“Stefanie and her family took our Bleu into their home this weekend and treated him like a member of their family. I really appreciated all the photo pupdates too.”

“Stephen and Cece were phenomenal! With an anxious dog, it can sometimes be difficult when leaving your fur baby behind. There were numerous updates throughout the day, with pictures and I felt that Lady was left in great hands! Stephen even suggested a trial run, prior to our expected drop off day, which was a phenomenal idea. They cared for Lady as if she were their own and I couldn't recommend them more!”

“Ruya and Berg are a great pair of dog sitters, our pup is always so comfortable in their home. Friendly, good people that love dogs. I would highly recommend.”

“Renee took care of my dog twice now and I couldn’t be anymore pleased with the care and love she gave him. So gentle, accommodating, and great communication. Highly recommended!”

“Jason was absolutely amazing with my dog, Tayto! I felt so at ease knowing he was in great hands. Jason totally welcomed Tayto in to his home and family. His dog, Noah, was the best playmate for Tayto. Jason gave lots of updates and photos to share all the fun they were having together. Definitely recommend and will be booking with him again!”

“I cannot thank Nadya enough. She was amazing with her attention and care, especially when my request was on such short notice. I highly recommend anyone in need of someone to board with her!”

“This was our second time leaving our dog with Xiaoyuan and William. Our dog is very anxious and slow to warm up to new people but he settled in so quickly with them! They sent so many super cute videos, pictures, and updates while we were away which we loved! Definitely will rebook with them again.”

“Jess and her family were great! Our 11 pound Cavapoo (Molly) stayed with Jess for 7 nights while our family went on our first vacation without our beloved pup. I knew Molly was well cared for and happy (perhaps a bit too happy given her ambivalence to seeing me when I picked her up 🙂). I felt very comfortable leaving Molly with Jess and would certainly do so again. Jess was very responsive and sent me regular updates and pictures. I think Molly particularly enjoyed the freedom Jess allows the dogs in the house. For example, I sent Molly with her crate that she happily sleeps in at our home, but with Jess Molly just slept on the couch with the other dogs. Spoiled for sure!”

“Yan was very responsive and provided constant updates with photos and videos! She also gave my dog a bath! Would absolutely recommend Yan to anyone looking for a dog sitter in the area!”

“Alaina and her family did an awesome job taking care of Dakota- really kind and down to earth people that love dogs! This was our first time leaving him at someone else’s home, and Alaina quickly made us feel very comfortable. She sent us pictures and daily updates and she was super flexible and kind when I changed up the plans a few times. The big fenced in area and quiet street made me feel like Dakota was in a safe spot. I would be happy to have Alaina watch Dakota again!”

“My dog Lumi loves when Shauna watches her. She does an amazing job taking care of her. Lumi gets super excited to see her so I know she is in good hands. Shauna is my go to dog sitter and I would definitely recommend her!”

“Life got very chaotic very quickly with a family emergency, we were at odds what to do with Sara since she could not go with us. Luckily, Maghan and her family was able to take her, It was like leaving Sara with a trusted family member, the daily photos we were sent made the stress of having to leave her dissolve, I felt she was on vacation and extremely well taken care of.”

“Zwany and Leandro were conscientious and kind with Serena and Bobby; they sent daily pics and/or videos which helped with my missing my pups while away, and my friends enjoyed them, too! I loved receiving the puppy report card of their stay—a personal touch from a professional duo.”

“We have finally found the perfect babysitter. Jasmine made us feel safe, comfortable and completely at ease after the first day. The daily communication complete with daily videos is unmatched. This is a deeply caring person who cares for her charges as though they were her own. We can’t thank her enough and will always use jasmine and recommend her to anyone who will listen. Thank you Jasmine for a safe and secure environment.”

“This was Cosmo’s second stay at Jaime’s place, and this time it was for more than 10 days. We were completely at peace knowing he was comfortable and well cared for, especially with Luna by his side. Jaime already knew Cosmo’s routine and took care of everything so thoughtfully. We kept receiving regular updates with pictures and videos, which made us so happy. Surprisingly, Cosmo never even used his crate during the stay — a clear sign that he truly felt at home. Luna is definitely his best buddy! We had absolutely no worries knowing Cosmo was in such good hands, and we’ll surely be reaching out to Jaime for many more stays.”

“Brooklyn watched our Sydney for a quick overnight. She was very kind and responsive. Very accommodating of our pup's schedule and needs. We felt very at ease knowing she was in good hands”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Scituate
Ben took such great care of Lucy while I was away, and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. His communication was outstanding, sending regular updates with lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was happy and well cared for. I especially appreciated how thoughtful he was with Lucy’s high puppy energy, particularly during the extreme heat this past week. He made sure she still got exercise while keeping her safe and comfortable, adjusting to short frequent activities given the high temperatures. It was also Lucy’s first time with fireworks and he made sure she was not afraid or anxious. Lucy came home happy, tired, relaxed, and clearly well loved. I would absolutely trust Ben with her again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring dog sitter. Thank you so much Ben!

When our usual dog sitter had to cancel a 7-day stay at close to the last minute Cecelia cheerfully stepped in to take care of Zorro, thank goodness. She took the time to meet him beforehand and we had the chance to introduce him to her family which made dropping him off a few days later much easier. During the stay he had lots of walks, snuggles, games and treats. When I picked him up he was totally content, wandering around getting extra pets from her and her daughter while we chatted. While we were away Cecelia sent regular updates and pictures. Overall a great experience for me and Zorro! I'm sure we'll be back.
Matt kept my 35 pound lab mix for 5 days over a holiday weekend and gave her wonderful care! She got tired out playing with his adorable dogs and kept an eye his cat from afar, haha. Matt is a caring and attentive host, flexible with my misbehaving love bug. Would definitely recommend!

Giseli was great - her two dogs were wonderful, she was super flexible with us, and our golden retriever had a wonderful time with loads of walks and play. She sent pictures throughout which made us very happy and comfortable that all was well, as this was Duke's first stay away from home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
