I could not recommend Shauna more! She stayed at our home with our pup for over a week while we were on vacation and our house and dog could not have been in better hands. She sent wonderful updates/photos and cared for our place as if it were her own. Having someone so responsible while being away made our trip just that much more enjoyable. We can hardly wait to have her back and I know our furry friend agrees! Thank you, Shauna!

About: I have never lived in a household without pets before, so taking care of cats and dogs (and fish) is something I’ve done my whole life. I’ve owned three black labs and multiple cats over the years. I especially love big dogs, but am a big fan of all animals! Besides Saturdays, I am available any day and any times through the summer. I start law school at the very end of August and will have less availability at that time, but I will still be looking for work! I love to keep my pets active and enriched, whether that means going on a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or going to the beach for a swim!

About: Dogs have been a big part of my life forever. I have a Golden Retriever named Mabel, who I’ve raised since my sophomore year of college, so I understand the daily care, patience, and attention that every dog deserves. In addition to caring for my own dog, I’ve volunteered at my local animal shelter, where I regularly walked dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. That experience taught me how to confidently handle energetic dogs, shy dogs, and those who need a little extra patience. I’m active, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Whether your dog needs a long walk, plenty of playtime, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I treat every pet like they’re my own and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how they’re doing. I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive care throughout the day, including walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. While I do travel for work about 30% of the time, I keep my Rover calendar up to date and only accept bookings when I know I can give your pet my full attention. When I’m available, you can count on reliable, responsive care and plenty of updates so you have peace of mind while you’re away. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes so your pet can stay comfortable in a familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, and any special requests. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pet. I’m respectful of your home, keep everything clean and secure, and treat your space with the same care I would my own. You’ll also receive regular photo and text updates, so you’ll always know your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

About: I've always loved dogs and cats and felt very passionate about them. I have two years animal shelter experience taking care of dogs and cats. This included feeding several different types of foods and diets to pets, ensuring pets' safety, cleaning cages and kennels, cleaning litter boxes, and taking out dogs into the yard. I am available most days and times every week to care for your pets. I offer mostly drop ins and I do have exceptions like I will be going on vacation this month so just message me within one day to request a booking. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I pay attention to dogs and cats body languages to ensure their safety needs and emotional needs are met. I let pets come to me first so that they can feel comfortable and safe around me. I treat every pet with respect and if they do not want to say hi yet, that is totally fine with me I will feed them and clean litterbox, etc and they will warm up to me eventually. I watch puppies and young dogs very carefully so that they do not get into trouble and I always make sure the floors are puppy/dog proofed.

Our first time hiring outside of family membets so we were extremly netvous. The rover site was a nice easy platform and process as well. We chose Janice and we knew immediately at the meet and greet we chose the right person for us and Louie our 2yo Cavapoo. She had us feeling at ease and comfortable thruout the visit that we had no issues to worry about. She provided a pic and feedback to us while away. She was very professional, friendly, kind and knowledgable. Through our comunications with her i knew she loved and nutured all animals and safety was of utmost importance. She is a very loving and conscientious knowledgable caretaker and would not hesitate to hire her again! The very best and Louie and our family are very fortunate to have found her, we thank you Rover!!

About: I've had dogs my whole life. I have experience with puppies through seniors and small to large dogs. I have a lot of flexibility with my time and can be available as needed. Happy to take dogs on walks or care in their own home. I am a stay at home parent, so I have a lot of flexibility for times I'm able to help out. I'm happy to work around whatever your schedule and needs are. I am very good at reading a dogs mood and cues for their needs. I can tailor my care for the needs of each individual pet. Whether they are more comfortable being inside their own home, like to play in the backyard, or go for walks in the park, I can guarantee they will have a great time and feel safe.

Nicole and Steve did an amazing job looking after our Zona! We were away for a weekend and wanted someone who can stay at our place, since our dog is a senior with poor vision. Zona felt really comfortable with them. Nicole updated us daily with pictures. Her experience with animals made us feel at ease and we knew Zona is in good hands. We came back home to a happy dog and a clean house. Nicole and Steve are great and we will definitely use their help in the future!

Olivia was very accommodating for a last minute dog sitting request and did two meet and greets leading up to it because my dog can be nervous around new people. They clicked well immediately and it was a huge relief to leave Sadie in great hands. Sadie had a blast with Olivia and I will definitely have Olivia watch Sadie in the future!

About: I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and fish. I have done overnights taking care of dogs. I would clean my neighbor cats litter box and feed them when they were on vacation. I used to volunteer at an animal shelter in the cat room. I’m going to be working part time over the summer 7:45-1:00pm, around early in the morning and afternoon to night. I can figure where to fit them in! I will always double check if they’ve gone the bathroom, been fed, walk and overall happiness when I’m at the home. I want satisfaction for you and the pet(s).

This was our first time leaving our dog for this amount of tIme. I was very nervous but Rebecca was so good with our dog. She stayed at the house keeping him comfortable. She took him on multiple walks a day which was his favorite thing to do. Rebecca kept us informed, sending texts and pictures. Giving him lots of love. She got along great with Percy. So happy we found Rebecca.

FAQs for House Sitting - North Pembroke

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in North Pembroke on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,388 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North Pembroke. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Pembroke walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Pembroke maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Pembroke choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Pembroke. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
