About: My childhood dog was obsessed with my dad, so I didn't *truly* embrace my love of dogs until I moved in with an anxious, expressive Weimaraner 15 years ago. Beyond walking and sitting my sweet "furnephew," I have cared for a sassy Chihuahua, a paranoid bowling ball (aka Pitbull), a ball-obsessed Jack Russell mix, and a shy English Springer. Most significantly, I co-owned a stubborn, aloof Shiba Inu for more than four years, starting at 9 weeks. He taught me a special appreciation for reactive, highly-vigilant, and misunderstood dogs. I was accustomed to writing detailed instructions to make sure my sensitive boy felt comfortable and safe with any walker or sitter. I work mostly from home, and I'm looking to fit in sitting and walking engagements into my downtime to get my dog fix. I will also be available some evenings and weekends. For reliable recurring care, I work with my partner, Mike, a fellow 5-star Rover sitter. With your prior approval, he may occasionally cover a scheduled walk when needed. About: I spent a month caring for an elderly dog back in college. I ensured she received her daily medications and took her on walks on the icy Midwest winter sidewalks. She was a joy to spend time with! I currently work part time and on my own schedule, so I am flexible and able to schedule a visit that can meet your fur-baby’s needs! About: I grew up around lot's of golden retrievers (and other dog breeds too)! I love all animals but am most experienced with bigger, more active dogs. The golden retriever my family has now is vastly different from the golden I had growing up. Harper our first dog, adored people but displayed a lot of leash aggression around dogs she didn't know. Millie, our current dog, also loves people but wants to befriend any and all dogs she passes. Having lots of experience walking both of them, I know how drastically different dog personalities can be. With Harper I got very used to changing course on my walks to avoid other dogs and only letting her interact with dogs she knew and owners I trusted. Communicating with other dog owners while out on a walk is very important to me because every dog is different and sometimes interactions can be unpredictable. Regular exercise, mentally stimulating play/interaction, affection, attentive care, and proper training are very important aspects of having a pet. I love going on long walks and hikes, playing fetch in nearby parks, and genuinely enjoy looking after pets. I am also very passionate about cleaning up after dogs and leaving no trace. During a home visit, you can expect that I will feed and medicate your pet if necessary (I only have experience with oral meds), refill their water, let them out to use the bathroom, give them lots of cuddles, and play or walk them till they are tired out. I have lots of available time at the moment while taking a break from travel and would love to fill it looking after local pets! I have a fully fenced in backyard, a friendly and an energetic two-year-old golden named Millie who loves making new friends, and lots of experience with crate training.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
