Pet care experience
Floofs love me!
Pawsh Boarding & Daycare LLC aka Pawsh Floofs I'm known as Rachelle, but feel free to call me Etta (yes, I was named for Etta James! 😊). I've cared for my own pets and my neighbors' pets for numerous years. In grade school, I had a little pet sitting and babysitting business to earn pocket money. I currently have Ms Marylin, an 8-yr-old Akbash, Monreaux, a 2-yr-old lynx point former feral kitten (she has her own space in my home, so she's unbothered by visiting dogs), and I just took custody of a friend's elder 16-yr-old chihuahua mix, Pops, since she moved to Guatemala. Due to this, but also dependent on the situation, and my own sanity's sake, it's rare that I care for more than five/six dogs at a time (this includes my own girls and elder gent). I appreciate Senior dogs. Both of my previous babies lived to 14.5 and 16.5, respectively. Your dog will become a part of my family. I do watch dogs from different families at the same time. If you're uncomfortable with this, and/or your pet may be reactive to other dogs, there are numerous sitters who can accommodate you. ** If you're new to Rover, please use my promo code for a $20 discount at your first booking - ERACHD31066 ** I'm located on the Westbank, in Algiers Point. For those unfamiliar with New Orleans, you'll cross the Westbank/CCC bridge (Mississippi River bridge) and take exit 9B to LA-428 W to get to my home.

Ratings and reviews
Etta has watched Kiwi twice now and each time has been a wonderful and seamless experience. Kiwi gets to socialize with other dogs while staying in a comfortable environment. I know she gets plenty of love and attention, and even makes art for me during her stay (I now have to pieces proudly displayed in my home)! Etta is great with updates and overall communication, making being away from Kiwi as easy as possible. I highly recommend her for looking after your fur baby.

Not only is she a great friend for my cat, but one for me too. I wish I went out of town more often so baby could stay with her friend

I was skeptical about leaving Sif with anyone. She’s a puppy and has only been around myself, my husband or family. Ms. Etta made me feel comfortable enough to “loosen the leash” and after meeting her I felt that Sif would be ok. Long story short, she absolutely was! Ms. Etta sent a few pictures and a lot of messages, which I was happy for. She also even did some artwork with Sid and now I have a wonderful little painting from her. Ms. Etta is really clever with activities and she’s also compassionate. She does not allow the dogs to mix and mingle if they seem skiddish, which Sif generally is. I really do appreciate Ms. Etta for keeping our girl and will most certainly be booking her again.

Etta is the best! My girl always loves staying with her. Couldn’t recommend more!

Etta is an exceptional person with pets . Zoe, our previous pup, had the privilege of spending many occasions with Etta. Currently, we have Coco, and Coco spent the last 21 days with Etta. Coco is deeply fond of her. The photographs and information provided during Coco and Zoe’s stay are invaluable. Etta consistently shared daily pictures and updates about Coco. I have been thoroughly at ease entrusting Coco to Etta’s care.💕

Ms Etta is incredible! Xena, my calico baby is kind, feisty, and defensive all in one. I had to drop her off last minute for friends in town and the reply to take her in was prompt and professional. Ms. Etta was very kind all throughout the stay, sent constant updates, and made me feel at peace. Xena was very defensive and a little fearful, this being her first time away from me and away from her home, she gave Ms. Etta a hard time (and a bite) but she handled it like a pro. Star sitter is an understatement. Rockstar human is more like it.

Schedule
I am semi-retired and I have a flexible schedule. This allows me the time to care for your dogs and cats and give them the undivided attention they deserve. If I need to run errands, your pet will be placed in a crate/kennel for their safety and security. *Update - Daycare hours end at 9pm and are limited to 1-10 hours.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My front and rear yard are fenced, and I also own small, med, large and extra-large kennels should your floof need time away from my girls and elder gent. In my home, floofs are allowed on my furniture (vacuums and lint rollers were invented for a reason, lol). However, if they're not allowed on your furniture at home, please let me know so they don't learn naughty habits while they're with me. 😉 The only thing you'll need to provide to me is their food, medication, leash, harness, and possibly something that smells like home for them. I have a plethora of feeding bowls, potty pads (if needed), belly bands (if needed), and diapers (if needed). I also have various sized dog beds. *During Hurricane season, if your floof is in my home while you're away, and it's best to leave the city of New Orleans, I'll require your permission to transport them with me to Winona, Mississippi. My brother has property and is prepared to host myself and however many pets I'm caring for, for the duration.

A typical day
Walking my neighborhood in Algiers Point on the Westbank is the absolute best. There's numerous smells throughout the community (kiddos, cats, restaurants). One of the best is walking along the levee, which is only a ten minute walk from my home. Each day (weather permitting), after breakfast and their morning constitutional, we have Puppy Hour on my front porch. This consists of play and/or lounging time, zoomies time and everyone gets their faces washed. 😁 On occasion, we may go on a field trip, but you'll know about this beforehand. We'll engage in arts and crafts, too!
