About: Hello! I have been dog and cat sitting for at least 20 years and have several active clients in Seattle currently. I have previously worked for a dog walking and sitting business in Maryland. I have cared for puppies from 6 months through to senior, special needs pups. While no one enjoys it, I am comfortable giving pills, injections, and other medications to both cats and dogs. In my dog walking business I have walked up to four pups at the same time. I love to go on long walks, even in the rain and wind, and can throw a ball for hours! I will take care of your home and your pup with the utmost respect and love. I am a home owner with two kitties and a toddler. We are working on getting them all comfortable with dogs but for the time being we can only subject them to guests for 4 days in a row max (or they may never forgive us). While I haven't found the perfect pup for my life yet, I am very excited to be able to share my house with dogs of all ages for short stints while I'm searching. About: Most people call me Josh. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I've lived with them for most of my life. I am recently dog-free and I miss having dog energy in my house. I've raised two dogs through basic obedience to adulthood, one with a class, and one largely on my own. I am personally a big believer in the methods described in The Art of Raising a Puppy, because I have had excellent results with their techniques, but will of course prioritize whatever approach is preferred by owners. I am happy to help reinforce any basic obedience your dog may be working on, as well as senior dogs. I am comfortable with a wide range of dog breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Highly reactive dogs are not my favorite, but "highly reactive" can be subjective, so I will consider such dogs on a case by case basis. I am happy to work with dogs of varying activity levels, but extremely high-activity dogs will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. I am currently working from home and am available for dropoff in-home daycare most weekdays and dog boarding (including weekends). My schedule for my dog was three walks a day (morning, afternoon/dinnertime, bedtime) so that is what I'm used to, but I am happy to work with clients to discuss their routine and work with them to agree on an experience that fits their and their dog's needs. I currently have no other animals in my home, so your dog will get my full attention as needed. I don't have a fenced yard, but I am in a residential neighborhood with a good-sized park a block away. I am reasonably close to Seward Park and the Genesee dog park as well.

I personally have had dogs and cats throughout my life. I currently have a mini goldendoodle named Storm (she truly is such a storm!) and two cats named Olive and Basil. I have watched and cared for dogs of varying breeds and sizes from as small as a chihuahua to as big as a great dane. I am very active and would love to take your furry friends outdoors for a walk and/or play both indoor or outdoors depending on your preferences. I follow instructions well, and any special physical or dietary restrictions your pet(s) may have are not an issue for me. Just keep me informed and I will do my absolute best to provide the care your pet family needs. I currently have full availability. I just recently moved to Washington State and am in the process of searching and applying for employment. As I mentioned before, I am a clinical social worker. I just recently passed my clinical exam and am in a waiting period for the department of health to make my license fully active. I would love to fill my time with caring for animals! I am super flexible on ways to care for your pets! My dog Storm loves to play both inside with her toys and outside with walks/runs and going to the dog park to socialize. For my cats, they love their scratch matts. Basil loves playing with a laser and Olive loves playing with any type of string! I always pickup after Storm goes to the bathroom outside and scoop the litterbox 1-2x daily here at home. I am also familiar with giving dogs and cats prescribed medications as well ranging from oral medications, to ear cleaning and ear drops, and topical medications. About: I have been caring for animals since I was young, starting with my childhood dog and now my own little kitty. I have continued to care for cats and dogs over the years for family, friends, and Rover clients, winning over even the shyest of pets. I will treat your pet like family! I have experience with senior cats and dogs, as well as reactive dogs. I am comfortable administering oral medication. I plan to spend as much time as I possibly can with your beloved fur baby. I work part time per diem currently so I may be out of the house for a few hours occasionally, but this would be discussed prior to any stay. I will spend the majority of the time during with your pet. I will follow all safety and care instructions a client may have for their home. I can easily adjust to any requirements a pet owner may have to ensure the safety of their beloved pet and their home.
