“Sarah and her family were wonderful with our dog, Rory. It was clear he was getting lots of love and snuggles while we were away. Sarah provided pictures during our trip. We would gladly use Sarah again in the future!”

“Helen was a great dog sitter. She kept us informed of throughout our dog’s stay and sent lots of pictures of Maggie. She kept her company and took her for walks. Maggie was well cared for which made us very happy while we were away from her.”

“While we are always anxious to leave our dog for several days, all our worries we’re gone when we say the first set of pictures that Lora sent. From his body language, we could see that our Teddy was happy and comfortable in his new environment. Would definitely recommend Lora’s services and we will be keeping her at the top of our list for future overnight bookings.”

“What a great experience! We had a hard time finding the best place to leave our boy when we traveled. Barry was excellent. Our dog seemed very happy ate well and was able to be his quirky self. It made our travels easier and more enjoyable, knowing he was in a good safe kind space.”

“Larisa and her pups took such great care of our girl Georgia while we were away visiting family. Larisa sent videos, photos and updates each day we were gone to show us how well Georgia was being taken care of! Georgia got to go on beautiful walks around a bog, play in Larisa's yard and even got to lounge in multiple nap spots. Georgia got along so well with Daisy and Tess, Larisa's doggies, and I know they were an added benefit to her stay! We were so happy that Georgia was so happy and would absolutely seek out Larisa's care again!”

“Jenn and Bobby saved our weekend plans by taking care of our pup when the family member who usually watches her had to cancel last minute. Thank you so much and we'll definitely be in touch again soon!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for family members and close friends for several years. During that time, I’ve learned that every pet has its own personality, routine, and needs. Caring for dogs is something I truly enjoy and offer on a part-time basis with flexible availability. Since I spend a lot of time at home outside of my work schedule, I am able to provide a calm, attentive, and comfortable environment for dogs in my care. I make sure each pup receives plenty of attention, affection, potty breaks, playtime, and rest throughout their stay. I’m happy to follow each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable while away from home. I care for dogs in my home by providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can feel relaxed and loved. I make sure they have fresh water, regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, quiet rest time, and plenty of attention. I always follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, routines, medications, and any special needs. For safety, I supervise dogs carefully, keep the space secure, and introduce them gradually to new areas or activities so they can feel comfortable and at ease.
“I felt that Stephen and Ceicilia took great care of Oliver. He was nice and fit, they took him for walks and were with him all the time. He seemed really happy and well taken care of .”

“Kudos to Shannon! She's the best! We boarded our Lily with her for 5 days. She picked her up and dropped her off for a nominal fee. Well worth it! She took very good care of her - Lily has a special diet and diabetes. Shannon's an animal lover. She treats all of them as if they were her own! She sent us pics and videos while we were away. I would highly recommend her. Lily had a blast!”

“Alana was absolutely wonderful! We have a special needs dog and he was so well taken care of and more! We are so ever grateful to Alana and her wonderful family for all that they did for our little man while we were away. We highly recommend Alana as you can rest assured your pooch will be safe and very well cared for. Thank you again Alana and Papi can't wait to see you guys again!”

“Louie, our English springer spaniel, loved his time in Wanyi’s home. He was well taken care of, had lots of activities and exercise and was treated like a member of her family. She sent us pictures and updates every day. We are thrilled with our experience. We highly recommend Wanyi!!!!”

“Thank you for being such a great host family for Jack.... Jack is a loving 5½ year old golden retriever that loves people. He doesn't visit other houses very often, & is rarely away from me. Although Jack was a bit nervous, going to a strange house with people he didn't know, this family made him feel at home. Phil went so far as to sleep on the couch in the same room as Jack. I will definitely use this family in the future & highly recommend them if your looking for a loving family for your pup.... Thank you again”

“Angela, Paul, and Ana took amazing care of Beau! They sent lots of updates and photos of his time with them -- and it was wonderful seeing how well he was doing and knowing he was getting tons of attention while we were away! They went above and beyond, and we know Beau will definitely want to go back with them again!”

“Grigorii took exceptional care of my baby girl Remi. Remi is now very comfortable with the out doors. Thanks a bunch for that! He was very accommodating with my short notice. He truly demonstrates the prefect dog friend and furry bestie. I will definitely use him again…not short notice this time. Thank you so very much! Best, Natali”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs since I was a little girl. Animals love me and I love them. I don’t have any pets at this time and would love to help care for yours. I’m currently self employed and create my own schedule which is very flexible. I have plenty of free time to care for pets. No worries for frequent potty trips. My home has a fenced in yard so perfect for playtime. Lots of birds and squirrels parading around for amusement. Very comfortable and reliable to come to your home as well.
“Theresa was super friendly and communicative. She provided lots of updates, photos, and videos. Nelly got to play with lots of dogs over the weekend which she loved! Will book with Theresa time and time again.”

“This was Cosmo’s second stay at Jaime’s place, and this time it was for more than 10 days. We were completely at peace knowing he was comfortable and well cared for, especially with Luna by his side. Jaime already knew Cosmo’s routine and took care of everything so thoughtfully. We kept receiving regular updates with pictures and videos, which made us so happy. Surprisingly, Cosmo never even used his crate during the stay — a clear sign that he truly felt at home. Luna is definitely his best buddy! We had absolutely no worries knowing Cosmo was in such good hands, and we’ll surely be reaching out to Jaime for many more stays.”

Michele was a great choice for boarding our dog, Rhea, while we were away. We received updates from her with pictures, at least once, if not twice, a day. Michele's home is very dog friendly and she and her husband treat your dog just like one of their own. I will definitely book with Michele again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
