“Patti takes such great care of our big guy Captain Nemo and also does an amazing job of caring for our house while we are away. We will have her back as often as we can go away!!!”

“Christina did a great job with Kali! It was a huge relief to know that she was getting as much attention as we give her (and more so). We missed our baby while out of town, but never once worried.”

“Colleen did a wonderful job watching our dog for a week while we were out of town. She left our home extremely clean and was very communicative with updates and photos. We’d recommend her for anyone looking for pet care and house sitting!”

“Ashlee is the best! I was so happy when I saw she was available such last minute since she has raving reviews, and now I know why! She was so sweet and patient with Chanel, even when Chanel was anxious and scared and a little nippy. She sent constant updates with pictures which was so reassuring especially since it was our first time leaving her. She was super responsive, attentive and communicative. She house sat and left the place cleaner than it was before we left it. I will definitely be rebooking her!”

“Jennifer and Matt were amazing with our dog, Kenzo. We were out of town for a week, and they house sat while we were gone. They spent a ton of time at our house with Kenzo, and we got a ton of pictures. Kenzo was very happy when we got back. Would definitely book again!”

About: "Hi there! I’m a stay-at-home mom of two teens , and 2 male goldendoodles. Growing up in Brazil, I had lots of animals, and since moving to the USA back in the 90’s I’ve always had dogs. The service is flexible, reliable, and i will spoil your dog with endless love and fun! They'll be safe and & I assure you I will treat them as my own! I’m a SAHM so Your dog will never be left alone, unless i have to run some quick errands, otherwise your pet will always be with me and my 2 goldendoodles . We like to go on walks, go to the nearby beaches and dog park, play fetch, chase ,catch squeaky balls or just hangout in our fenced in backyard but we also like to just chill out on the couch with the fam! I live in a quiet neighborhood and have a fenced in backyard. My 2 goldendoodles are friendly and used to having well behaved dogs in our home, so it’s always good to have a meet and greet first so make sure your dog is a good fit. They love to play, specially the youngest …he loves to be chased. Your dog will be safe ,happy and cared for!
“I’m so grateful for Hannah spending time with my cat while I was on vacation. She gave me peace of mind and kept me updated. She was great with my shy cat, getting him to warm up to her quickly. I’ll be looking to book with her again for sure!”

“Amy took very good care of my fur babies. She walked and fed them every day, plus stayed at the house. She even got my “scary cat” to come out of hiding. I have booked her for a second housesitting for a longer period of time. I trust her but most of all the fur babies trust her. I would recommend her to anybody.”
“Nicole and Steve did an amazing job looking after our Zona! We were away for a weekend and wanted someone who can stay at our place, since our dog is a senior with poor vision. Zona felt really comfortable with them. Nicole updated us daily with pictures. Her experience with animals made us feel at ease and we knew Zona is in good hands. We came back home to a happy dog and a clean house. Nicole and Steve are great and we will definitely use their help in the future!”
“I could not recommend Shauna more! She stayed at our home with our pup for over a week while we were on vacation and our house and dog could not have been in better hands. She sent wonderful updates/photos and cared for our place as if it were her own. Having someone so responsible while being away made our trip just that much more enjoyable. We can hardly wait to have her back and I know our furry friend agrees! Thank you, Shauna!”

“Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)”

“Allegra was absolutely wonderful with our pets! She took such good care of our senior dogs and cat, and we could tell they felt safe and comfortable with her. Allegra was a clear and consistent communicator, and she made sure to send us lots of pictures and updates while we were gone. We were able to relax and enjoy our trip knowing the pets were in good hands! We will definitely be using Allegra for any future pet care needs ☺️”

“Kailey was great! We have a brand new puppy and our older dog injured her paw, so it certainly wasn’t the easiest job but she handled it like a pro. She was communicative and professional.”

I am currently working part time so I have a lot of flexibility and time to care for your pets! I’m happy to wake up early or stay up late to ensure they are properly taken care of and are provided the best care! “Pamela was amazing! She accepted a last-minute booking to watch Willie Nelson, and we are so grateful. She arrived right on time, kept us updated throughout, and was so communicative and thoughtful. Willie was happy and relaxed when we got home, and we could tell he was well cared for. We’d book Pamela again in a heartbeat!”

About: I have never lived in a household without pets before, so taking care of cats and dogs (and fish) is something I’ve done my whole life. I’ve owned three black labs and multiple cats over the years. I especially love big dogs, but am a big fan of all animals! Besides Saturdays, I am available any day and any times through the summer. I start law school at the very end of August and will have less availability at that time, but I will still be looking for work! I love to keep my pets active and enriched, whether that means going on a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or going to the beach for a swim!
“Isabelle made me feel really comfortable going through this process, the first time using a rover house sitter. She took great care of Bonnie, sent lots of pics and updates, and left my home so clean and tidy!! Will definitely be requesting Isabelle again, and so should you!!!!”

About: I've had pets my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I treat every pet like they're my own and understand how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they're away. I've helped friends and family with their pets over the years, and I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Since I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and receive plenty of supervision, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Whether your pet is working on potty training, crate training, or following a specific routine, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while they’re in my care. I provide a safe, clean, calm, and smoke-free environment. While I don’t have a fenced yard, dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, and exercise based on their individual needs and energy levels. For privacy and safety reasons, I don’t offer home tours.
“Olivia was very communicative with me throughout the weekend, giving me updates and pictures. She followed and and checked in for any special directions about Gus and Hazel and my house. Gus and Hazel love staying with Olivia. Thank you!”

Patti is a dog sitter like no other. If it seems like she charges more than other Rover providers, I can promise you it’s worth it! We’ve had Patti house sit and care for our pup Ollie numerous times. She is beyond amazing and treats our home as if it is her own. We will definitely book again.

Jennifer and Matt were amazing with our dog, Kenzo. We were out of town for a week, and they house sat while we were gone. They spent a ton of time at our house with Kenzo, and we got a ton of pictures. Kenzo was very happy when we got back. Would definitely book again!

Laura stayed with our dog for 2 days and was fantastic. She sent lots of pictures, followed our directions to a T, gave him lots of attention and walks. She was very caring, and responsive and we felt extremely comfortable with her there because of it! Highly recommend and will definitely be scheduling with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Scituate on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,440 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Scituate. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Scituate walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Scituate maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Scituate choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Scituate. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
