I am a lifelong dog owner, with experience caring for extremely young puppies since the age of 15. I work with dogs professionally as a groomer and previous to this worked at various kennels over the course of several years. I can administer medications including insulin, provide basic training for younger pups, and have also cared for animals outside the norm such as birds, reptiles, and horses. Additionally I am comfortable working with pets that may be less socialized or particular, with a few added meetings prior to the stay (at no extra cost!) so they can get used to me. Historically in both my professional career and my pet sitting endeavors I have been known for being great with pets that others may consider more “difficult”!

Dex was an excellent sitter and also flexible and easy to communicate with. We so appreciated her service as we were visiting from out of town and wanted to see tourist sites that don’t allow dogs. Her own pup is so cute and played with my dog all day. I highly recommend Dex.
Dex was a wonderful dog boarding experience for Spike my dog. I’ve never seen Spike so calm and reassured than when they were staying at Dex, so I’m beyond appreciative for the care that was extended to my little fur baby and the consistent communication that kept me connected even when I was away. Dex took such great care of my pup while I was away for a little over a week! Dex sent fun pictures and updates that gave me peace of mind, and when my dog developed an ear infection during the stay, Dex let me know right away and was super helpful with treatment. I know Missy was well loved and had a great time in Dex’s care. Couldn’t ask for more—highly recommend! Will absolutely book Dex again!

Schedule
I am currently working only 2 days a week, and am able to bring pups to work with me if needed so I am able to focus all of my attention on your furry family all day!

Safety, trust & environment
I love doing enrichment type activities with the dogs I watch, like playing with toys or taking them for walks and/or hikes in nearby parks. As a dog owner and enthusiast I can’t resist those cute faces, so they get plenty of snuggles and cuddles from me! Having quite a few years of experience working in kennels I am able to provide a professional level of safety procedures and attention to the details that make your pet unique. If staying in my home, I can also provide a professional bath or groom at request to return your pup to you nice and fresh, and if staying in your home I always provide clean up services (including washing and replacing any bedding, towels, etc I use, taking out trash, cleaning dishes, and any general tidying up) at the end of my stay!

A typical day
I love being active and including the dogs I care for in that! Higher energy dogs can accompany me on a jog or run, or we can play fetch or with a frisbee with an adequate outside area! We have a small fenced backyard that’s a great spot for this, and a larger fenced area right across the street!
