“We loved working with Amy and Jonathan. They were so welcoming to our dogs and we absolutely loved the picture updates we received while we were away. We felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with them.”

“Brian and Shawnie are the best! Very experienced dog owners that are super reliable and trust worthy, by far the best dog boarding experience we’ve ever had. We have a very big mastiff (170 lbs) who is a giant baby so he’s tough to find the right environment for but we had zero concerns after meeting Brian and his wife. Vinny was extremely well taken care of and loved while we were away to the point that we could actually enjoy our vacation and not feel guilty or bad about leaving our baby behind! Brian went above and beyond to make sure Vinny was nice and cool on a hot day, took him for walks (which we’ve never even experienced before as everyone else is afraid to walk such a big dog), and played with him whenever he wanted. We received many updates, pictures, and videos and had total peace of mind. I highly recommend Brian’s care and will 100% be returning for all trips moving forward.”

“Awesome experience!! Was happy to meet for the meet and greet where all my questions were answered for the upcoming stay. Then throughout the entirety of the stay, it was all very professional! Would absolutely book again!”

“Helen was a great dog sitter. She kept us informed of throughout our dog’s stay and sent lots of pictures of Maggie. She kept her company and took her for walks. Maggie was well cared for which made us very happy while we were away from her.”

“Endy was our first time using Rover with our 4 year old labradoodle so I was a little nervous but she was amazing! Our dog was instantly comfortable with Endy and her family and had a blast while there. Endy sends lots of pics which was so nice to see. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog is very content when she gets home from a stay at Elaine’s, at other more commercial kennel/daycares she comes home with a bit more nervous energy. We recommend Elaine!”

“Shelby and her family were very welcoming and eased my mind right off the bat! I am always nervous about leaving my pup in someone’s care, but Shelby was sure to keep me updated with frequent texts and pictures letting me know JoJo was doing great. Though the yard is not fenced in she reassured me Jo would safe and she made sure he got plenty of walks in. I look forward to booking again with Shelby in the near future.”

“An ideal experience, Linda was fantastic and I’m bot sure my dog wanted to leave, which is always a good sign! Lots of walks and photos, great to come home to a tired, happy pooch. Thank you!”

“Rebecca was so amazing with our senior dog! At 15 years old Bella needs a little extra attention and care and I felt so comfortable and assured that she was in good hands with Rebecca’s experience with older dogs. She was so gracious, keeping us informed with daily updates, pictures and videos, I would highly recommend her to take extra special care of your family dog!”
“Larisa and her pups took such great care of our girl Georgia while we were away visiting family. Larisa sent videos, photos and updates each day we were gone to show us how well Georgia was being taken care of! Georgia got to go on beautiful walks around a bog, play in Larisa's yard and even got to lounge in multiple nap spots. Georgia got along so well with Daisy and Tess, Larisa's doggies, and I know they were an added benefit to her stay! We were so happy that Georgia was so happy and would absolutely seek out Larisa's care again!”

“She was great she took my dog on short notice and made her feel so comfortable. Ziva had other dogs to hangout with and enjoyed her stay. I would recommend using her!”

“Sarah and her family were wonderful with our dog, Rory. It was clear he was getting lots of love and snuggles while we were away. Sarah provided pictures during our trip. We would gladly use Sarah again in the future!”

“I can’t recommend Shannon enough! Her home is a true puppy utopia—Archie had an absolute blast. She’s such a joy to talk to, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs. She kept us updated with lots of photos and responded incredibly quickly”

“Stephen and Cece were phenomenal! With an anxious dog, it can sometimes be difficult when leaving your fur baby behind. There were numerous updates throughout the day, with pictures and I felt that Lady was left in great hands! Stephen even suggested a trial run, prior to our expected drop off day, which was a phenomenal idea. They cared for Lady as if she were their own and I couldn't recommend them more!”

“Aryana was WONDERFUL! She took great care of our geriatric dog, and sent us dialy pics so we could enjoy our vacation knowing he was happy. When we were delayed picking him up, Aryana was so understanding and flexible. Cannot recommend her more highly....”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bridgewater
It was just around 2am in Japan (where we were vacationing) when Amanda arrived to pick up our 3 dogs from another Rover sitter who wasn't answering messages and hadn’t sent pictures of our pets in days. I had had to order a wellness check from the local police (yep, that was wild, but they were amazing about it). All of this craziness and Amanda stepped in and stepped up to take excellent care of our little guys! We were beyond relieved and grateful that she helped us from afar in this way, and then provided an environment where our dogs were clearly happy and relaxed. We received daily pictures of our guys having fun and resting. After Amanda took over, we were finally able to enjoy our trip. I cannot recommend her enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
