“Randi has been great with our reactive dog Lily. She’s athletic and enjoys walking her (even though she can be a pain). She also took great care of her when we were out of town. Sent lots of updates, followed directions, and our dog was happy when we came home. I recommend her!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my hands on experience with pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to gentle senior dogs who need extra love and care. I’m patient, attentive, and trained in basic puppy obedience, crate training, and leash manners, which helps young dogs build great habits early on. For senior pets, I provide calm, compassionate care and understand the importance of routine, medication schedules, and mobility support. I treat every pet like my own, tailoring my care to their unique personality and needs whether that means active playtime or quiet companionship. I have recently graduated and am unsure of what I would like to do career wise. I figured it would be good to utilize my skills and love for animals to help out others! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in my client’s, I focus on creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment that feels familiar and stress free for them. I follow each pet’s routine closely feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions to keep things consistent. I also make sure to give plenty of one on one attention, whether it’s cuddle time, exercise, or simply being present so your pet feels loved and secure while you’re away!

About: For the past year I’ve been helping look after my partner’s five very rambunctious Australian Shepherds, and honestly, getting to know all their little quirks has been one of my favorite things. Your pet’s happiness and safety always come first with me. I’m not working right now, But i currently attend Flagker College where i’m Majoring in Theatre Arts. In the morning, i usually have classes which is from 10 am all the way till 12-1. so for the time being I’ve got plenty of time to give your pet real, focused attention walks, feeding, or just hanging out and keeping them company. This isn’t just a side gig to me, I actually love it. I treat every home and every pet like they’re special, whether I’m sitting for one night or a whole week. I’ll stick to your routines, keep things clean and calm, and pay close attention to whatever each animal needs. I pick things up quick, and at the end of the day I just want your pet (and you) to trust me.
About: I’ve always had dogs of my own and truly see them as family. I’m used to the everyday stuff—walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of love—and I know how much the little routines matter. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pup like their own, I’d love to help. I’m new to the area and have lots of free time, so pet care easily fits into my day. I love being outside and see walking dogs as a great way to explore the neighborhood while giving them the exercise and attention they need. Since my schedule is wide open, I can be flexible and available when you need me. When I do drop-ins, I make sure your pet gets everything they need—fresh food and water, potty breaks, playtime, and some extra love and attention. For walks, I’ll match your dog’s energy, whether that’s a long stroll to burn off energy or a shorter walk for a slower pace. I always treat pets like they’re my own and follow any routines or instructions you leave for me.
“Katie was able to provide great care for my two huskies, one in which has special needs (seizures). Katie was communicative and sent pictures and let us know when she arrived and when she left. We will be using Katie in the future!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and have also taken care of other people’s pets. I’m comfortable with daily stuff like feeding, walks, and playtime, and I’m good at adjusting to different dogs and their routines. I always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for. As a student athlete, I’m really used to managing my time and sticking to a schedule. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine, whether that’s walks, check-ins, or longer care blocks. I plan ahead around classes and practices, so pets still get consistent attention, exercise, and care. I’m reliable, organized, and used to balancing responsibilities. I care for pets in my clients’ homes by following their usual routines so everything feels familiar and comfortable for the pet. I handle feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions like medication or special care. I make sure pets get attention, exercise, and a calm environment while keeping the home clean and respected. Since I cannot offer care in my home, all services are done in the pet’s home where they’re most comfortable.
About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats my entire life. I currently have two dogs and a cat, and regularly care for my children’s pets. Patient, gentle, and loving with pets of all ages. I especially enjoy puppies and kittens and giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I am retired, so I have plenty of time and lots of love to give. I enjoy spending time with animals and would love to give your pets the attention and care they deserve while you’re away. I follow each pet’s routine, keep doors securely closed, provide fresh water and care, and make sure pets are safe, loved, comfortable, and never rushed.
About: I've grown up around animals. I was raised on a ranch around horses, cows, and dogs. I've had a cat as long as I can remember, too. My lifelong passion has been animal care. Recently, for the last 2 years, I've been a professional animal trainer, working with marine mammals and birds, with a foundation in operant conditioning and positive reinforcement. I work full-time as a marine mammal trainer, but I am available most evenings/nights, and my current weekends from my full time position are Sundays & Mondays. For house visits, I am more than willing to adapt to whatever is needed. I have animal training experience and can adapt to the individual needs of the animals and their owners. Outdoors, indoors, crating, etc. I am open and friendly, but know how to be firm.

About: For the past 12 years, I have been training dogs and managing doggie daycares. My main focus over the past 5 years has been getting deeper into the training community, working for local organizations and shelters training service dogs for veterans and opening my dog training company, Palms and Paws Dog Training, LLC. I also have experience in insulin injections and medication in both dogs and cats. My schedule is currently wide open and very flexible! I am able to do new drop in visits, walks and boarding both in my home and at your home. I am married to my wife and currently live in an apartment on the second floor. I have a 14 year old male cat and a 12 German shepherd that get along great. I have done board and trains in the past where dogs came to my home to train so I am familiar with crating and rotating and understand the importance of daily walks and enrichment. I have worked at and managed multiple boarding facilities and am very familiar with all dogs needs both inside and outside of the home as well as their physical, emotional and mental needs. I am equally as passionate about cats and am more than happy to take the time they need to build trust.
“Jalynn provided excellent care for both of our pups! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire week, providing regular updates and photos, making us feel at ease while we were away. She paid close attention to their needs and followed all of our instructions carefully. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups and would absolutely recommend Jalynn!”

“Olivia was very sweet and caring. She was on top of everything and took such great care of our 3 pups. We were a little nervous at first but after the first visit we felt at ease. She was in constant communication and took lots of photos.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Vilano Beach
We really appreciated Hanna coming over to take care of our Goldie on September 1st, especially with only two days of a request. Hanna let us know how it went with Goldie, and sent us a picture of our sweet girl, which we appreciated! We are definitely going to contact Hanna again when we need help! Thank you, again Hanna!!

Shelagh is wonderful. My cats adored her so much and they were so happy and relaxed when I came back from my weekend trip. I had such anxiety using a pet sitter for the first time ever, but Shelagh was very understanding and made sure that everything goes smoothly. She shared pictures with me and updated me during the visits. I will definitely book her again.

Madeline has a lovely energy and an obvious love for all animals, and she worked extremely well with my cat. She was responsible, kind, I have no hesitation recommending Madeline, and we will use her again communicative, and my cat seemed very relaxed and content with her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
