“Grigorri showed that he was passionate about animals from the very beginning. He is hospitable and recognizes the needs of a pet parent because he is a good one himself.”

“Stephen & Cecilia were wonderful to my little guy for an overnight stay at their house. They gave me lots of pics and updates. They were sweet and patient with Frank who can be a little shy!”

“Lora was very sweet, and took great care of our puppy. Her yard is wonderful for a dog like ours who needs space to run in a safe and fenced environment. We will hope to be able to return again next time we are in need of boarding. Highly recommended.”

“Michele is amazing! She took such good care of our guy over the Christmas holiday while we traveled out of state. She even got him his own stocking ☺️ She was great with communication and sending updates / photos! Her home is welcoming and a perfect place for any dog! We look forward to using her again.”

“Shelby and her family took excellent care of our two golden retrievers over a weekend that we traveled out of state. They sent us timely updates and pictures and our pups had a great stay. Highly recommend!”

About: This home has 2 friendly dogs and 1 wonderful cat. Very pet friendly. I have 5 children and I also take care of my elderly Father in Law. I am experienced in puppies also as my 2 dogs has had 2 litters already which we found wonderful caring homes for. 🥰😍 I work from home. I also take care of my elderly disabled Father in Law. Pet care fits in my daily schedule as I am always home. I have a fenced in yard and friendly 2 dogs and a cat of my own. I have crates available if needed. You are welcomed to bring your own.
“Casey, Phil and their dog Chloe were absolutely fantastic with Penny, our 6 month old golden retriever puppy, for a week long stay. They sent us daily pictures and updates about how Penny was doing which really took the stress out of leaving her for the first time. They were patient at our meet and greet ahead of her stay and made sure to answer any and all of our questions. Would highly recommend them and we will absolutely be using them again in the future!”

“I think my dog would rather stay at Theresa's house than come home with us LOL! She takes wonderful care of Peppa, even at the last minute, and we never hesitate to leave our pup with her.”

About: Graduated from UNH class 2014 with a Bachelors in Zoology. Proud to have over 20 years of animal care. 15 years of multi pet ownership . ---Raised and trained 8 dogs from puppy to adult. Spent 6 months volunteering at an animal shelter. Have completed Two separate 10 session dog training courses with a certified dog trainer. Have completed online Instructional courses on E-collar training and behavior modification. Have experience handling dogs with behavioral issues/quirks Have cared for pets of family and friends in addition to my own for over 15 years . My family and I currently have two dogs and a lizard, so pet care is part of our daily routine, 24/7 365. My own dogs are walked daily and stimulated through play and training. When we are home as a family, the dogs are out with us enjoying life. When we are out of the house, they are either crated or secured in a room with fresh water. Safety/Security and respecting the animals are my core values. While the animals in my home are cared for like family, they are taught to respect boundaries and work for affection. In my care, pets are leashed unless they are in a secure, fenced area. I take the time to understand each animal is an individual who has unique needs. I cater my approach to each animal based on their specific demeanor.

“Jamie was incredibly sweet and welcoming from the start making sure Cosmo felt comfortable during the meet-and-greet as well as his stay. Her adorable pup Luna played such a big role in helping Cosmo settle in quickly, and before we knew it, he was completely comfortable with their family. Usually Cosmo prefers staying in his crate while boarding, but with Jamie’s family he became so relaxed that he preferred their bed instead, which truly showed how safe and loved he felt there. Jamie also kept us updated regularly, giving us so much peace of mind. This is honestly the fastest I’ve ever seen Cosmo warm up to a family, and we’re definitely looking forward to many more stays. Highly recommend Jamie and her wonderful family for anyone looking for loving care for their furry buddies!”

“Cheyenne was amazing! My boy Leroy is a classic Velcro dog. He thinks he’s a person, so he always has to be with his human pack. Cheyenne made sure he was included in everything, and sent the cutest pictures that both cracked me up and made me miss him even more while I was gone. I felt so relieved and comfortable, knowing she was taking such good care of him. Even though we just met her, they totally clicked on their meet and greet so I knew my baby boy was in good hands.”

“Alana was great with my pup. The communication was great, the updates and picture were great and Leo had a great time. Thank you very much for watching him over the Thanksgiving weekend!”

“Justine was a phenomenal sitter! We had a bit of a last minute need for a sitter and couldn’t be more happy with our experience. Justine was attentive, helpful, and incredibly friendly. We had so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dog Violet got along so well with her Piper, and they definitely became fast friends. Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Jenna and Michael were wonderful. We are also sitters on Rover and probably have higher than average standards for our babygirl Sadie (~60 lb rescue). We first did a meet and greet and from the moment we meant them we knew they were good people. We had already meet four other sitters at this point and were starting to feel hopeless. Jenna and Michael were warm, and lovely from the start. Their home is spacious, their yard is BIG, and their own pup, Chase is adorable! Sadie got lots of exercise playing with Chase and going on walks. I was worried that Sadie would taunt their chickens the entire time (which she probably did) but they handled it with evident experience around this challenge. We would happily book with them again. Even though we had to drive 45 minutes to them, it was 100% worth it. Thank you, Jenna, Michael, and Chase.”

“Great experience - my dog is nine and has only stayed with family in the past, so it was wonderful to find a caring sitter locally who was able to care for her. Very responsive when contacted, and was flexible around timing (7am on New Year's Day, wow!) 10/10 would recommend.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Halifax
We couldn’t be happier with Leo’s care last week. We felt completely confident that he was safe and well taken care of the entire time. We loved the daily updates… it gave us so much peace of mind, and we were able to enjoy our trip stress-free since it was our first time leaving him for that long! We were especially grateful that they even did some training with him. Highly recommend and would definitely use again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
