About: Hello! My name is Andie and I work at VCA South Shore Hospital in ER, ICU, Neurology and Internal Medicine as a technician assistant and have prior TA experience at Old Derby Animal Hospital. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I previously went to the University of Arizona for 3 years studying animal sciences and transferred my junior year to return to the East Coast. I also have some experience with a handful of farm animals from my time at the UofA. Additionally some of my experience comes from working on home farms taking care of horses and alpacas; all of this meaning my knowledge of animals is extensive to give the best care for your furry friends! I have always had the passion for animal care and medicine which is why after graduating I will be continuing my schooling to be a CVT and hopefully someday a veterinarian. I stay at home and will be available all day to supervise care for your dog(s). My three teenage kids will help provide care and are very responsible, loving, and diligent caretakers. Our own 2 small (4 lb) chihuahuas, Mocha & Lacey, are used to having other dogs around. About: I worked with ARL Boston, where I gained expertise on animal behavior and training, nutrition, and basic veterinary care procedures such as vaccinations, insulin injections, and treating a variety of ailments. I encountered a variety of animal breeds of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, from sharky puppies to old grouchy senior dogs who despise going inside after a good stroll. In addition, I majored in animal science in high school and am currently pursuing courses in animal behavior and zoology in college. I am available on weekdays and weekends with a minimum of one day's notice. On same-day notice, I may still be available and accepting requests, so please contact me. However, with shorter notice, it is less likely that I will be available. In the client's house, I’m going to use caution when meeting their animal (I am in their space and need to make a positive first impression). Even if they are known to be pleasant, I will still take my time getting to know them. This allows me to earn an animal's trust while ensuring that I am aware of their behavioral cues and handling preferences. I immediately felt at ease when I dropped Cola off. The entire family came out to greet us, it was very sweet! She spent time playing fetch—my dog's absolute favorite game—and was highly observant and adaptable when Daisy interacted with her own two dogs, ensuring all the pups felt safe and comfortable.
