“My dog is actually ready to pack her bags and leave us to go live with Emily now! Sable needed to be watched during an evening event due to her separation anxiety, and she was not only happy to go to Emily’s house after we had a meet and greet the week before, but she also was completely comfortable and not even excessively eager to go home when we picked her up. Sable had a great time, and Emily sent many pictures documenting Sable’s day with her, as well as updates on how things were going. I have over a decade of experience working in the veterinary industry, so, unfortunately, I have seen what can happen to pets left with the wrong caretakers, and I’m very cautious with whom I entrust my pets’ care to due to this potential. I would trust Emily with any of my four dogs, and I am so glad she agreed to meet with me and watch Sable! Sable is happy to have some new friends built in with Emily’s own pack of 5 star canine employees (who were happy to show Sable the ropes, but also would have been content to take the day off and stay in their own spaces if Sable didn’t like or want to be around other dogs), and I am happy to have peace of mind that my dogs will be looked after with the same level of attention I would provide. Oh, and have I mentioned Emily’s yard and home? A paradise for pups and people alike with shade being provided throughout the day from oak trees and ramped decking (especially great for pups that can’t do stairs!), so the heat that may keep my crew indoors during certain times of the day at home is miraculously manageable at Emily’s house! This is perfect for those hounds that would rather spend more time outside, but the inside of Emily’s home is just as inviting with many comfy spaces set up for the pups to rest or play in a controlled climate. I hear guests are even allowed on the furniture! ☺️🥰”

About: Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. I believe they teach us unconditional love, help us stay present, and enrich our lives in countless ways. I love dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, though I have a particular appreciation for larger breeds such as Pit Bulls, Dobermans, and Rottweilers. Over the years, I've spent countless hours learning about canine behavior, training, and communication to better understand their needs and how they experience the world. My beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Bella, was my companion for 13 wonderful years. During the last five years of her life, she lived with diabetes, requiring twice-daily insulin injections, regular veterinary care, and cataract surgery. Caring for her taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of providing consistent, compassionate care—especially for dogs with special medical needs. I understand that pets are family. Whether your dog needs a walk, playtime, companionship, or extra care and attention, I'll treat them with the same love, respect, and responsibility that I gave my own. I currently work from home while building my real estate investment business, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be attentive to the needs of the pets in my care. My day typically starts between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. with meditation and exercise, followed by work from my home office. Because I set my own schedule, I can easily accommodate walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, medication needs, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. If your dog is boarding with me, I enjoy incorporating outdoor walks into my daily routine and can provide regular exercise, enrichment, and one-on-one attention. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I care for pets according to their owner's preferred schedule and routine whenever possible. I understand that consistency helps pets feel safe, comfortable, and secure, whether they're in my home or their own. I take the time to learn each pet's feeding schedule, exercise needs, medication requirements, favorite activities, and any special instructions. My goal is to provide attentive, loving care while maintaining the routines and boundaries that are important to both the pet and their family.

About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.

“It can be hard to find sitters willing to help with challenging dogs, and I have a very sweet pup who, unfortunately, has some separation anxiety that means she can’t be left home alone at this point. Julia agreed to watch her for some daycare while my husband and I attended a family birthday party, and she also was great about setting up a Meet and Greet about a week beforehand so that Sable could be introduced to Julia and her own pups. Julia sent pictures and updates while we were away, and I appreciated her honesty when I asked how Sable did. It seems as though Sable was only mildly embarrassing and didn’t put Julia through too much hassle, so I’m very grateful to have someone trustworthy and kind to leave my pup with! About: I've had pets since I was a pre-teen, and recently I've been a rescue foster for dogs & cats for the past 2 years, so I have cared for many animals, many with behavioral issues. I have two rescue pitbulls and two rescue cats of my own. I have been working from home as a nonprofit contractor & artist. Although I do not have a car, I am able to bop around town via bike I have a fenced-in yard and two friendly dogs who would love to keep your doggy company. I also have a large crate in a separate front room if they need their own space.

About: I grew up raising dogs and cats in my household. Since 2010 I've adopted pets on my own, cats and a dog. I currently have one cat I rescued as a kitten three years ago and a dog who loves to play that I rescued 2 years ago from a shelter. Im a teacher who loves spending time with pets and I enjoy the extra excitement that comes from watching little ones for those who are out of town. I love showering pets with affection and all the care they need to be joyous and safe. I love walks and play time with all my animals. Getting to help make a pet feel loved would be a perfect use of my time.

About: I grew up in an animal loving home and have had them as pets since birth. Since I can remember, I have been the one friends and family have called on to care for pets, young and old, healthy and injured. I have fostered and owned dogs with dog aggression issues and have a special place in my heart for these often misunderstood souls. I am comfortable walking with them and have the physicality to maintain control and safety. As an avid walker, one of the best joys in life is walking side by side with a canine companion. I believe in taking care of animals like children, with love warmth, attention, cuddles, positive reinforcement and boundaries. I have had the pleasure to raise 3 dogs from puppyhood until their elder life cycle and am very comfortable with aging doggos and those with special needs. I also work part time in a grooming shop, so I can get your baby squeaky clean and beautiful for you. I am currently working part-time in a grooming shop a couple days a week and I work from remotely from home part-time. Saying that, my schedule is very open to spend time with animals. I live within walking distance of City Park and walk almost daily. I have open yard that is not fenced in but I have temporary fencing that I can use for dogs who require more outside time than lengthy walks. I have several crates that I can setup for dogs that need them or if you don't want to transport your own. I follow the owners lead if dogs are allowed on furniture, but if so, they are welcome to cuddle on the couch. I prefer that dogs sleep in their own bed, one of my loaner beds or a crate. I will honor the owners feeding schedule as to make the transition easy for everyone. I do have 2 cats in the home who have grown up around dogs their whole life and are generally ambivalent to them. I send daily photo updates and generally treat your baby as my own while in my care.
