“Nicole & Rose V. was absolutely wonderful with my dog! They were attentive, reliable, and made sure my pup was well cared for the entire time. My dog came home happy and relaxed. I could tell he received lots of love and attention. I would definitely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring sitter!”

“Stephanie was a new experience with several dogs in the home. Cuddy was a little shy but warmed up to them and Stephenie's family. Cuddy was happy to see her each morning - learning a new routine. We will definitely return when in Arizona and in need of a Rover.”

“I’m extremely selective about who I trust with my senior dog, Lila, and Allie and Joey have been amazing. They’re helpful, punctual, and incredibly trustworthy. Lila is on multiple medications for a collapsed trachea and seizures, and they’re always reliable with her meds, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m at work or out. They’re great about sending photos and videos, and I can always tell how happy and comfortable Lila is. She actually gets so excited when she realizes she’s going to see Allie and Joey, which says everything about how well she’s treated. They were also willing to help with a last-minute booking and truly go the extra mile, even during emergency situations. I couldn’t recommend them more....Lila is always cared for like she’s their own.”

“Danielle is an amazing sitter. I never worry about the care that Finn receives. It's always comforting to go on vacation and know that my "little man" Finn is being well cared for. Thank you again.”

“I came in town to help with events for work & Jerron agreed to watch Ripley last minute. My pooch was happy and tired when I picked her up instead of anxious. & she is a high energy dog even at 6 years old. I recommend and would use Jerron's services again.”

“We are very lucky to have found Bernadette. She is very knowledgeable about dogs and she made us all (including Coco) feel at ease right away. Our trial day care went really well. She sent us videos of Coco so we can see how she is doing. This means a lot to us because we are first time dog parents and this is the first time Coco did day care and we are all a bit anxious. Thank you Bernadette!”

About: We’ve been loving and caring for dogs for over 8 years, and pups have always been part of our everyday life. From frequently watching my sister’s dog while she travels, owning our own, to helping out friends and family, we’ve gained lots of hands-on experience—and plenty of tail wags along the way. Kamila works from home, so your dog will get all-day care, attention, and snuggles—never long stretches alone. Eric has owned dogs ranging from pugs to big pitties, so we’re comfortable with all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. We’re also proud dog parents to a Rottweiler and an English bulldog, giving us experience with both high-energy playtime and laid-back couch days. Our dogs love all types of dogs from seniors to little pups. They are very gentle when they play with others and also respect other dogs’ boundaries if they just want to relax. They grew up with a senior dog so they are good with matching their energy if they just want to relax. We’re comfortable giving medications and sticking to your dog’s normal routine to keep them happy and stress-free. We love keeping pet parents in the loop and will send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pup is safe, loved, and having the best time. Zeiders and Capone can’t wait to share their massive toy collection with your pups🐾💛 Kamila works from home so your dog will be watched over and cared for all day. She can devote as much time as they need to caring for them. We have a fenced yard as well as barriers inside our home to keep the pets we are looking after away from any potential harmful objects in the home.
“We love Alex! Our Lily gets so excited when we pull up to Alex's home--she literally pulls us to the door! We are impressed with how knowledgeable and helpful Alex has been with sharing techniques to help correct bad puppy habits. We have found Alex to be reliable and she genuinely cares for Lily as if she were her own. We could not ask for a better caregiver for our pup!”

“Laree and Keith saved the day when I had several activities and needed someone to look after Ellie, my puppy. They were available to take her at short notice and give her a wonderful play day while I was out. I appreciate their concern for the welfare of my dog and she was happy when I picked her up and very tired from playing all day. Thank you so much for being there and I will definitely recommend you for others as well as schedule new play dates in the future for Ellie.”

About: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember! From snow days and trampoline adventures with my dog Bear to life with my two loyal Rhodesian Ridgebacks, animals have always been my happy place. These days, our sweet rescue Stella keeps life calm and cozy, and I still find that animals naturally seem to trust and connect with me. I’ve even taken obedience training classes because I genuinely love learning more about dog behavior and communication. I’m comfortable with energetic pups, gentle seniors, big dogs, little dogs, and yes — cats too (even if we can’t have them at home because of allergies). My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into our family’s daily routine. I’m a teacher, so I’m home during summers and school breaks, including two weeks each in fall, winter, and spring. My work schedule when teaching allows me to stop by home during lunch to check in on pets and I’m home by 3:30 PM leaving the evening open for playtime and companionship. Our two boys (13 and 15) also love animals and are learning responsibility by helping care for pets alongside me — giving extra love, playtime, walks, and attention. As a family, we’re able to comfortably provide care in our home or stop by for feedings, walks, check-ins, and play visits throughout the day. During the school year, I’m available before 7:00 AM and after 3:30 PM. I care for pets like they’re part of the family! I love greeting them with excitement, giving them attention, playtime, cuddles, and making sure they feel comfortable and loved while you’re away. I enjoy taking dogs on walks or runs, playing fetch, and honestly love when they get the zoomies and show their personalities. Safety is always a priority. In our home, pets are supervised and can be safely crated or given their own quiet room if needed for rest, comfort, or separation. We have a fully fenced yard for outdoor play and a dog door so pets can move in and out comfortably throughout the day. We do have a pool that is not fenced, so I make sure dogs are monitored outside and will always follow the owner’s instructions regarding outdoor access and supervision. Whether caring for pets in my home or yours, my goal is to make them feel safe, happy, exercised, and loved.

