About: I have never lived in a household without pets before, so taking care of cats and dogs (and fish) is something I’ve done my whole life. I’ve owned three black labs and multiple cats over the years. I especially love big dogs, but am a big fan of all animals! Besides Saturdays, I am available any day and any times through the summer. I start law school at the very end of August and will have less availability at that time, but I will still be looking for work! I love to keep my pets active and enriched, whether that means going on a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or going to the beach for a swim!
“Colleen did a wonderful job watching our dog for a week while we were out of town. She left our home extremely clean and was very communicative with updates and photos. We’d recommend her for anyone looking for pet care and house sitting!”

About: I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and fish. I have done overnights taking care of dogs. I would clean my neighbor cats litter box and feed them when they were on vacation. I used to volunteer at an animal shelter in the cat room. I’m going to be working part time over the summer 7:45-1:00pm, around early in the morning and afternoon to night. I can figure where to fit them in! I will always double check if they’ve gone the bathroom, been fed, walk and overall happiness when I’m at the home. I want satisfaction for you and the pet(s).

About: I have had dogs in my life since birth and have cared for dogs and cats for family, friends, and have branched out to clients also. I will watch your pet in your home for your comfort and treat both with the utmost care and respect. Animals mean the world to me and i have cared for dogs and cats of all ages. I can provide a flexible schedule currently and able to stay overnight with pets as needed. I will respect your pet’s needs and schedules. I will care for your pet in their own home to provide them comfort and familiarity. I am a very trusted home pet sitter with references on the level of respect and consideration I will provide them. I can stay overnight or if preferred make stops by your home to feed, walk, potty, or playtime with you beloved pet.
“I could not recommend Shauna more! She stayed at our home with our pup for over a week while we were on vacation and our house and dog could not have been in better hands. She sent wonderful updates/photos and cared for our place as if it were her own. Having someone so responsible while being away made our trip just that much more enjoyable. We can hardly wait to have her back and I know our furry friend agrees! Thank you, Shauna!”

“Christina did a great job with Kali! It was a huge relief to know that she was getting as much attention as we give her (and more so). We missed our baby while out of town, but never once worried.”

“Patricia did a great job caring for our kitties. One gets a bunch of medications, and the other gets stressed without human company, so it’s not easy leaving them. She was so communicative, flexible and thoughtful. The cats were happy to see us when we got home, which is their way of saying they had a good time.”

About: I have loved every dog I’ve ever met, no matter what they were like. My love for dogs is endless, I have owned multiple in my life and have taken care of many pets from friends and family. I’m also someone who loves to walk, no matter the weather. I would never pass up the opportunity! I would be a perfect fit for your dog 🐶!!! I am currently a college student on winter break, so my schedule is pretty open! I do have a dog of my own to take care of, but other than that I will be very likely to be able to help out you and your dog! I am not currently able to care for any pet at my own home, but I am completely able to go to your home and take care of your dog there! I am super open to whatever needs your dog may have or whatever may be happening at your home. No matter what, I’ll make sure your dog is safe and cared for!
“Hannah was great with the kids. They took to her right away and settled in. She listened to our instructions and gave great updates. She kept the house clean and the dogs were well cared for. They are looking forward to having her back !”

About: With a lifelong love for animals, I’ve grown up with dogs and currently share my home with several rescued cats, a puppy, and a senior dog. I have experience caring for pups of all ages and sizes, ensuring they feel safe and loved. You can trust me to provide your furry companions with engaging walks and plenty of love! I am currently an undergrad student home for the summer and have plenty of free time to take care of all your pets needs ! I provide a loving and safe environment for pets in both my home and my clients' homes. I ensure that each pet's routine is followed, including feeding, playtime, and bathroom breaks. For cats, I maintain a clean litter area and offer plenty of interactive play to keep them engaged. I'm big on sending lots of pictures on walks and boarding days to keep you updated!

“Genevieve had her hands full for 6 days with my 13 year old cat and 1 year old Yorkie while i was away!! And she was amazing! I appreciate the updates, pictures, and pleasant attitude throughout! I know my puppy can be alot and Genevieve was so patient with her which i appreciated! Until next time. Thank you so much Genevieve!”

“Madeline did a great job taking care of Teddy during Thanksgiving break. She was very flexible with our moving flights and sent a lot of updates. Teddy was very happy and taken great care of when we came home.”

“Abhay was absolutely amazing. On first contact, his enthusiasm to meet and greet both us an our animals was encouraging. We knew from first meet that we could be confident and comfortable leaving our babies and our home in his care for two weeks. We were not wrong. Everything went as planned and our babies and our home were cared for perfectly according to our requests. We would, without question, request his services again and highly recommend to others.”

“Janice really helped us out and watched our 2 horses and dog so we could go to a Red Sox game while we were traveling through Massachusetts! She was really nice and trustworthy. Thanks Janice! Maybe our paths will cross again someday.”

I could not recommend Angelina more! I have a very anxious dog and she went out of her way to handle her with care and provide lots of updates while she pet sat for us. She was accommodating and flexible with our request. We can’t wait to book her again in the future!

Evan did an excellent job watching our dogs over the holiday. He was extremely communicative, responsive and timely. He was thorough with questions and details before he started so he had everything down. He administered medication and did an overall great job managing our two older dogs. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing reliable pet care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Humarock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Humarock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Humarock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Humarock. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
