About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and have spent the past 12 years raising and caring for dogs of my own. I currently have two dogs: Wrigley, an 8-year-old Aussie, and Nova, a 6-year-old rescue Aussie/Husky mix who is blind and requires medications multiple times a day. Caring for Nova has given me hands-on experience with special-needs dogs, medication schedules, mobility limitations, and the patience and attention they require. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, energy levels, and needs, and I treat every dog like an individual. Whether your pup needs an energetic walk, some extra attention, a consistent routine, or medication, I’m happy to provide dependable, loving care. I’m currently a surgery resident taking a research year (remotely) which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide attentive care. Because I work from home and intentionally keep my boarding capacity small, I'm able to provide plenty of companionship, supervision, exercise, and individual attention throughout the day. To help you feel connected while you're away, I provide regular photo and video updates throughout your dog's stay. Every boarding also concludes with a personalized summary of their meals, walks, potty habits, behavior, and overall experience, so you know exactly how their stay went. I share my home with Tully, my friendly, well-socialized Golden Retriever. Because this is his home too, I prioritize good matches and a calm, comfortable environment for both resident and visiting dogs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a university instructor with a flexible schedule, I have the flexibility to provide frequent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. About: I have welcomed dogs into my family for the past 25 years living in New Orleans, and have loved caring for them as they have certainly cared for me too! I work from home most days of the week and am rarely gone for more than a few hours for in-person meetings. I provide lots of walks along the greenway and time in my fenced yard too. I have toys for stimulation such as puzzles and can play hide and seek with toys, treats, and me! I am happy to continue implementing your schedule and use your key words and phrases to maintain training while your pup is with me. I also enjoy taking my dog Conor to City Bark where he plays with other dogs and gets a nice bath. I am happy to bring your dog there too if they are able to go. I work from home and occasionally take meetings out of my house. Those usually are not more than a few hours. Once a week I go into my office from 8-4 but come home at lunch to walk my dog Conor. I have three boys that are in school who live with me every other week. I do a school drop off and pick up every other week for one of them around 7:15 am and again around 3:00 pm. I keep my dog on a predictable schedule of feeding and walks and provide toys for stimulation. I always keep fresh water available both inside and outside so that they are not dehydrated. I am divorced and have my sons every other week. They are in middle and high school and are confident and comfortable around dogs. However, your dog will be cared for by me. Although they will likely want to play with your dog too!

“To say we were satisfied with the care Alyssa gave our little Max would be an understatement. We were camping in New Orleans and had events happening that would take us away from our motorhome for over 9 hours for a few days and did not think it wise to leave our small dog alone for so long so we needed to think of something. So for the first time we turned to the ROVER app. As this would be the first time we left our boy with a stranger we were very concerned but We had a meet and greet ahead of the actual dog sitting and it went so well …. we felt at ease right away with Alyssa and her own dog. Our Max and Alyssa’s Oliver hit it off right away … she is a wonderful person full of love, caring and is extremely pleasant. The second day we went to drop Max off he actually pulled me to her door and sat there waiting for her to open the door and when she did open the door he ran in as if he was home already. This experience was so wonderful. We are certain a big part of that has to do with how nice a person Alyssa is. Sending pictures throughout the days was an added bonus for us! We would highly recommend her to anyone who needs dog sitting services!”

Julia agreed to watch her for some daycare while my husband and I attended a family birthday party, and she also was great about setting up a Meet and Greet about a week beforehand so that Sable could be introduced to Julia and her own pups. About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.

About: I am now retired and have total availability. For walks or drop ins I need to keep my service area within 5-7 miles. For longer stays I am willing to expand my area upon request. I began my pet care as a child, taking home every stray dog I saw. Nursing sheep, stray cats, bunnies, you name it. I was then a vet tech, rescue foster, and sitter. As my life has changed my love for, and enjoyment of caring for pets has not. I bond well with animals, and have the experience to know when firmness is required. I will always care for your animal as i would my own. ( spoiled ) I have a good availability and experience with all ages of pets. Including training to elderly animals who need special care. I am comfortable administering meds, and dealing with unique or special circumstances. Finally, I am reliable. You can rest assured that your baby will be well cared for. when I house sit I will keep your place clean daily. If you desire addition plant care or whatever, just ask. I am retired. This gives me great availability to care for your pet. I can adjust my schedule to fit your needs. At times I prefer overnights at your place so as to not disturb my husband. I have a fenced yard. At your home or mine we get plenty of potty breaks, walks, and play. I only leave the house to go to the store or appts.

About: I grew up in an animal loving home and have had them as pets since birth. Since I can remember, I have been the one friends and family have called on to care for pets, young and old, healthy and injured. I have fostered and owned dogs with dog aggression issues and have a special place in my heart for these often misunderstood souls. I am comfortable walking with them and have the physicality to maintain control and safety. As an avid walker, one of the best joys in life is walking side by side with a canine companion. I believe in taking care of animals like children, with love warmth, attention, cuddles, positive reinforcement and boundaries. I have had the pleasure to raise 3 dogs from puppyhood until their elder life cycle and am very comfortable with aging doggos and those with special needs. I also work part time in a grooming shop, so I can get your baby squeaky clean and beautiful for you. I am currently working part-time in a grooming shop a couple days a week and I work from remotely from home part-time. Saying that, my schedule is very open to spend time with animals. I live within walking distance of City Park and walk almost daily. I have open yard that is not fenced in but I have temporary fencing that I can use for dogs who require more outside time than lengthy walks. I have several crates that I can setup for dogs that need them or if you don't want to transport your own. I follow the owners lead if dogs are allowed on furniture, but if so, they are welcome to cuddle on the couch. I prefer that dogs sleep in their own bed, one of my loaner beds or a crate. I will honor the owners feeding schedule as to make the transition easy for everyone. I do have 2 cats in the home who have grown up around dogs their whole life and are generally ambivalent to them. I send daily photo updates and generally treat your baby as my own while in my care.