“Susan and Jim were so easy to work with. They clearly love dogs and provide the best care! I will definitely request Susan again. It was so comforting knowing Libby was safe. Thanks again!”

“We recently located from Washington State to Arizona! We were hoping to find a kind and fun pet sitter here for our beloved doggo, Leo. We were ecstatic to find Katie! She clearly loves what she does and has lots of experience! Leo absolutely adores her! Every time we do drop off, he is pulling me on the leash to get to her! When we pick him up, he is so happy and we just know he had the best day ever! We love that Katie sends us updates and videos/pictures of Leo’s day! If you have the opportunity to obtain Katie’s services, I advise you to do so…hurry as fast as you can!!! She is the absolute best!”

About: I’ve cared for pets throughout my childhood and was a dedicated dog parent from 2018–2023. During that time I developed a deep appreciation for each animal’s unique personality, needs, and communication style. I also trained my dog to use communication buttons, which strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and ability to read animal behavior. This experience taught me how to work gently with pets and respond to their cues in a thoughtful way. I provide calm, attentive care and am especially mindful of pets who may feel anxious or sensitive when their owners are away. My goal is always to create a safe, peaceful environment where pets feel comfortable, understood, and well cared for. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets and understand the extra patience and attentiveness they may need. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, and I plan my schedule to ensure pets receive consistent attention, walks, and companionship. I am dependable, organized, and make sure each visit includes the care, affection, and monitoring pets need to feel safe and happy. I live in a clean and quiet home in a community with a calm environment that is well suited for pets. I prioritize safety by following each owner’s care instructions closely, keeping pets supervised, and maintaining a peaceful space. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I treat every pet with patience, respect, and attentive care so they feel secure while their owner is away.
“Brooke was amazing. She was flexible on the times to drop Bella off and pick her up, which means a lot to me. Bella had such a great time with Brooke and her dogs! She was so worn out from the day of fun! Will def be taking her back again.”

“Mary was great! She was on time both picking up and dropping off, and she sent some early pictures to let me know my pup, who is a little anxious, was doing OK. She got a walk in and gave him some playtime, and he was worn out when he got home.”

Sydney and her family are some of Coopers FAVORITE people and fur-friends to go see!! He gets so excited and runs in to go see them as soon as he gets there. We are so grateful to Sydney for being so great with our goofy boy and can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for some help with their babies. Thank you so much again Sydney! Coop can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Nicole watched Pepperjac as a puppy for some time and then we needed a sitter again a specific week months later. Pepperjac recognized the neighborhood and got so excited to be back with Nicole. We know she is taken care of, happy and safe during her stay. Great communication and updates as well. We appreciate you Nicole.

Jerron took great care of our two dogs while we were visiting Mesa and was very quick in responding to my last minute request. I think my boys were couch potatoes the whole day, but that tells me they were comfortable there and were able to get some respite from our travels. We will book with Jarron again next time we need a sitter in Mesa!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review by Charlie B 🐾 Hi, it’s me, Charlie. I don’t usually write reviews because I’m very busy being adorable and monitoring squirrels, but this felt important. First of all, my mom abandoned me (rude) to go to “work” (whatever that is), but THEN… plot twist… I met Capone. Capone = 12/10 good boy. We played. We zoomed. We possibly solved several world problems. He let me be the boss sometimes (as he should), and I allowed him the honor of chasing me around like a maniac. It was a very balanced, professional friendship. At one point, I almost forgot I had been tragically left behind. Almost. To my mom: I will forgive you… eventually. To Capone: I love you, you chaotic legend. Please schedule more playdates immediately. Overall experience: Would get “abandoned” again if Capone is involved. – Charlie 🐶 (professional good girl, part-time drama queen)

Danielle was super responsive to my inquiry about her availability to take care of Maverick, my 6-month old Maltipoo pup. The two clicked immediately on the 1st meet and great. Mav loved her two furry babies, who put up with his puppy energy. Danielle sent frequent updates during Mav's stay. Her home is beautifully kept, as is her backyard play area. Already rebooked the next stay! Thanks Danielle.

Geneva is great with my puppy. Every time we get to their house Lady can’t wait to go in and play with her dog Apollo. She’s great at communicating with me sending lots of pictures to me throughout the day. Lady always comes back very happy and a little tired from all the fun she’s having.

Lily seemed to have lots of fun in Daejahs beautiful yard! And also enjoyed lots of comfy couch cuddles. I was not worried at all while Lily was in her care. Sent lots of cute pictures and videos of Lily chasing birds outside too! She was also very flexible with pick up times since my husbands job is very unpredictable. We appreciated the flexibility. Would definitely book again!

Richard was the perfect sitter for my little boy. The backyard setup is perfect for playtime, and his dogs are lovely. I’ve never put Kai in daycare before, but Richard was an amazing host. We felt at ease from the start, and he sent me pictures throughout the day to show how much fun and well looked after Kai was. I couldn’t have asked for a better first sit. Highly recommended!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Carlos commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
