About: I am now retired and have total availability. For walks or drop ins I need to keep my service area within 5-7 miles. For longer stays I am willing to expand my area upon request. I began my pet care as a child, taking home every stray dog I saw. Nursing sheep, stray cats, bunnies, you name it. I was then a vet tech, rescue foster, and sitter. As my life has changed my love for, and enjoyment of caring for pets has not. I bond well with animals, and have the experience to know when firmness is required. I will always care for your animal as i would my own. ( spoiled ) I have a good availability and experience with all ages of pets. Including training to elderly animals who need special care. I am comfortable administering meds, and dealing with unique or special circumstances. Finally, I am reliable. You can rest assured that your baby will be well cared for. when I house sit I will keep your place clean daily. If you desire addition plant care or whatever, just ask. I am retired. This gives me great availability to care for your pet. I can adjust my schedule to fit your needs. At times I prefer overnights at your place so as to not disturb my husband. I have a fenced yard. At your home or mine we get plenty of potty breaks, walks, and play. I only leave the house to go to the store or appts.

They hate being alone and I don't think they had a moment unattended in the 5 days they spent with Lindsey. Her dog Lola sealed the deal for the pugs as they love other dogs and feel like it's a party if other furry beings are around. On the second morning we were to take the dogs to Lindsey they didn't get off the couch. As soon as we asked if they wanted to see Lola, they were immediately at the door- such a good sign! Every night we picked up happy, tired doggies. We were able to visit New Orleans without worrying about our babies. A Godsend! Thank you so much Lindsey. We so appreciate you!”

I love dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, though I have a particular appreciation for larger breeds such as Pit Bulls, Dobermans, and Rottweilers. Over the years, I've spent countless hours learning about canine behavior, training, and communication to better understand their needs and how they experience the world. My beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Bella, was my companion for 13 wonderful years. During the last five years of her life, she lived with diabetes, requiring twice-daily insulin injections, regular veterinary care, and cataract surgery. Caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of providing consistent, compassionate care—especially for dogs with special medical needs. I understand that pets are family. Whether your dog needs a walk, playtime, companionship, or extra care and attention, I'll treat them with the same love, respect, and responsibility that I gave my own. I currently work from home while building my real estate investment business, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be attentive to the needs of the pets in my care. My day typically starts between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. with meditation and exercise, followed by work from my home office. Because I set my own schedule, I can easily accommodate walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, medication needs, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. If your dog is boarding with me, I enjoy incorporating outdoor walks into my daily routine and can provide regular exercise, enrichment, and one-on-one attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I care for pets according to their owner's preferred schedule and routine whenever possible. I understand that consistency helps pets feel safe, comfortable, and secure, whether they're in my home or their own. I take the time to learn each pet's feeding schedule, exercise needs, medication requirements, favorite activities, and any special instructions. My goal is to provide attentive, loving care while maintaining the routines and boundaries that are important to both the pet and their family.

“It can be hard to find sitters willing to help with challenging dogs, and I have a very sweet pup who, unfortunately, has some separation anxiety that means she can’t be left home alone at this point. Julia agreed to watch her for some daycare while my husband and I attended a family birthday party, and she also was great about setting up a Meet and Greet about a week beforehand so that Sable could be introduced to Julia and her own pups. Julia sent pictures and updates while we were away, and I appreciated her honesty when I asked how Sable did. It seems as though Sable was only mildly embarrassing and didn’t put Julia through too much hassle, so I’m very grateful to have someone trustworthy and kind to leave my pup with! About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.

“To say we were satisfied with the care Alyssa gave our little Max would be an understatement. We were camping in New Orleans and had events happening that would take us away from our motorhome for over 9 hours for a few days and did not think it wise to leave our small dog alone for so long so we needed to think of something. So for the first time we turned to the ROVER app. As this would be the first time we left our boy with a stranger we were very concerned but We had a meet and greet ahead of the actual dog sitting and it went so well …. we felt at ease right away with Alyssa and her own dog. Our Max and Alyssa’s Oliver hit it off right away … she is a wonderful person full of love, caring and is extremely pleasant. The second day we went to drop Max off he actually pulled me to her door and sat there waiting for her to open the door and when she did open the door he ran in as if he was home already. This experience was so wonderful. We are certain a big part of that has to do with how nice a person Alyssa is. Sending pictures throughout the days was an added bonus for us! We would highly recommend her to anyone who needs dog sitting services!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve always been my favorite kind of company. I’m patient and keep things calm and low-key. I only watch one dog at a time, so you can rest assured that I will treat your dog as if they were my own. Since I work remotely, your dog won’t be left alone much and will get attention throughout the day. I make sure to follow whatever routine helps your dog feel most comfortable. Happy to send you photos and updates throughout the day as well. I’m flexible with pickup and drop off times. I will be with your pup all day, and they’ll get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine. If they’re a high energy dog, they’ll get long walks. If they’re a senior or low energy, I’ll take them on shorter walks or just let them sniff in the yard.

About: I grew up raising dogs and cats in my household. Since 2010 I've adopted pets on my own, cats and a dog. I currently have one cat I rescued as a kitten three years ago and a dog who loves to play that I rescued 2 years ago from a shelter. Im a teacher who loves spending time with pets and I enjoy the extra excitement that comes from watching little ones for those who are out of town. I love showering pets with affection and all the care they need to be joyous and safe. I love walks and play time with all my animals. Getting to help make a pet feel loved would be a perfect use of my time.
