Patti goes above and beyond! Incredible communication, genuine care for your pets and your home! We came home to fresh made muffins, a refrigerator that looked like Martha Stewart had visited and most importantly our two pups who were well rested and obviously loved! I know we will be working with Patti again!

Ashley did an amazing job caring for our dog, Birdie, and our home. We came back to a spotless house, and Birdie was happy and clearly well cared for. She kept us updated throughout the week, which gave us a lot of peace of mind, especially since this was our first time using a dog sitter (who wasn’t family). Ashley is kind, reliable, and someone we’d absolutely trust again. We’ll definitely be booking her in the future and highly recommend her!

About: I have taken care of dogs of multiple sizes and breeds from the age of 8. I have always been a natural dog lover! Although newer to cats, my experience in the field of ABA has made me patient, dependable, and attentive to behavior and routines. I follow instructions carefully and provide calm, compassionate, and individualized care, no matter the population or demographic I am working with! I am currently in my masters program for applied behavior analysis, gaining my fieldwork for ABA. I have flexible hours and often have availability periodically throughout the day! If communicated prior, I am easily able to accommodate most schedules. I communicate with the owner to ensure I understand each pet’s routine, providing feeding, walks, play, or medication all as directed, as each pet has their own individual needs! My priory is to maintain attention while keeping the clients home clean and secure.

About: I have been in the caring business since my teenage years - babysitting my younger siblings, caring for my family dog, running a summer enrichment program for at risk youth, caring for horses at a dude ranch and a western suburbs farm, minding many friends' dogs, and wrangling my own two senior dogs - brother and sister, now 14 years old. (But, so rambunctious for their first 10+ years). I love dogs and will care for your dog just as you would. One of my dogs is now blind and the other requires daily subcutaneous fluids so I am willing and able to help out with any of your pet's special needs as well..... I know how stressful it can be to ensure a routine is kept. Pet first aid and CPR certified. I am currently on a full time job hunt in marketing analytics and very available (with notice) to care for your dogs most days and evenings as I can search and do freelance work remotely. Depending on your dog's needs I can usually provide bathroom breaks every 4 hours in between errands, etc. My calendar will be updated to show days I plan to be away. At this time, I can care for pets in my client's home. I do need to bring my dogs for the overnight portion of the stay but will keep them separate in a room/space of your choosing during the evening (and on bedroom floor at night). They are very dog friendly just very sleepy and do well snoozing someplace quiet.

About: Hello! My name is Kayley and I currently work from home. While caring for your pets, they will be with me all day. My schedule is very flexible and allows me to go on walks throughout the day. I love animals and would love to care for your furry family members! I had a German Shepard named Sarge growing up, who recently passed away. I don’t plan on getting my own dog right now in my life, so I thought pet sitting would be the perfect option for me. I have pet sat for many families over the years and have a passion for animals. I can take your dog to the beach, dog park, or on a long walk! I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, making me available to pet sit for over nights! One of my goals is to eventually have a dog walking/pet sitting business full time. I have a large yard that is right next to Wompatuck State Park. If your pet is more comfortable in your own home that works for me too! Currently I am remote for my job, so I am available during the week and weekends! I am available all day to tend to your animals :) I love taking walks, behind my house are many trails that super enriching for dogs. I also love going to the beach for a nice walk or even the dog park!

I could not recommend Shauna more! She stayed at our home with our pup for over a week while we were on vacation and our house and dog could not have been in better hands. She sent wonderful updates/photos and cared for our place as if it were her own. Having someone so responsible while being away made our trip just that much more enjoyable. We can hardly wait to have her back and I know our furry friend agrees! Thank you, Shauna!

About: I’ve enjoyed walking dogs since I was a child. I’ve taken care of many puppies and older dogs. I understand the special care that they require. I’m happy to take dogs in to our home as well as going to people’s homes to pet sit. I work most week days until 5. I am free to help with visits and walks at night. I am free on the weekends for taking in pets for overnights or going to your home to visit, walks, play and feeding pets. I have a section at my home that is fenced in or I walk dogs on the leash. I walk often and make sure to stick to schedules and feeding routines. I have so much love for animals and love nothing more than caring for them.

About: As an owner of a variety of pets but the most consistent being dogs, I have had a wide range of experience on how to care for and interact with pets. From ages 10-16 I had my own neighborhood dog-walking service that enabled me to deal with both small and large dogs. I have also had experience in overnight visits in which I provided pet related services involving three large bull mastiffs as well as watching over the owner’s house. As a dog owner myself, I know that your pet is like a child to you rather than an animal, and if you hire me to care for your pet I will provide exceptional services and care for them the way I would with my own dog. I hope you consider me in your search for a dog/pet caregiver if you are looking for someone who will provide exceptional service. I am available for both weekday and weekend visits for drop-ins including feeding, walking, and playtime. I am also available during weekends (Friday-Sunday) for overnight stays. I will make sure all detailed protocols for your pet are followed and can crate your pet if needed. I will also make sure your pet is always on a leash when on walks.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in North Scituate on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,600 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across North Scituate. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Scituate walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Scituate maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Scituate choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in North Scituate. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
