“Katherine and Ethan were extremely responsive, kind, and flexible when we left our Siberian Husky, Charlie, with them for doggie daycare. Their dogs, Gus and Brady, wore Charlie out, and Charlie is psyched to spend more time with all of them.”

“Michael took great care of our puppy Bruno who had his very first experience with a dogsitter. We couldn’t have found a better person! We were staying in NOLA for a few days and wanted to find someone we could trust to take care of Bruno while visiting the city. Thanks Michael for being so caring with Bruno!”

“Ashley was a true professional and made sure my dog had a well balanced day of rest, play and walking ! I am definitely planning to request more dog sitting from her!”

“Evlin took excellent care of our Peach during four days of Jazz Fest. Also excellent communication and she was flexible about drop off time at the end of the day when we were returning from the festival. We highly recommend her.”

“Liz was a SUPER sitter for our girls! She had a few other dogs who she was also watching, which made me feel very comfortable - because that indicated others felt she was ALSO a great sitter! We will be re-booking her for tomorrow (Thanksgiving) - and will definitely keep her on our sitter list for when we travel to New Orleans.”

“Hazel returned to Roxanne's for a date and she was so excited when she got out of the car I thought she might knock the front door down! She came back to us well played and very happy.”

“Emily was SO AMAZING with my two pups. I was visiting from out of town for work and wanted my pups to have somewhere to play on my longest/busiest day so I booked a daycare with her. She was so quick and responsive with communicating. She sent lots of updates, pictures and videos. My dogs were so tired and happy when I picked them up. I highly recommend Emily! I will definitely rebook when I come back to town. Thank you so much Emily! 🫶🏻”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve always been my favorite kind of company. I’m patient and keep things calm and low-key. I only watch one dog at a time, so you can rest assured that I will treat your dog as if they were my own. Since I work remotely, your dog won’t be left alone much and will get attention throughout the day. I make sure to follow whatever routine helps your dog feel most comfortable. Happy to send you photos and updates throughout the day as well. I’m flexible with pickup and drop off times. I will be with your pup all day, and they’ll get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine. If they’re a high energy dog, they’ll get long walks. If they’re a senior or low energy, I’ll take them on shorter walks or just let them sniff in the yard.
About: I’ve spent years helping friends and family by watching their pets when they travel. I love getting to know each animal’s personality and making sure they stay happy and comfortable in their routine while their owners are away. From walks and playtime to cuddles and companionship, I truly enjoy caring for animals I currently work from home so I have flexibility on caring for your fur babies! Whether it’s taking them for a walk or babysitting them at my house, I will make sure your animal is well taken care of! I have a fenced backyard and a dog & cat at home to play with your fur baby! I am also available to go to your house and take care of your animals there.
“It can be hard to find sitters willing to help with challenging dogs, and I have a very sweet pup who, unfortunately, has some separation anxiety that means she can’t be left home alone at this point. Julia agreed to watch her for some daycare while my husband and I attended a family birthday party, and she also was great about setting up a Meet and Greet about a week beforehand so that Sable could be introduced to Julia and her own pups. Julia sent pictures and updates while we were away, and I appreciated her honesty when I asked how Sable did. It seems as though Sable was only mildly embarrassing and didn’t put Julia through too much hassle, so I’m very grateful to have someone trustworthy and kind to leave my pup with! Thank you so much!”

About: I grew up in an animal loving home and have had them as pets since birth. Since I can remember, I have been the one friends and family have called on to care for pets, young and old, healthy and injured. I have fostered and owned dogs with dog aggression issues and have a special place in my heart for these often misunderstood souls. I am comfortable walking with them and have the physicality to maintain control and safety. As an avid walker, one of the best joys in life is walking side by side with a canine companion. I believe in taking care of animals like children, with love warmth, attention, cuddles, positive reinforcement and boundaries. I have had the pleasure to raise 3 dogs from puppyhood until their elder life cycle and am very comfortable with aging doggos and those with special needs. I also work part time in a grooming shop, so I can get your baby squeaky clean and beautiful for you. I am currently working part-time in a grooming shop a couple days a week and I work from remotely from home part-time. Saying that, my schedule is very open to spend time with animals. I live within walking distance of City Park and walk almost daily. I have open yard that is not fenced in but I have temporary fencing that I can use for dogs who require more outside time than lengthy walks. I have several crates that I can setup for dogs that need them or if you don't want to transport your own. I follow the owners lead if dogs are allowed on furniture, but if so, they are welcome to cuddle on the couch. I prefer that dogs sleep in their own bed, one of my loaner beds or a crate. I will honor the owners feeding schedule as to make the transition easy for everyone. I do have 2 cats in the home who have grown up around dogs their whole life and are generally ambivalent to them. I send daily photo updates and generally treat your baby as my own while in my care.
“This is my dog’s 3rd visit with Etta. She is the best. She goes above and beyond. I broke one of the handles off my dog’s bag and she sewed it on without me even asking or knowing she could sew. She even reinforced the other strap so that wouldn’t break off. Thank you!!!”

About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.
“Oshie was able to take care of my Abby last minute and she was so pleasant. She took great care of my girl and if I’m ever in the area again, I will be reaching out!”

“Alyssa is amazing! HIGHLY recommend. She took in my doggie for day care services somewhat last minute and made my rescue/anxious dog feel so comfortable and loved. She was super communicative throughout the day and always made me know my dog was being take of.”

About: I grew up raising dogs and cats in my household. Since 2010 I've adopted pets on my own, cats and a dog. I currently have one cat I rescued as a kitten three years ago and a dog who loves to play that I rescued 2 years ago from a shelter. Im a teacher who loves spending time with pets and I enjoy the extra excitement that comes from watching little ones for those who are out of town. I love showering pets with affection and all the care they need to be joyous and safe. I love walks and play time with all my animals. Getting to help make a pet feel loved would be a perfect use of my time.
About: We are a small family with a super friendly lab-hound mix named Charlie. Charlie loves to play with other dogs and is generous with his space and toys. Our six-year-old daughter loves meeting new animals, too. Our home is fenced all around so the dogs have a circle run as well as the backyard and front porch to play and relax. We travel and have used Rover for our dog and we’re happy to be on the other side hosting and caring for your pet. I have volunteer experience with multiple animal shelters and experience caring for both healthy pets and animals with special needs. The other side of our double shotgun is currently unoccupied so we have additional space to separate dogs if need be.
BW Cooper dog parents share their Rover experiences
Amanda was fantastic! She took care of our dog, Leo, on short notice while we were visiting New Orleans so we could enjoy some dinner reservations worry-free. She was incredibly accommodating and welcomed Leo into her home like one of her own. He clearly felt comfortable and happy there—especially since she even had a stuffed Lamb Chop toy waiting for him! We’re so grateful for her flexibility and the care she showed. Highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a kind, reliable sitter!
