“This was our first time using Rover, and Hannah went above and beyond. Our foster dog, Jet, gets very nervous when strangers enter our home, but Hannah was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. She even took the initiative to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand, meeting us outside our building to get to know Jet, understand his behavior, and familiarize herself with our neighborhood and building access. We felt completely at ease leaving Jet in her care, and she’ll be our first choice moving forward.”

“Kelly is amazing! So many thank yous for taking care of my doggo! You’ve been a huge help in keeping him happy and healthy. You’ve pivoted from dog walking to helping shuttle my little furry dude home from doggy day camp. Due to my work schedule at the hospital not allowing me to pick him up, you have become such a blessing. Thank you thank you thank you and I cannot recommend you enough!”

“Always prompt and Moxy is always so happy when they get back. I can tell they had a good time. Thank you so much for being available on short notice.”

“Amanda is wonderful with my two dogs. She is super conscientious and creatively manages their differing needs; one is small and elderly and one is large, young, and dog reactive. I so appreciate Amanda!”

“Loren was the best! It’s nice to know you can count on someone, and I can count on Loren! You can tell she loves animals also. Very responsive, followed all directions, went above and beyond. I will use her again!!”

About: I’ve had dog, cats, reptiles, and fish pretty much all my life. I love meeting, playing, and taking care of animals. I live to see them happy and comfortable. I tend to get along with animals very well! I have multiple animals that I help take care of daily. They are like my siblings and I love them dearly. I am my family’s pet sitter and would like to expand. I much rather keep the animal(s) in their own home to be the most comfortable. I like to build trust with any animal I come to care for like it is my own.

About: I truly enjoy taking care of pets because they add so much to our earthly experience. I’ve taken care of dogs who’ve needed a wide range of specialized care due to emotional/physical trauma and maturing into senior care. I’m very patient and flexible and want to do what I can to deeply understand you and your pets’ needs. I will be off from 9 to 5 all of May! I’m available mornings and afternoons (lunchtime). I’ll have a lot of flexibility so, I’m open to pet sitting too. I don’t just treat pets as if it was my own; I treat pets as humans and ensure they are respected and properly cared for. I live in a rental apartment that does not permit pets, so I would have to care for the pet in your home. This means that I will honor your space, respect your privacy, and ensure cleanliness at all times.

“Daphne is communicative, prompt, kind, and loves our dog as much as we do. She leaves detailed notes and takes lots of pictures, too. I absolutely recommend booking with her!”

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my whole life. My mom is a biologist so she taught me from a very young age how every living thing has a soul and a place in this world. She would pick up mice and spiders that got into our home with her hands and take them outside (instead of killing them). Needless to say, I am very comfortable around animals. I’ve had dogs and cats as pets my whole life and I consider myself pretty good with them, even when meeting stray cats or other people’s dogs in the street; I am very patient with them and always let them feel confident with me before I pet them. I have never house-sat for dogs before but I have taken care of roommate’s and friend’s dogs while they are at work or out of town, feeding them, and taking them for walks, etc. I have house-sat for my mom’s cat before (at the end of 2021, actually, for her birthday) which you can read about in my testimonials. Full-disclosure – I’m currently looking for a part-time job so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! I have a car so I can drive over to you, just let me know what your daily and weekly needs are so we can figure out a schedule :) I’m currently not allowed to have any fur babies at my apartment so I will give your pups all the attention and play-time they want. Like I said above, I’ll let them get comfortable with me at their own pace but, of course, take care of their basic needs like food, water, and walks. Just let me know how they do with other dogs on the street and with other humans – if they’re shy, really energetic, etc.

“Evlin was the best! Not only did she take a great walk with Bruno but she put up with his pulling and shared great dog tips with me. I will definitely use her again!”

About: I have over 8 years of dog care, walking and sitting experience. No dog too big or small. Special needs dogs are my specialty! Looking forward to being your pets’ new buddy. I work part time remotely, so my schedule is pretty wide open. I always have time to take dogs on 2-4 walks a day. Mornings, afternoons, and evenings all have availability. I have a fenced yard and a dog & cat. They are both friendly and cross species trained. I let them out a few times a day, but prefer to do at least one big walk per day, whether it is to the park or on a nature walk.

“Sarah is so sweet and cheerful, and my dog loved her! She was punctual and took lots of cute pics of my pup on their walking adventures. Highly recommend and look forward to booking again in the future!”

“This is the second or third time I’ve needed a last minute walker in a pinch and Lindsay is fantastic! Maggie was very happy when I got home, and I was relieved to not have to worry about her.”

“We brought our dogs down for the first and needed a last minute sitter. Sherryanne was quick to respond and so easy to work with. She also did a meet and greet before we started the dog walk sessions to get familiar with the dogs. Highly recommend leaving your pups in her care.”

About: Although I’ve been sitting via Rover since November 2023, I have been house & pet-sitting for friends for many years. I have experience with very large dogs (i.e. 80+ lb German Shepherds) who are ‘dog-reactive’; walking same-residence dogs in pairs who have a large age difference; walking same-residence dogs separately due to large age difference; and multiple cats with a mix of indoor & outdoor plus indoor/outdoor hybrid. Since joining Rover, I have added quite a lot of experience with senior dogs including some who are sight and hearing impaired, as well as varying degrees of doggy dementia. Walking with dogs is genuinely one of my favorite things to do- I keep my phone pocketed during dog walks, both for safety and to simply enjoy the walk. I’m a generous belly rubber & scratcher, am content to play catch on a near infinite loop, and am a happy recipient of licks from the pooches and biscuit-making from the kitties. I work from home booking live music entertainment for events. The vast majority of my work is laptop and phone based, with occasional in-person meetings and events to drop by. When I am on a pet stay I don't go out at night socially, and I cook at home or order in. I get out most days to exercise and every couple days to grocery shop. I have a hierarchy of my approach and goals when staying with pets. First, the foundation is safety & well being. This is safe walking, a safe home, eating & sleeping normally, medications, etc. Second is comfort and routine- my goal is for your pet to not be anxious because you are away. I look for signs of anxiety and do my best to allay fears & stress. Third is a love connection- when I depart from a pet stay, I want to miss your pets in the kind of way that you do when you have to leave home. And finally, given everything else goes according to plan, the lagniappe of a great stay is that your pet experienced a ‘staycation’ - that they come to understand that my very existence is for them specifically, and maybe they get even more doted upon than they normally do, what with busy schedules and lives and such. The best sign of a great stay with your pet(s) is that when you return, while they are obviously happy to see you, they are pretty relaxed about it.
