: From experience, we've learned that the best fit for our space and family are dogs who have moderate or lower energy levels. While we love active pups, we are a better fit for dogs who are happy chilling out, roaming the yard, and going for walks or hikes. For the safety of our dogs and respect for our neighbors, we can't accept dogs who bark frequently or have a very physical "paws on" style of play. Our hounds are great at co-existing with many different types of dogs: they will gladly snuggle with your dog, go for walks with them, and maybe do a tug-o-war with a toy, but they do not like to be body slammed, jumped on, or harassed to play when they are relaxing.
“Nikki is awesome- warm, welcoming, accommodating and communicative. I have a very nervous dog and Nikki made sure to give her lots of cuddles and reassurance. I strongly recommend Nikki.”

“Alora was obviously comfortable, is definitely tuckered despite the rain, and we especially appreciate Jon & Alex accommodating Alora's protests of not joining me at work :) great daycare hosts!”

Jay & Gabrielle are so sweet! Beemo had his first sleepover with them on the first day we met, and it went super well! It’s not everyday I find sitters I could trust with boarding for the first day. Beemo came back happy and very tired, which lets me know he had a great time! They updated me with the cutest pictures at the park and on walks, and let me know how the night went. I will definitely be booking with them again!

We're thrilled with Taryn's pet-sitting services for Leia! Leia was clearly well-cared for and came home happy, showing just how much Taryn connected with her. We especially valued how responsive and accommodating Taryn was to all our specific needs. Without a doubt, we'll be recommending Taryn for pet care to all our friends and family.
