Hannah was absolutely fantastic with our 9-month-old boxer, Teddy! She was incredibly communicative throughout the stay, sending frequent updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind. She made sure to keep Teddy on his routine and gave him plenty of playtime. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs, and Teddy had a great time with her. We will definitely be reaching out to her again the next time we need a sitter. Highly recommend! Thank you Hannah for taking such good care of our little boy!!!!

Nicole and Steve did an amazing job looking after our Zona! We were away for a weekend and wanted someone who can stay at our place, since our dog is a senior with poor vision. Zona felt really comfortable with them. Nicole updated us daily with pictures. Her experience with animals made us feel at ease and we knew Zona is in good hands. We came back home to a happy dog and a clean house. Nicole and Steve are great and we will definitely use their help in the future!

About: I have been in the caring business since my teenage years - babysitting my younger siblings, caring for my family dog, running a summer enrichment program for at risk youth, caring for horses at a dude ranch and a western suburbs farm, minding many friends' dogs, and wrangling my own two senior dogs - brother and sister, now 14 years old. (But, so rambunctious for their first 10+ years). I love dogs and will care for your dog just as you would. One of my dogs is now blind and the other requires daily subcutaneous fluids so I am willing and able to help out with any of your pet's special needs as well..... I know how stressful it can be to ensure a routine is kept. Pet first aid and CPR certified. I am currently on a full time job hunt in marketing analytics and very available (with notice) to care for your dogs most days and evenings as I can search and do freelance work remotely. Depending on your dog's needs I can usually provide bathroom breaks every 4 hours in between errands, etc. My calendar will be updated to show days I plan to be away. At this time, I can care for pets in my client's home. I do need to bring my dogs for the overnight portion of the stay but will keep them separate in a room/space of your choosing during the evening (and on bedroom floor at night). They are very dog friendly just very sleepy and do well snoozing someplace quiet.

About: I have taken care of dogs of multiple sizes and breeds from the age of 8. I have always been a natural dog lover! Although newer to cats, my experience in the field of ABA has made me patient, dependable, and attentive to behavior and routines. I follow instructions carefully and provide calm, compassionate, and individualized care, no matter the population or demographic I am working with! I am currently in my masters program for applied behavior analysis, gaining my fieldwork for ABA. I have flexible hours and often have availability periodically throughout the day! If communicated prior, I am easily able to accommodate most schedules. I communicate with the owner to ensure I understand each pet’s routine, providing feeding, walks, play, or medication all as directed, as each pet has their own individual needs! My priory is to maintain attention while keeping the clients home clean and secure.

Abhay was absolutely amazing. On first contact, his enthusiasm to meet and greet both us an our animals was encouraging. We knew from first meet that we could be confident and comfortable leaving our babies and our home in his care for two weeks. We were not wrong. Everything went as planned and our babies and our home were cared for perfectly according to our requests. We would, without question, request his services again and highly recommend to others.

Avery took great care of our animals and home while we were away! Both of our dogs needed medication and she did a great job administering both pills and eye drops. She kept an open line of communication and reached out if she ever had any concerns/questions and vice versa. Our house was pristine when we got home as well. We would hire her again. Thanks again Avery!

Ginger really bonded with Grace, the week that Grace stayed with her. Grace took her for car rides, long walks and gave extra special attention at night. The pictures that we received showed how content Ginger was with Grace. Ginger can be some what cautious when meeting new people. However, she took to Grace quite well. We look forward to having Grace take care of Ginger again.

About: I have never lived in a household without pets before, so taking care of cats and dogs (and fish) is something I’ve done my whole life. I’ve owned four black labs and multiple cats over the years. I especially love big dogs, but am a big fan of all animals! I am currently in law school so my availability is limited, but I am still looking for work! I am available for weekend sitting and dog walking in afternoons and early morning. I love to keep my pets active and enriched, whether that means going on a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or going to the beach for a swim!

I could not recommend Shauna more! She stayed at our home with our pup for over a week while we were on vacation and our house and dog could not have been in better hands. She sent wonderful updates/photos and cared for our place as if it were her own. Having someone so responsible while being away made our trip just that much more enjoyable. We can hardly wait to have her back and I know our furry friend agrees! Thank you, Shauna!

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 15 years old. I love walking dog and spending time with them I have no problems with taking care of the house as well when people are gone as well, including cleaning up, vacuuming, dishes, ensuring mail is collected and taking care of plants. I have experience with puppies, adult dogs, and senior dogs. When I get up in the morning, I prefer to take the doggos out first thing for a quick walk around to let them go to the bathroom. We then head back to have breakfast together. Throughout the day, I will keep an eye on them to see if they need to go out. If they are a puppy, we will go out every 2 hours quickly. Otherwise, I tend to wait until around 4 hours to do another walk around, usually as a longer walk or if weather is bad, give us a chance to play at home for a while after lunch. I work remotely so I’ll still be able to work while looking after your pupper and will be keeping a close eye on them throughout the day. We’ll do another walk/play time around 3-4 before I start working on dinner and ensure we both get fed. At around 7 or.8, I’ll have us do one last walk around to take care of business before bedtime for adult dogs. Please keep in mind I’m aware that for puppies and senior dogs that schedules may need to adjust and we can have those conversations depending on need. I am not able to take pets into my own home at this time due to restrictions on my lease. So I will be relying on the equipment that you have in your home to care for your dog. I want to make sure I am using the food that your dog eats and the treats that are your safety standards. I will keep your dog on leash while on walks at all times, and be sure to follow whatever rules you have for your animal.

FAQs for House Sitting - Hanson

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hanson on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,778 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hanson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hanson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hanson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hanson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hanson. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
