“Nicole watched Pepperjac as a puppy for some time and then we needed a sitter again a specific week months later. Pepperjac recognized the neighborhood and got so excited to be back with Nicole. We know she is taken care of, happy and safe during her stay. Great communication and updates as well. We appreciate you Nicole.”

“Stephanie was a new experience with several dogs in the home. Cuddy was a little shy but warmed up to them and Stephenie's family. Cuddy was happy to see her each morning - learning a new routine. We will definitely return when in Arizona and in need of a Rover.”

“Absolutely amazing! I've used To er several times when we're visiting an area away from home and this was, by far, the best experience. I received photos throughout her stay. House was immaculate with no bad smells or messes (unlike many of the sitters I've been to). Thanks a great bunch of doggy kisses!”

“This was our first time using Rover. We were nervous about leaving Holly but we sure didn't need to be! She did well and we couldn't be happier about the fine care she received.”

“Thank you for watching tallulah and for helping with the crazy morning I was having when she locked herself in the car with the keys. I will definitely have her come when I have some out of town work and need a sitter.”

I have a large fenced yard with medium sized dog who is 6. I am non-smoking, non-vaping and love all animals. I can provide references.
“Mary was great! She was on time both picking up and dropping off, and she sent some early pictures to let me know my pup, who is a little anxious, was doing OK. She got a walk in and gave him some playtime, and he was worn out when he got home.”

About: Every pet is a guest of honor in my home, favortism and special treatment are a given! The care given is equivalent to an all inclusive resort/visit to gradmas experience. I love to go above and beyond every pets needs, so that means double the treats and double the pets! Pet care can fit seamlessly into my daily or weekly routine as i am already a stay at home cat parent! Play, treats, feedings are already a familiar part of my week. I love to spoil my pets, however I understand how important routines are to our pets especially when away from home. I, of course, follow all instructuons im left with. And if there is anything extra I can add, i definitely will!
About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. My experience in Pet Care is from having my own pets and caring for family, friends and volunteering over the years. Adult dogs can thrive with a feeding routine, fresh water, regular exercise, enough potty breaks, and good sleeping habits—and of course, quality time with their favorite human! I have a large fenced yard with lots of room to run, but can also easily crate your dog if needed. I provide consistent attention, respect your pet's boundaries, use preferred food and treats, and communicate openly with you about any concerns or special needs your pet may have.
“Susan did an amazing job watching Ava for the day! Took her out for walks multiple times, played with her and sent multiple updates and picture to let me know she was settling in well. I would highly recommend Susan!”

About: Hi, I’m Jesse! I live in The Islands community in Gilbert, and I recently said goodbye to my sweet 12-year-old bulldog. I truly miss having a dog around, and I’d love to share my home and care with yours. Whether your dog loves playtime, cuddles, or just relaxing in the sun, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and at home. I work from home, which means I can give your pup plenty of attention throughout the day. I will also appreciate the company of having your dog hang out with me. My home has a spacious backyard on the lake with real grass, perfect for playtime and potty breaks. More importantly, I know how much dogs mean to their families, and I’ll care for yours as if they were my own.
“Kelli is amazing! She's very responsive and accommodated a last-minute need. My boys came home exhausted, they fell asleep in the car when I picked them up to take them home which is about a mile away. They ate supper and slept for the rest of the day and most of the following. With that kind of exhaustion, you know they had a great time and lived their best life! I highly recommend Kelli and will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and love having them around. There is nothing like the unconditional love of a dog! People say I’m the dog whisperer because they just seem to like me. I’m retired so I’m home. I do puzzles and reading and I really enjoy the company of dogs, walking them helps me get my steps in. I can take care of feeding and walking dogs. I do live in an apt and walk my dog 4 times a day, so they would get plenty of exercise and lots of hugs!

Sydney and her family are some of Coopers FAVORITE people and fur-friends to go see!! He gets so excited and runs in to go see them as soon as he gets there. We are so grateful to Sydney for being so great with our goofy boy and can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for some help with their babies. Thank you so much again Sydney! Coop can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Jerron took great care of our two dogs while we were visiting Mesa and was very quick in responding to my last minute request. I think my boys were couch potatoes the whole day, but that tells me they were comfortable there and were able to get some respite from our travels. We will book with Jarron again next time we need a sitter in Mesa!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review by Charlie B 🐾 Hi, it’s me, Charlie. I don’t usually write reviews because I’m very busy being adorable and monitoring squirrels, but this felt important. First of all, my mom abandoned me (rude) to go to “work” (whatever that is), but THEN… plot twist… I met Capone. Capone = 12/10 good boy. We played. We zoomed. We possibly solved several world problems. He let me be the boss sometimes (as he should), and I allowed him the honor of chasing me around like a maniac. It was a very balanced, professional friendship. At one point, I almost forgot I had been tragically left behind. Almost. To my mom: I will forgive you… eventually. To Capone: I love you, you chaotic legend. Please schedule more playdates immediately. Overall experience: Would get “abandoned” again if Capone is involved. – Charlie 🐶 (professional good girl, part-time drama queen)

Danielle was super responsive to my inquiry about her availability to take care of Maverick, my 6-month old Maltipoo pup. The two clicked immediately on the 1st meet and great. Mav loved her two furry babies, who put up with his puppy energy. Danielle sent frequent updates during Mav's stay. Her home is beautifully kept, as is her backyard play area. Already rebooked the next stay! Thanks Danielle.

Geneva is great with my puppy. Every time we get to their house Lady can’t wait to go in and play with her dog Apollo. She’s great at communicating with me sending lots of pictures to me throughout the day. Lady always comes back very happy and a little tired from all the fun she’s having.

Lily seemed to have lots of fun in Daejahs beautiful yard! And also enjoyed lots of comfy couch cuddles. I was not worried at all while Lily was in her care. Sent lots of cute pictures and videos of Lily chasing birds outside too! She was also very flexible with pick up times since my husbands job is very unpredictable. We appreciated the flexibility. Would definitely book again!

Richard was the perfect sitter for my little boy. The backyard setup is perfect for playtime, and his dogs are lovely. I’ve never put Kai in daycare before, but Richard was an amazing host. We felt at ease from the start, and he sent me pictures throughout the day to show how much fun and well looked after Kai was. I couldn’t have asked for a better first sit. Highly recommended!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your San Carlos commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
