“Angela, Paul, and Ana took amazing care of Beau! They sent lots of updates and photos of his time with them -- and it was wonderful seeing how well he was doing and knowing he was getting tons of attention while we were away! They went above and beyond, and we know Beau will definitely want to go back with them again!”

“If I could give more stars, I would! Shatane and her family are truly wonderful people. They treated Ziggy and me with respect and showed Ziggy love and attention every day during his 3-day stay this week. I would definitely recommend Shatane—excellent communication, with plenty of updates, pictures, and videos.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better place for Frankie to be while we were away.A fenced in back yard where she could run and play with other dogs. The pictures they sent gave us a great feeling while we away and missing her.Our nephew just got a puppy and we told him we would highly recommend Ben and Sarah.”

“Jeremy and Rui were great with my dog, Rita. Rita is just a year old and can be a handful, she has a ton of puppy energy. Leaving her isn’t easy, Jeremy and Rui sent pictures of her playing and set our minds at ease. She’s been welcomed back anytime! I would definitely recommend them!”

“Rene has a wonderful set up and we highly recommend him for overnight dog sitting service. Thanks to the pictures sent, Lucy appeared to feel right at home and loved playing with his dogs and other borders!”

“Grigorii was fabulous with our dog. He took great care of her even when she wasn't feeling the best during a heat wave. In addition, he was communicative and easy to work with. I would definitely board our dog with him again!”

“I was visiting from out of town and needed a dog sitter last minute. Shelby responded very quickly to my request and was super accommodating for a last minute booking. I immediately felt at ease when I dropped Cola off. The entire family came out to greet us, it was very sweet! I was sent great pictures, videos, and updates regularly during Cola's visit and really appreciated that! Cola looked to have A LOT of fun staying w/Shelby and family! I would definitely recommend her! Thanks so much Shelby!!!”

“Both of our dogs were so happy with Theresa. She took care of them for two weeks, and they had a great time. Theresa provided regular updates with lots of pictures and videos. She carefully followed feeding instructions and gave medication to one of our dogs with no trouble. We were able to enjoy our trip with peace of mind that our boys were safe and being well-cared for. We would not hesitate to recommend Theresa as a sitter, and will be using her services again for our next trip.”
“Anna Carolina was so caring and loving with Pebbles! I absolutely love that she had plenty of doggies for Pebbs to play with and she really had the best time in her home. A doggy paradise!”

“Jenn and Bobby saved our weekend plans by taking care of our pup when the family member who usually watches her had to cancel last minute. Thank you so much and we'll definitely be in touch again soon!”

“My two doggies had a great time with Zach. My 10 year old boxer gets medicine twice a day and he was able to accommodate that for her. I got pictures of the babies playing through out the day. They slept the whole next day because they were wore out from all the playing with their new friends so I know they had a good time. Definitely recommend.”

“Eileen took our Golden "Rowie" in on short notice over the school break and saved our vacation after the reservation at our Kennel was cancelled. She sent videos and kept us updated on how he was doing and it sure looked like he had a fun time with his new dog friends! Highly recommend Eileen!”

“Michele was the perfect sitter to watch our rescue dog while we were in town for an event. She took the time to introduce our dog to the space before meeting the other dogs, and was overall so understanding. Our normally shy dog cuddled right up and really enjoyed her time with Michele!”

“Heidi watched my Lucy for one week while we were away on vacation. She sent photos and videos every day. It appeared that Lucy was really enjoying herself and Heidi was taking excellent care of my baby. I would have Heidi watch Lucy again knowing that she was being well cared for. Thank you Heidi.”

About: I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. I have been an animal lover and pet owner my whole life but have been a professional pet care specialist for 7+ years. I now work in an animal hospital but in the past I managed a doggy daycare for 2 years and worked for professional dog walking companies for a total of 4 years. I specialized in the hiking program but I can do it all when it comes to your fur babies. From hiking, walking, park trips, in home pet sitting, administering medication, work on reinforcing basic commands and even checking in on your feline friends! I currently work for an animal hospital but still have time to spoil your fur babies. I am available Saturday through Monday and most early mornings, afternoons and evenings throughout the rest of the week. I am based in Pembroke but open to traveling. My dog and cats live a very spoiled life and get treated like royalty and I will care for your pets the same way. I will ask you questions about their daily schedule so that I can replicate it to my best ability when they are in my care.
“Maggie was wonderful. She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures. We were so happy and felt very comfortable that our pup was in great hands. We will definitely reach out to Maggie again the next time we need a sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hanover
Louie LOVED his time with Karin and her sweet dogs. He made himself right at home as soon as we arrived and we got lots of great photos of him having an active day and playing. He was worn out from all the fun the next day. We felt totally comfortable leaving Louie with Karin and would absolutely do it again. I’d recommend Karin any day, your dog will have a blast!

Lora is fantastic and I know Finn had so much fun with her and her family! Lora provided regular updates and photos daily and she is very accommodating to making sure our pup was comfortable and that we were comfortable too! Lora is a true professional and I highly recommend her

Janice was a miracle! My father in law was supposed to watch our pupper, but forgot to tell us he had a business trip come up until the day before we were supposed to leave! I was panicking because Leroy is a Velcro dog, and I am very picky about who watches him. Janice had so many great reviews and seemed like the right match, and thankfully was able to accept our last minute booking. After meeting her, I knew she was perfect to take care of Leroy! He instantly felt comfortable with her, and had such a great time! I am not sure he wanted to leave when we picked him up!!! Thank you Janice!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
