About: I have taken care of dogs of multiple sizes and breeds from the age of 8. I have always been a natural dog lover! Although newer to cats, my experience in the field of ABA has made me patient, dependable, and attentive to behavior and routines. I follow instructions carefully and provide calm, compassionate, and individualized care, no matter the population or demographic I am working with! I am currently in my masters program for applied behavior analysis, gaining my fieldwork for ABA. I have flexible hours and often have availability periodically throughout the day! If communicated prior, I am easily able to accommodate most schedules. I communicate with the owner to ensure I understand each pet’s routine, providing feeding, walks, play, or medication all as directed, as each pet has their own individual needs! My priory is to maintain attention while keeping the clients home clean and secure.
“Rachel was great taking care of my two cats all weekend. She sent photos and made sure they were well taken care of for all of the visits. She cleaned the litter box and was respectful of our home. Would definitely have her pet sit again for my cats and my dog as well.”

“Laura did a great job checking in on our 4 cats while we were out of town for our wedding. Having her excellent communication, report cards and photos really put us at ease knowing our kitties were happy and well taken care of. Thank you so much Laura!!”

“Patti is incredible!! She is attentive and detail-oriented, which is important when you have an older cat who needs insulin injections and other medication. She is so caring and warm, our girl loved her immediately! We appreciated her thoughtful notes and photos at every visit, and were thrilled to come home after a long travel day and find homemade treats waiting for us! Patti truly goes above and beyond - we are so grateful to have found her.”

“The absolute best! It was our first time having someone come over to watch our dog and Lindsey handled everything so well. She followed my (long list) of instructions with ease and my dog absolutely adored her!!! She even stopped by an extra time just because she knew he’d be home for a few more hours alone. I was so nervous to leave him but Lindsey exceeded my expectations and I will absolutely be using her again!”

About: I’ve enjoyed walking dogs since I was a child. I’ve taken care of many puppies and older dogs. I understand the special care that they require. I’m happy to take dogs in to our home as well as going to people’s homes to pet sit. I work most week days until 5. I am free to help with visits and walks at night. I am free on the weekends for taking in pets for overnights or going to your home to visit, walks, play and feeding pets. I have a section at my home that is fenced in or I walk dogs on the leash. I walk often and make sure to stick to schedules and feeding routines. I have so much love for animals and love nothing more than caring for them.
About: I grew up with a cockapoo for 15 years and have a ton of experience with other dogs. I have watched dogs for years and have cared for puppies, elderly dogs, dogs with specific needs, etc. I make sure I keep your dog in its normal routine to make them feel like their owner never left and allow them a sense of familiarity!! I’m currently a college student and work part-time in the summer so I am available most days of the week whether it is just for a few hours during the day or even overnights. I treat your pets with the same love and attention I would give my own dog. I want to make sure they’re entertained and don’t feel lonely.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. Currently in my house, we have 3 dogs and 2 cats that I help take care of. I have been on Rover for about 6 years. I am an elementary teacher and high school girls basketball coach. I am currently on summer break since I am an elementary teacher. This means that I have a lot of free time because I am not working anywhere else. I am a very active person, so I love playing with all dogs and taking them on nice, long walks. I have also been around dogs and cats my whole life, so I love spending time with all animals.
About: I grew up with dogs within my family and through friends. I watched my neighbors dogs throughout high school, as well as the dogs for the families I babysat for. I also currently have a dog of almost 4 years, so I understand the level of attention a dog may need especially in the training years. I’m currently working a full-time hybrid job, so I am home and available Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays before 8:30am, between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, and after 5:00pm. I am completely available on weekends. I will care for your pet however you would like for me to. I can provide sitting, walking and feeding services and I am flexible!
About: I have loved every dog I’ve ever met, no matter what they were like. My love for dogs is endless, I have owned multiple in my life and have taken care of many pets from friends and family. I’m also someone who loves to walk, no matter the weather. I would never pass up the opportunity! I would be a perfect fit for your dog 🐶!!! I am currently a college student on winter break, so my schedule is pretty open! I do have a dog of my own to take care of, but other than that I will be very likely to be able to help out you and your dog! I am not currently able to care for any pet at my own home, but I am completely able to go to your home and take care of your dog there! I am super open to whatever needs your dog may have or whatever may be happening at your home. No matter what, I’ll make sure your dog is safe and cared for!
About: I am a pediatric NP which sets me apart from other sitters as I do have medical background! (Although obviously not dog specific but still helpful!) I have had a dog in my life for almost all 27 years of my life including all different ages, sizes, types & personalities! I am extremely comfortable with all dogs. I have cared for puppies within a few weeks to months old to all the way to end of life. Comfortable giving medications & caring for dogs after procedures/surgeries as well. My schedule is very flexible and I only work 3 days a week at the hospital which makes pet walking and care very easy to add to my daily life! Early morning to late night to everything in between! Super flexible! I will care for your pets with lots of love/cuddles but also exactly to your terms! I will never stray from your instructions on how your pet is cared for best! Owners always know their pet the best!

About: I have been surrounded by animals ever since I can remember — from growing up with family pets and teaching my dogs tricks like “paw” and “high-five” to riding horses and caring for barn cats, I’ve always had a love for animals! I’ve been dog sitting for my family, friends, and neighbors for 10+ years now, and have recently begun volunteering at Paws Chicago and a local dog shelter back home. My family has rescued 3 dogs from St. John USVI and we love each one of them and their own unique personalities. I accept dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages — providing a safe and nurturing space for your pet and service you can trust! I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most weekdays and some weekends. Please message me for any specifics and I’d be happy to coordinate scheduling! Caring for pets in client’s homes or entering a client’s home to retrieve their pet is something I am very cognizant of — paying careful attention to follow all instructions and leave as though I was never there. When entering a client’s home, especially for the first time, I take caution to ensure comfort and safety among the pet and avoid any sudden surprises or disruption. Prior to leaving, I return items such as leashes, harnesses, toys, etc. to their respective places and ensure the pet is comfortable with refreshed water and/or food as needed. I am always sure to lock up behind me and will notify you once my care is complete.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Humarock. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
