“Sarah took great care of my cats! She was always on-time and sent detailed updates of her visit. My cats weren’t the most friendly but that didn’t discourage Sarah. We had to unexpectedly extend our trip and she was able to add on a few more days of care to help us out, which I really appreciated! I will definitely book with Sarah again for future trips.”

“Layla is truly one of a kind person. Her love for animals is absolutely incredible. I was unexpectedly out of town for a very long time. Layla's attention and love for my cats is what made all the difference in the world. I could not have even imaged my long absence if were not for Layla. I'm not just leaving a review to be nice, I cannot imagine a better pet sitter than Layla or a better person. She is truly a breath of fresh air in a world where we really need loving and caring people. I will never forget Layla, neither will my cats! You are loved Layla!”

“I told Mary how nervous I was about her walking Hank because he is so reactive to other dogs and people she is amazing and so caring and made me feel sooo comfortable. 1000% recommend trusting her with your sweet pets!”

“Kelly is just great, simply put. Drop-ins, delivery, long-term pet care, she really does it all! She became a part of my dogs life, and he/we will surely miss her with her relocation. My wife and I operate on a varying schedule and Kelly was always there to accommodate our needs. Trust me, you’ve found a good one with her.”

“Shelagh came and let my pup out for a little walk while I was at work and couldn’t come home for lunch. She walked him around and played with him a bit. She followed the directions perfectly and was very communicative. I will definitely be using her again!”

About: Hello! I'm Molly and I'd be honored to care for your four-legged family members! I've taken care of pets for 25+ years. Caring for dogs/cats of all sizes, breeds and behaviors is my true love and passion. I am a fun-loving, experienced professional, and will love your fur-children/family member as if they are my own. I provide service to St. Johns & Flagler county pet families 7 days a week. My schedule is flexible to accommodate and ensure your sweet baby receives the personal attention he/she deserves. I believe every individual pet is unique and special. I follow the lead of what each pet parent wants for their sweet fur-baby. Older or more seniors dogs may need some company, cuddles and a short walk. Young active pups may need long walks in their neighborhood or local park. I think what matters most is trust -and that your pet feels safe, happy, and loved until you get home.
About: Hi! My name is Lindsey and I currently live in Lancaster, PAl. I have always loved dogs and have had one since I was 11 including a husky, black lab, and great pyrenees. I currently have a black lab/german shepherd mix back home in baltimore that I miss very much and would love to be able to help others out with their dogs. Aside from having my own dogs, I also have experience watching and walking dogs of all ages and sizes. I am used to owning and watching dogs with all levels of energy so I am adaptable to the dog's needs. I do go to school full time for nursing so I have a set schedule I will be able to work around.
“Paige was absolutely awesome since we met prior to the booking; She gave me great updates during the drop in sessions, and has great communication. 10/10 :) THANK YOU, PAIGE!!”
About: Animals aren't just a hobby for me—they have been my entire life. I have been proudly caring for dogs and cats since I was a child, and for over twenty years, I have successfully raised and parented both on my own. Because of this lifelong devotion, I am deeply fluent in both "dog" and "cat," understanding their unique personalities, cues, and needs at a core level. When your fur baby stays with me, they aren't just being "watched"; they are being welcomed into a home backed by decades of hands-on expertise and a lifetime of genuine love. You can enjoy your time away with absolute peace of mind, knowing your best friend is in the hands of an experienced, dedicated, lifelong pet advocate. By day, I am a proud, full-time 12-month employee with the St. Johns County School District. Because of my weekday commitment to our schools, I dedicate my weekends entirely to your fur babies! I treat your home with the utmost respect and follow your exact instructions to the letter. During my visits, I don't just rush in and out; I make sure your pet gets quality one-on-one time. For dogs, that means brisk walks, fresh water, and active play. For cats, it means clean litter boxes, fresh food, and interactive play or gentle socialization depending on their mood.
About: I've had a dog (weimaraner) for most of my childhood, he was my buddy. I have boarded dogs at my house (senior rottweiler, pug, aussie, pitbull, red heeler) and walked neighborhood dogs (lab, border collie, goldendoodle) multiple times over the past 5 years, from adolescent to senior. I currently volunteer at a dog rescue, mostly with the thrift store but also spending time with the dogs. I truly enjoy having dogs around, I am not able to have my own at the moment and so I enjoy the time I get with dogs in need and neighborhood pets. I'm currently volunteering for 5 hours at a time, 2-3 days a week on Sunday and Monday, and I will be starting a job soon, so I will make sure to update my schedule once that is available to me. I can spend time with your dog all day when available to provide company, pets, and throw a frisbee in the yard, but I am also very comfortable taking dogs on long walks. I am pretty good about reading dogs' mannerisms and trying to adapt my activity based on their personality. If I'm new to a dog, I will try and make sure I do something with them they love to earn their trust.
“Thank you Tara. Our 2 dogs were well taken care of. I appreciate booking her last minute. We usually can have family watch our pups, but we will definitely call Tara again if we need a sitter.”

About: I've been around dogs my entire life and currently have a cat of my own, so I understand the daily responsibility and care that pets need. I occasionally walk and help care for friends' dogs and have experience with feeding, exercise, playtime, and providing companionship. I genuinely love animals and enjoy getting to know each pet's unique personality. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away, and I'll care for them as if they were my own. Pet care fits very easily into my daily routine. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. Whether it's walks, feeding, playtime, drop-in visits, or simply providing companionship, I can adjust my day to meet each pet's needs. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I always focus on keeping pets comfortable, safe, and following their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client's home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I also keep the home clean and tidy, including cleaning litter boxes or picking up after dogs during walks. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I provide updates and photos to help owners feel at ease while they're away. Every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their personality and specific needs to ensure they receive the best care possible.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Saint Augustine
Can’t say enough great things about Sarah! She came to our house before our trip to meet our dog and for us to run through everything with her. She went above and beyond, sent many photos, and gave such great detailed updates! She really eliminated any worries about our girl while we were away!

Shelagh is wonderful. My cats adored her so much and they were so happy and relaxed when I came back from my weekend trip. I had such anxiety using a pet sitter for the first time ever, but Shelagh was very understanding and made sure that everything goes smoothly. She shared pictures with me and updated me during the visits. I will definitely book her again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
